Clare & Rob
Jeannie Mac I get overwhelmed just trying to keep the house in order and holding down a fulltime job let alone doing all that you do haha! I don't know how you do it, hats off to you 👍
Thankyou both very much for the mention , and a BIG thankyou to Clare for the soda bread , my mum used to bake it round on a baking tray with a big cross on the top . I wish that I could afford to support you both financially but I am volunteering in Dnipro Ukraine at the moment and I just do not have any spare cash , sorry
Thank you for reminding me of how good homemade Irish soda bread tastes! You're comments and interaction means so much to us, absolutely no need for anything else 😍
Good on you!
Hi Clare & Rob. It’s striking how happy you both look. Like the weight of the world has lifted.
I don’t know how you grew so much great food while meeting your deadlines for your home. It’s obvious that you both have green thumbs but your soil quality must be incredible too
So good to see you entertaining & enjoying your home instead of toiling over it. ✌️🧡🍁♥️🍂
It's all been a juggle, but have enjoyed every minute 😁
At 8 mins it's like the original hard slog videos back in the day, where Rob's doing a a job and Clare (The Machine) is ploughing away in the background at another task lol!
Proving again that teamwork makes the dream work I guess?
Gosh like the old days when we didn't say much but press timelapse 🤣
Guests - love them or loathe them, they make us all finish those jobs we've been putting off. Looking forward to seeing the finished table.
Yes, so true. I always find the house is never cleaner before a visit 😄
I wonder if there’s a viewer out there looking at the forty coats kitchen wall who can remember the times that were lived in front of those colours, someone must by out there whose grand parents painted those colours.
Noooooooo, lost footage, feel your pain
Great to see the appreciation coming in at the end there.
Think a few colours were on our walls here 🤣🤣
Thank you and your welcome. Your is one of a few vlogs I enjoy. Sadly at 59 living vicariously through you all, I wish I could homestead but living with chronic debilitating genetic disease just not olin my future. You bring smiles, share your love for each other and life without any pretentiousness. Your genuine hearts come across my screen, making me feel a part of something bigger. As for the saw I had flashbacks to a time in the Coast Guard when I had to build a box and rack for gas bottles. No power tools.😂😂😂
Love your home❤
Thankyou for a lovely message Stacie! It's great to have you with us, giving us the encouragement which can be much needed at times. I bet that was some gas bottle rack, you're clearly quite the carpenter😊
Always nice to have visitors. 😊😊.
It sure is! 😊
Thank you for the voyeur view of your lives, your efforts, struggles, successes and quirks uniquely yours.
You're living in a building site, and highly functioning as a family, including extended family. You've bested your best, above and beyond.
i don't give a tinker's toss about dust or doors or Roonie hair on the floor, what is appreciated is your effort and motivation, your openness to learn and your regard for advice whether requested or not...
Big love from Australia.
Thankyou for a very heartfelt comment. We have always been true to our word with every aspect of the build and I believe that this gives an honest picture of the struggles and successes🙂
I just love watching you guys!! Well done on the soda bread!
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Great video again! I hope you have a wonderful dinner with family. ❤
Thank you so much! It was a lovely day with family 😊

Great to see the appreciation coming in from viewers at the end there.
🤣
Now, don't you slip down that carb slide!
Oh, and Clare... you've become quite the entertainer. Watch the first video and you'll see how the star's been born. Love the children at the end!
Oh gosh really, I used to find the camera very intimidating, it is a bit easier now. The kids were dying to do the outro!
Have a good visit and enjoy all the compliments that will certainly come your way! 😄
Thank you! 😃
I dont know if you have salt washed your tallow but I find if I do about 5-8 salt washes it helps with the "meaty" flavor of the tallow and makes it more neutral. It is really becoming popular as a night time skin sealer and moisturizer. I haven't t tried it yet but I want to. You can also make a lovely tallow soap.
Yes I would love to experiment with those ideas, thankyou for the tip on salt washing 👍
Soda bread, wrapped in a tea towel cooling outside on the window sill. Constsntly asking "can I have some yet?"
Thank you for the reminder
Love the memories 😍
@ 22.46 my heart nearly stopped!
50 years old and childishly chuffed at a 'shout out' from my favourite channel!
I can't wait to show my wife in the morning what (as she calls them lol) "your RUclips friends" have said!
