Can't with the name change... but will say that I think all their voices are fitting excluding Wei Ying's. I think Tattsun's voice isn't quite doing it for me. His anime VA was better (Ryohei Kimura). I also prefer Shinnosuke Tachibana for Lan Zhan too (in the anime). But damn, Midorikawa for Jiang Cheng is soooo perfect and fitting.
I cant get used to tattsun‘s voice on WWX 😂 But Jin Ling‘s, JC‘s and Sizhui‘s voices are so fitting I wanna hear more of Lan Zhan‘s voice 💓 too bad he doesnt talk much 😂 Aside from the new names I like this Japanese version

I now understand what they meant by Lan Zhan speaking poetically. He literally speaks in all kanji. (It's a joke but I now kind of understand what he may have been doing in Mandarin)

He is a mature wei wuxian, instead of sounding like a teen or a man in his 20', he sounds like a 30yo man, the age he would have been if he hadn't died, it's a different interpretation of the character, but still interesting
Can someone please explain to me if the "Kun" of "Gankou-Kun" is a name? The Japanese people add "-kun" to the names of young or close people as a term of affection, right? They're obviously not calling Hanguang-Jun affectionately when they're calling him Gankou-Kun, right? 🤔
Everyone's Japanese-dub names are based on the Japanese readings of their Chinese names. Hanguang Jun is written as 含光君, if you use the Japanese reading of each character then it comes out as Gankou Kun. "Kun" is not being used as an honorific here, that's just how you read 君 in Japanese.

Having listened to both dubs the past year (what I can find of the audio drama anyways), I think both are good and suit the different portrayals of Jin Ling in both adaptations. Audio drama Jin Ling is very bratty which Murase is great at, while donghua Jin Ling is more haughty/snobby which is right up Kaji's alley. They would probably sound different if they swapped positions.

The VA is Hikaru Midorikawa. Famous senior voice actor, i can say one of the best VAs and actually my favorite Japanese VA too
