- In this video I talk about the rear fuel delivery system on a 1972 Mercedes 350 SL with the Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection system.

Bosch fuel pump - Bosch 0580464021, check valve kit Bosch 1587010536 Note: Bosch also advise pump 0580 464 999 (Mercedes 0010917101) as being D-Jetronic compatible but it is a 4-bar pump so even higher than the original pump. It is also more expensive, but appears to be the pump you receive if you ask a parts supplier for a replacement pump for a D-Jetronic system.

I have -71 SL with D-jetronic so nice info you give here.
Great info guys i vaguely remember ther is a potential hazard using a non d jet pump in these cars. Many pumps will work but i remember somethin about if the pressure regulator get blocked the pressure can rise realy high beyond spec. I believe the original d jet pump had an internal bypass of sorts . I have a 280sel 4.5 same engine and djet so i resisted the temptation. I will try and dig up the specs
A lot of very useful information here. I have a 420 SL in poor shape and I'm struggling to know where to start. Thank you for sharing you expertise.
my djet 450sl stalls when i tap the gas after the engine bay gets hot, and she won't turn over until i've given the car at least 6 hours to cool off. You think this pump would fix it?
I would test the fuel pressure first to see if it’s correct - if it’s low that could be the pump, or regulator not set correctly. I think I have another video on the pressure test.