Haven't even watched the soda bread being made yet, but just HAD to comment lol!
Ahh how lovely, well your right there with the RUclips friends 🥰
The soda bread looks so good and your own honey Clare. I love the heel of the bread too. How about showing us how to make bone broth
Oh good idea! The next time I collect the bones, I will do a bit about it 👍
I have been so excited to see that little stone wall between the closet and your master bathroom! I know, I’m weird, lol! Looking forward to seeing the finished product! Also, your soda bread looks delicious. Love you guys! 😊💚
Me too!! Eventually we'll get there, I do love an old stone wall 😉
Clare would you be so kind and wipe down the light shade ❤tks
Tove, I was so embarrassed when I watched it back but Rob had already uploaded to YT! 🙈
Lololol 😂❤❤😂😂it could be worse
i love so much about you guys and the work / content you create / do -- including the flexibility you have toward your diet rules. that bread looks so good....
Thanks so much!! Very much back on the carnivore after that slice, way to tempting 🙂
❤🎉 love your progress and videos! I think the pink flowers are asters? And yes on the soda bread, except they added golden or regular rasins. It was done in a round glass dish, so that is how I make it too. 😊 Thank you for your vids❤🎉
How lovely to make with raisins, nice idea 😀
love seeing you 2 wrking to get the cottage done , love ur enthusiam . from both of you ,you are getting there clare n rob well done ,soorrrry i dont like the cookin parts ,but love everything else xxxx
Thanks Diana, it's always good to hear from you guys about what you like and dislike, it definitely helps to plan going forwards 👍
Sour dough bread and a cup o te when its pissing down outside, the simple things in life are the best
Very nice, we'll have to make do with hot water and a squeeze of lemon for now 😊
Curious thing came to my mind during the "soda bread" part. Im an Armagh man but my home is Pamplona. In the north of Ireland we call your soda bread "wheaten bread". Soda bread is white flour and used predominately in the Ulster fry. A different kettle of fish all together. So my question is what do you call "Ulster fry soda bread"?
Good question! I've never heard of it lol 😅 must Google it
Michaelmas daisy is the plant. Hope it’s not too cold in ground for spuds. Table is looking good👍
Thankyou. The tunnel seems to maintain a nice temp in the day so I think the spuds should be fine, however I was a bit late planting, might be New Year spuds instead of Christmas ones 🤣
i make butter under everything 😅 under Nutella or jam....it is soo much better 😊 i'm happy when a new video is online 🥰 great to see the progress 👍 greetings from germany 😊
You have great taste 😊
Oh I agreee. I could never have marmalade on anything without butter!
@@WestCorkWander thank you 🥰
Postcard ordered. I can't wait to add it to the other two I have framed and mounted.
I buy cheap white frames with mounts in BLM and they looked great together - Three is a much better number for a visually stunning set.
I get to read the personalised message and also have pics I enjoy every time I see them that look good to anyone else seeing them on display, even if they've never seen your channel!
Thank you!
Thank you so much for your support, delighted you enjoy them ❤️
Ok Rob, it goes like this….bread, butter, jam! 😂
Haha, true 🤣
Less than 2 mins in and I hear you're making SODA BREAD!
Yay, yay and YAY!
Sorry for the wait Phelim, we got there eventually 👍
What was that battered Alfa Giulia I spied!? Is that your next project?? Awesome motor.
Garden is looking fab - think the plants outside your greenhouse was Echinacea no?
The family are loving that unhomogenised milk in the bottle.
Great looking Soda bread, A+!
Great vid folks.
It sure was... Thought I made every effort not to show it. Clare was under strict instructions and I cropped most shots... Guess one got by 🤣 it will be a project soon but not for this channel. It's a diesel 2.2 unfortunately but high spec and great price. Sourcing parts now.. 🤞🤞🤞
It's a great milk, we love driving by the farm 🤣 soda bread is fair tempting right now!!
clare the crust of the bread we call it the heel down here, sure we have a language of our own in this part of west cork ha ha
Love the heal of bread, it will always be my favourite 😍
Nothing beats homemade soda bread, maybe a blah or milk pan!
Nice idea😉
Aw God Bless yis both.
I'm so sorry my name was associated with the breaking of your carnivore diet - It must've been pure torture & temptation smelling it as it cooked!
