The front screen cover is an optional add on. However, from our experience and customer feedback, we haven't received complaints about how it feels. The real wood had a nice natural feel to it, and the edges soften over time as well.
Yes. Magsafe works through the wood. But the magnet grip is reduced slightly. If you need a strong magnet hold (car mount or wallet) you can add the MagSafe magnet ring option. With that we embed a magnet ring in the wood for a super secure grip.

Can you put a clear case ontop of this?
We have some customers do that. It needs to be a very soft and flexible clear case.
