After doing this 2 years full time I wanted to share with you a little more about what I learnt in terms of the economics about being a RUclipsr as well as share in detail how we get paid. Remember everyone has different aspirations in life and what your ideal income would be will differ from others & theres nothing wrong with whatever that is whether it is high or low. This video is made so that you can understand more about my financial situation and also learn so that you can decide whether this is the right path for you and remember these are all my own experiences and will be a different experience for someone else.

There has been a lot of discussion as to whether RUclipsrs get paid when you skip ads. This is what I know from the google support forums.
"With TrueView in-stream ads, you pay when a viewer watches 30 seconds of your video (or the duration if it's shorter than 30 seconds) or engages with your video, whichever comes first. "
This basically translates that advertisers only get charged when the full 30 seconds is watched or if a use clicks on their ad. If you skip after 5 seconds then they get charged for 5 seconds which I assume is such a small amount that after we take our cut of 55% of 1,000 views it does not amount to much. That being said I want to clear up we do get paid somewhat but just a small fraction and they don't mention how much it is charged at so I'm not sure :)!! Hope this helps clear up some of the speculations :) This area is ALWAYS changing so this information may be outdated very soon if Google changes their policies so it's always important to keep up to date if you're curious about these things :)

I hope to make it full time, I tried to make it full time but I doubt it'll even put food on the table for me CURRENTLY, so I guess I'd have to get another job for now.. But until I make it a lot bigger, somewhere like where you are at right now, I'd make it full time (Even though I'm posting twice a week) I know 2016 is going to be my year! Your story and how you stopped your 6 figure job for RUclips and your drive for RUclips really did give me a boost in mine.

This was a great explanation. She doesn't flat out say the numbers but if you follow along, you can get it. Basically if you have 1 million views, 600,000 of the views are counted. Divide that by 1,000 views (how they get paid) and multiply it by anywhere from $1-$5. So as an example, for every 1 million views you get, you can make $600-$3000 on your video.

-‘Beauty Gurus’ get paid more than (e.g.) gaming because more brands are willing to pay to have their ads/sponsors in someone’s video
-RUclipsrs do NOT get paid for comments, likes or SUBSCRIBERS!! It’s the views that count

love the advice! RUclips is a long game, it doesn't happen instantly.
i really hate the aspect of paid for views because people pimp out their kids and pets trying to get viral videos. it's only entertaining if they didn't intend it to be viral, and now people are trying so hard. plus you can buy views so it's like an investment in yourself.
in general youtube was cool when it first started but now it's become so commercial and infested with people who steal content to make money, the entire internet is overflowing with this. it's an oversaturated market.
that being said, I like this channel, and this girl. I like more of these channels and less channels of morons commenting on other people's content, that's not original.
+annie b I agree with you 100%, You Tube has created some real monsters. I didn't realize people got paid until recently and then it turned me off. People throw up titles like "kissing my mother" and other sick things to attract viewers. It's a real pimp mentality now.
But you do have to sign up for your account to be monetized too. RUclips is automatically set up to pay you.

In NYC , a tiny shoe box apartment will easily cost you minimum $5k per month depending on where in the city. Mostly, however, apartments range in the thouusands and millions. So yea.....maybe Sydney Australia not as expensive..... I love Sydney, beautiful! Will take an apartment there over one in NYC anytime. :-)
