    Firstly, an appreciation to the NLTV for bringing this matter to light and spreading awareness of such activities.
    But here, I would like to highlight one aspect- running and chasing after a person under suspicion without having the root proof is a violation of an individual's right. In such a case the media is not being professional, prior proper knowledge is to be maintained and there are other ways to handle the situation.
    Of course, Article 19(1)(a) encourages autonomous journalism but you should be aware of Article 21 of the Indian Constitution which protects everyone's right to privacy under the protection of life and personal liberty. Media should be very conscious of the acts they put up on social platforms.

    I don't disagree NLTV tackling this prostitution but like the shopkeeper lady said 'she is level as that of prostitutes because she runs a shop in the locality.
    Many non-locals are scared of interviews so they will run even if they are not prostitutes. I feel it's not right to chase them for an interview as a reporter.
    It hampers one's liberty specially freedom of choice (to speak or not).
    And this prostitution is 99% an instability compulsion and not a desire on a person to earn livelihood this way.
    This doesn't meant I support prostitution but i personally feel interviews should not be coercives/derogatory.

      If we do that 50% of the naga girls will be in jail. Even naga girls with over 10k instagram followers are all linked up with different hotels. They come in cars and go back in cars, transported by their pimps. In Lahonrijan during the evening hours, naga girls are openly carried in two wheelers to different hotels. Outside of Nagaland too they work in shady places. Imagine a small a population from a small state fulfilling all the needs of Bangladeshi, Delhi, Bangalore and other metro cities 😂. No wonder why lots of naga girls are ending up as Spencers. Even after marriage they can't cook, they don't want to work but control all the money and make all the business decisions. The result was nagas investing only in real estate and hardly any start ups. 😂

    Why those people turn to prostitution as a last resort? Do you know the what, how and why of their present circumstances? If they are doing it for their livelihood, let it be. And if you are offended by their act, employ them in some dignified sector, if you can. Why should the blame be only on those prostitutes, what about their clients. The world will be filled with both good and evil but ultimately the choice is yours. If you want to blame someother for your lack of self control, its nonsense.

    No work in this world is absolutely right or wrong. Having said that, prostitution is a practice/ profession naturally born out of necessity where both the service providers and the customers fulfill their needs. And in my opinion it does more good than bad contrary to the general view of our discriminatory and hypocritical society. So knowing that it is a natural necessity, we should rather try to improve its quality instead of trying to stop this unstoppable natural practice.

      There are absolute rights and wrongs though. These people also need to be taught safe methods, while helping them with other better skills which they can earn a living from, and minimize their number as best as it can be. Strict rules they should follow should also be made, like no forceful or trafficking kind of things, or underaged. And most of the girls will not do this if they had a beter source of income

    • @njaminak1969
      @njaminak1969 Год назад +1

      @@Rin_Chawngthu I said nothing is absolutely right or wrong; but you say there are things which are absolutely right or wrong. And the fact that you contradict my statement/ view justifies my statement/ view that there's nothing which is absolutely right or absolutely wrong . And as far as trafficking of women for sex- trade and involvement of minors / underaged girls are concerned I am totally against them as much as many other people like you are; but unfortunately these practices cannot be eradicated as there are people in human society who think these practices are right, because "action speaks louder than words". Finally, regarding the do's and don'ts and training for alternative employment I think my view of focussing on quality will cover these issues. Thank you.

      Prostitution is a natural practice like you said, but how do you explain about these prostitutes occupying public space and turning it into their activities spot? Not only bringing shame to the people in that area, but also spreading deadly diseases through their works.
      Also.. For guys who are in desperate need of pleasure, there are many other ways to dip their pole into. What makes you think prostitution is the answer? I'm not sure what inspired you to support this practice, I also know that this practice isn't illegal, but through supports like this, their businesses are spreading.
      If they don't have public support on this, and if people knows what decency and self respect is, these prostitutes would've never found a place in society in the first place. Think about it

    Prostitution is considered as a legal profession in India according to the latest judgment passed in 2022 by a three-judge bench of the Supreme Court. The three-judge bench of Justices was L Nageswara Rao, BR Gavai, and AS Bopanna. The SC said that sex workers are entitled to dignity and equal protection under the law. Prostitution is not explicitly illegal in India, however, according to the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 (ITPA) certain actions that facilitate prostitution are explicitly illegal. These actions include managing a brothel, living off the money earned through prostitution, soliciting or luring a person into prostitution, trafficking children and women for prostitution, etc
