@@Bob-sb7sp Around 10% of Taiwanese actually live in China, these people will most likely have no bad feelings towards China, but there's a large group of Taiwanese in Taiwan island, who do have a lot of hatred towards China. These people are very indoctrinated by Western propaganda, they are clueless about the reality, you'll find many of these Chinese in Hong Kong too.
I've never seen people as racist as they are towards mainland Chinese, I've even never heard Westerners speak like that about Chinese people...

There is no need to convince me before you can convince your own country.

@@slchoong007 No it wasn't. The ROC were given a caretaker role until an officially treaty was written.
When Japan relinquished its sovereignty of Taiwan with The Treaty of San Francisco after the ROC invaded the Japanese island, China was not even invited. The treaty was signed by 49 nations but both the ROC and CCP were NOT present.
Article 10 stipulates that “nationals of the Republic of China shall be deemed to include all the inhabitants and former inhabitants of Taiwan (Formosa) and Penghu (the Pescadores).”
Therefore the Taipei Peace Treaty transferred Japans sovereignty of Taiwan to ALL the inhabitants living of the island NOT to mainland China.
The inhabitants in 1952 were the ROC escapees, Taiwanese Aborigines, Japanese descendants, Dutch descendants, Portuguese descendants, previous Chinese descendants. THE ISLAND WAS NOT HANDED TO MAINLAND CHINA.

What "Western Media" always ignores that Taiwan has very significant social and economic ties with China - a LOT of Taiwanese have relatives in China, so for them, an improvement in connections would be extremely beneficial. Be also aware that the current "ruling party" were entirely bank-rolled by US based NGOs, and the majority of the votes in the most recent elections went to "pro-reunification" parties.
