अहिल्यानगर येथे सुरू असलेल्या 67 व्या महाराष्ट्र केसरी स्पर्धेचा निकाल लागला. त्यामध्ये पुण्याच्या पृथ्वीराज मोहोळने बाजी मारली. त्याने सोलापूरच्या महेंद्र गायकवाडचा पराभव केला आणि महाराष्ट्र केसरीचा खिताब पटकावला. या विजयानंतर पृथ्वीराज मोहोळच्या समर्थकांनी एकच जल्लोष केला. पृथ्वीराज मोहोळच्या विजयानंतर राज्याचे उपमुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार यांच्या हस्ते त्याला चांदीची गदा आणि थार गाडी देण्यात आली. यावेळी केंद्रीय मंत्री मुरलीधर मोहोळ, राज्याचे मंत्री दत्तात्रय भरणे उपस्थित होते.
