    What do you think about the skulptor ts500?

    • @shoetiquemusic
      @shoetiquemusic  4 месяца назад +1

      I like them! They impart a really nice vibe on drums or mix buses. That said I do wish the unit was as a stereo one. I very rarely use a single mono unit. You have to mess around with the drive and output controls a bit to get them synced up.

  • @stefanhambleton4808
    @stefanhambleton4808 10 месяцев назад +2

    Have you tried using the two of them on a stereo mix? Is it difficult to get the units to react in a similar way?

    • @shoetiquemusic
      @shoetiquemusic  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Stefan! I've used this on stereo mixes a few times. The units react very similarly but they are not exactly the same. I think this pair could have been even tighter if I had opted for entirely 1% tolerance components. There are some parts like the concentric pots where I have no idea how you could get the tolerances low enough to make the two units perform identically. That said you can get pretty close. The vocals example in the video is actually a stereo bus with several vocal tracks mixed and panned. The blue line is the left channel and the green line is the right channel ruclips.net/video/iubz0XtbJh8/видео.html.
      Full disclaimer: In this example I set the units to where they sounded good and didn't worry too much about them being exactly the same. It turns out that they were pretty darn close when I looked with Bertom.

      @stefanhambleton4808 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@shoetiquemusic Yeah that's what I was thinking, the passive stuff is fairly easy to measure and match but the pots are just going to throw it all out. Reckon that's the way to go, dial them in close and not get too hung up if it's not perfect. Cheers!

    Does this EQ require two hands?

    • @shoetiquemusic

      More mics to come in the not too distant future. If you can find me plans for a DIY DAW I could complete the entire signal chain!
