RGC 1404, formerly Gogledd Cymru (Welsh for "North Wales"; pronounced [ˈgɔglɛð ˈkəmrɨ]), is a rugby union development team announced by the Welsh Rugby Union in September 2008.
History[edit]
Although an amateur North Wales rugby representative side had existed for over 50 years, Gogledd Cymru was established by the North Wales Rugby Council, in February 2007, in response to the WRU approved strategic plan for the development of rugby union in the region. This aimed to achieve a north Wales side playing in the Welsh Premier Division by 2010-11 In their first season Gogledd Cymru reached the final of the Welsh Counties Cup.
Rugby is the National Sport of Wales and is a sport i used to play as a younger man, although i never took it beyond my school days. A cracking game, very physical, and you can truly appreciate the human body as it gets a damn good thrashing and beating out on the field. A gentlemans sport in that you give the bloke in front of you a damn good drubbing and buy him a pint afterwards.
I was passing Eirias Park on the way to Colwyn Bay to buy a monopod from Cambrian Photography, great shop, call in if you need something and support a local business. Good range of bits and a knowledgable and friendly staff.
On the way home i noticed htere was a bit of ruggers about so i stopped to test it out. To be honest i have no idea who is/was playing but i turned up at half time and didnt have to pay fuck all to go in and watch. Typically the memory card was nearly full when i got there, and the usual flat battery bollocks on the camcorder. Tripod worked fairly well though! Cracking game, Ive got a fixture listing so might very well go down again if i find myself passing on a saturday.

Pretty good match going on there. Always have enjoyed watching it on sports tv, but it never has taken off over here. Too bad though, good sport.
