There has been a lot of discussion as to whether RUclipsrs get paid when you skip ads. This is what I know from the google support forums. "With TrueView in-stream ads, you pay when a viewer watches 30 seconds of your video (or the duration if it's shorter than 30 seconds) or engages with your video, whichever comes first. " This basically translates that advertisers only get charged when the full 30 seconds is watched or if a use clicks on their ad. If you skip after 5 seconds then they get charged for 5 seconds which I assume is such a small amount that after we take our cut of 55% of 1,000 views it does not amount to much. That being said I want to clear up we do get paid somewhat but just a small fraction and they don't mention how much it is charged at so I'm not sure :)!! Hope this helps clear up some of the speculations :) This area is ALWAYS changing so this information may be outdated very soon if Google changes their policies so it's always important to keep up to date if you're curious about these things :)

This was a great explanation. She doesn't flat out say the numbers but if you follow along, you can get it. Basically if you have 1 million views, 600,000 of the views are counted. Divide that by 1,000 views (how they get paid) and multiply it by anywhere from $1-$5. So as an example, for every 1 million views you get, you can make $600-$3000 on your video.

Charlotte Lewis You create an Adsense account thru Google. put in your bank account direct deposit. Then click MONETIZE on each Video. What she forgot to say was be careful not to use copyright music. They are very strict about that. Also reach out to businesses. You should also have other high traffic social media links on your description box and CONTACT link for businesses to reach out to you. Your Google Adsense should start getting more traffic once you get your first $100.00 dollars. Sometimes that jump starts the process. It's like that first $100 minimum direct deposit gives you ADs that help your channel.
I'm in my final year on college as a civil engineering student I just found out how much I love making videos and can't stop. Now I'm finding it hard to attend classes and do my assignments.. cause all the time was spent on making videos. AND I JUST CAN'T STOP

i really hate the aspect of paid for views because people pimp out their kids and pets trying to get viral videos. it's only entertaining if they didn't intend it to be viral, and now people are trying so hard. plus you can buy views so it's like an investment in yourself. in general youtube was cool when it first started but now it's become so commercial and infested with people who steal content to make money, the entire internet is overflowing with this. it's an oversaturated market. that being said, I like this channel, and this girl. I like more of these channels and less channels of morons commenting on other people's content, that's not original.

This was a great explanation. She doesn't flat out say the numbers but if you follow along, you can get it. Basically if you have 1 million views, 600,000 of the views are counted. Divide that by 1,000 views (how they get paid) and multiply it by anywhere from $1-$5. So as an example, for every 1 million views you get, you can make $600-$3000 on your video.

What she forgot to say was be careful not to use copyright music. They are very strict about that. Also reach out to businesses. You should also have other high traffic social media links on your description box and CONTACT link for businesses to reach out to you.
Your Google Adsense should start getting more traffic once you get your first $100.00 dollars.
Sometimes that jump starts the process. It's like that first $100 minimum direct deposit gives you ADs that help your channel.

I loved making them but I dunno.. I recently left school as I needed to escape from social and education issues. I am planning on getting into a few makeup courses and I was thinking of starting a new channel. My goal is to get my confidence back up and show my love for making videos. i really hate the aspect of paid for views because people pimp out their kids and pets trying to get viral videos. it's only entertaining if they didn't intend it to be viral, and now people are trying so hard. plus you can buy views so it's like an investment in yourself.
in general youtube was cool when it first started but now it's become so commercial and infested with people who steal content to make money, the entire internet is overflowing with this. it's an oversaturated market.
that being said, I like this channel, and this girl. I like more of these channels and less channels of morons commenting on other people's content, that's not original.
