75035 Photographic Charter

Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway based British Railways Standard Four 75014 visited the Churnet Valley Railway for the start of 2024 season. On Monday 4th March a 30742 Photo Charter was held through the area known as Little Switzerland with 75014 on four Mark one carriages in BR Maroon livery.
The event saw a recreation of a former local Stoke engine, 75035. A wonderful morning was had a Consall alongside the Caldon Canal, before moving onto Basford and then the Ipstones Branch in the Staffordshire Moorland, when the weather became more challenging. The locomotive was turned on the Leek triangle early afternoon, before returning to the long straight facing South. The weather was a lot duller in the afternoon, and we move into black and white.

I do love the big noisy S160's, the churnet valley is so photo/ video genic it deserve the variety. Hopefully the 4F will stick around once it has been overhauled

44422 is the CVR’s flagship so she will be staying around after overhaul but there are a few locomotives in front of her in the overhaul queue