But take some (small) comfort in the fact it was worse for me not getting to have a slice with Irish butter melting into it 😢
Great job Clare!!
Haha sure we had you hanging long enough, and yes the Irish butter melting on top was far too tempting!
Looking good, it's the little bits at the end that take forever isn't it
Is it what! 🙈
“Classic” doing a LOT of heavy lifting in this vid😂
haha, those days are never really gone ;)
The flower you’ve been given is an Aster, I think. Love the videos 😍
Oh thank you! 😊
That was the first time I’ve known the song! Soda bread is 👌
Well done you! 😁
Have a happy
😊
I need half of a heifer lol my goodness that's a lot of meat. I love meat! Can't afford it sadly lol that's how we are in America now if you're poor you can't afford food. I guess I should move back to Ireland lol I took the recipe for the soda bread because my husband loves soda bread because he's from Belfast Northern Ireland he misses The taste of home. Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖
The half heifer believe it or not would possibly work out cheaper than buying meat weekly. The soda bread is a simple one which my son seems to love, just made a quick one today ☺️
@@WestCorkWander I went online to look where I can find fresh farm meat. Yes it would be much cheaper.
My Mom still makes a loaf bread that was always called Irish Bread but there isn’t a morsel of soda in it. It’s supposed to be an old Cork recipe & it’s been handed down in our family
I’ve met 2 other people who have the recipe & one is from Cork (the other is from Dingle)
Anyway, it’s a sweetened bread that’s almost like a scone. It’s made with raisins & again, no soda (baking powder instead)
Anyway, it’s delicious & definitely not on the carnivore diet
My Mom & I make yeast bread of many varieties but no soda bread 😊 take care ✌️♥️🍁🍂🤎
How interesting to make it with raisins, sound a bit like a barn brack that we have here at Halloween😊
Naming that tune ... Joan Osbourne - One of us ... 1995 !!!!
You got it 😁
for your stat you need a 35mm deep box you have a standard 25 mm one there
Believe it or not it's actually a 35mm deep box. We had hoped for more advice and instruction from the pack/supplier, so the electrician made the call 😊

Yeah, soon I will have my third postcard!
The ZIP code has to be put in front of the town's name when you place my address :)
Thankyou so much, I will hopefully remember the Zip code info!
Remove loaf from tin then put back in oven until bottom sounds hollow, just saying.😊❤❤
Thanks Maureen 😁
Song Quiz Question - What if God was one of us - Joan Osbourne?
You got it 👍
Not sure if I’ve mentioned it before but Rooney needs a puppy to play with 😊
Very tempted 😉
That lightshade needs dusting 😮
I was so embarrassed about that, but I couldn't refilm the soda bread so it had to stay there 🙈
"#guess that tune". I'm a 70s / 80s /90s music guru. If you've any grant money left are whistling lessons available? I've got a few of them with answers that are very Irish "ack it's your woman " and "that was in the watchmacallit film". Really enjoy the out of the bkue music quiz ish thing. Possible you element in your RUclips?😅😅😅😅
Hahah, 😂😂😂
Make sure to eat a lot of fat on carnivore, especially Claire ❤
Yes, we are learning all of this as we go, thankyou 🙂
Yes, we are learning all of this as we go, thankyou 🙂
@@WestCorkWander Me too🤗
seen several video's.. Rob won't give you anymore views... He Hates everything.. Doesn't seem to like anything.. Its offputting.. (for viewers).. I'm a diehard.. and a forgiving viewer.. but even I .. There a lot of other ways to say its hard.. (which i believe/agree to) Claire is the leader.. and putting in the hard work (keep Rob going) But hé you're only making this video's for your own familyarchive's afterall...Or ?
You clearly need to watch a few more videos lol!
Then you'll soon see it has always been a team endeavour, made even more unique as they never get any outside help whatsoever.
They've smashed it a couple from the get go.

@san39 I'm sorry to hear this. I guess the build isn't always a walk in the park and it would be wrong of us to cover up the nightmares and have everything always go right. Rob has been solely responsible for the entire build structurally from ordering to calculating, so really my work is nothing in comparison. He has planned the entire build from the start and we have completed everything, just ourselves, no outside help. We have noted this though, and thankyou for your comment 🙂
Claire your a diamond! Yea you get on with it,Rob moans too much, bit of putting as he moans every vlog, your work is always good Claire.
