I feel like this is far better than a Macan! The size and style alone make it more practical for daily use plus it’s the best looking car in the segment alongside an X4M competition. This is a knockout!
Nice review. I had a grecale modena as a loaner for a week and while I enjoyed it I don't think it's as true to the brand as the levante trofeo. Drive the 2 back to back and the v8 in the levante will draw you in. I purchased the levante trofeo after debating between the two...
I loathe flying, but when i have to, I will overdress. So yes, I’d buy a Grecale but I couldn’t afford it so I drive an Alfa Romeo Stelvio and i love it. 😂
Todd, you kept mentioning the other brands that you would buy, but when you add in all the options on a Porsche or BMW, you would be as expensive or more expensive.🇮🇹🇮🇹
F pace SVR also kind of fits between macan and cayenne….and has a SC v8 that just sings and arguably handles better than the grecale You guys should review the f pace SVR
The GV70 is a wonderful alternative for the base Macan. We would pick either over the lower trims of this. And this upper trim Grecale is 50% more than the upper trim GV70 even if you don't get the crazy paint. Thanks for watching!
In 2024, apparently a V6 is an aspirational engine. This is why the lack of distinction between all of these models between brands is going to lead to the downfall of many of them. 4 cylinders and hybrids can only be given so much character unfortunately, when cars are skateboard battery packs with electric motors I can't see why it's worth picking one over another.
The Italian name "Grecale", could be translated as Greek wind, as the Gregale is a wind which starts at the Ionian Island Zakynthos. But that still doesn't explain the sudden facial hair. The profile is a bit.... "Healthy".... But as with the Grand Cherokee we should expect anything made on the Giorgio platform to be beefy. Its just odd when its not lifted up so much.
Right @stevem. & Wow that Maserati looks amazing especially in that combo but for that price I wish it had subtle bits of yellow and white leather to the door cards lighten up the interior or custom black yellow pin stripes floor mats give it a complete look otherwise it’s beautiful. Makes me wonder what the levante will be like in its new design.
They could have put nicer shift select buttons on the dash like an Aston as opposed to cheap plastic buttons. The fact that they use a bunch of Alfa parts shows that going forward Alfa is going to be moving down steam.
Since Stelantis has taken over Maserati, their quality has gone WAY up and I do love the Italian styling. The interior looks and feels great, the smell of that Italian leather the Trofeo is as fast as you need. BUT for a starting price of $104k for the top trim, on a compact SUV, is absurd tbh. Also, everyone knows what happens to the value of new Maseratis after a year or 2... this will be used for half price.
Paddles on the steering wheel are for the dealer to sell the car, and they rarely get used. Paddles on the steering column are for people who actually are going to use them.
OMG, I could not agree more. It is so funny, that I was thinking of the same number. I like Maserati a lot but somehow, I can never justify their price.
Todd please tell us the new look was an inside joke having something to do with testing a Maserati! My 4 year old was watching this with me.... Until she ran out of the room yelling "Stranger Danger!!" Terrific video, as always, however.
Daily driving a variation of the MC20 engine… that does not sound like a good idea. These things will be absolute basket cases in six years, after being driving 80,000 miles by SUV drivers who don’t understand maintenance. I’m prepping the popcorn now.
I could drive 3 of my cars through that $19,000 paint and still have a few grand left over. I would have to sell my 2 most valuable cars to afford that paint.
Sadly, the cost of the car screams overpriced to the point of rip-off. Add historical reliability issues and depreciation, and I don't understand why someone would buy the Grecale. Maserati is trying but either they need to bring quality and luxury up or reduce prices. So far, they are the biggest waste of money out there with Alfa Romeo.
So buy a 40-inch touch screen with a McPherson front suspension BMW and leave this Maserati with the expensive double-wishbone for people who choose the engine and the chassis as the #1 priority when choosing a car.
**breaks out into song and dance** why cant dashboards have (drum hit) real needles? They sweep up and down, and they spin around! Why can't dashboards have (drum hit) real needles? I'm tired of screens, they're not my scene!
Oh... oh no... OH NO>>> OHNO OHNO OH NONONONONONONONONO the dedicated analog clock is a SCREEN???? what the HELL?? What is the point of that???? The whole point of having a clock in the dashboard of a high end car is it's like a quality timepiece! It's craftsmanship! Not programming????? What is the world coming to!?!?! I can understand why the gauge cluster is a screen, even though I don't like it, they can provide you more information, navigation, media, etc. But the clock??? It's just a circle that tells time!!!! If having a clock built into your dashboard is pretentious, what is it when its a screen pretending to be a clock??? ICK ICK ICK ICKY no no no This Maserati could be $15 and a ham sandwich, and I'd rather have $15 and a ham sandwich. And I hate ham so I'd just throw the sandwich away. You can't pay me to drive around in a car with a dedicated analog clock screen in the dashboard. Fire. Fire will cleanse it. Brb going to set my eyes on fire.
The X5 M Comp starts at $122k and without trying I built one to $139k. The Grecale Trofeo starts at $105k and leave off the $19k paint option that this one came with you are still $10k cheaper than what the X5 M Comp starts at.
@@phattyhales I am talking about this one. This was the video and I was specifically speaking to this. Without the plaint job it falls into the glc amg and X3 comp. That’s another problem. Just like the fellas said the problem is the price with this, they would take the amg and M over this
Wow that goatee appeared out of nowhere
The darkest timeline
@@theCycleReport LOL Mirror Universe Todd
And the new intro for the channel. 😮
We needed a warning to start the video
The pony tail removes the lateral G indicator/reference lol. Todd’s hair at 40 degrees meant Paul was pushing the car to 8 tenths lol.
Todd’s new look was more of a surprise than the $19k paint!
Todd with that jazz band bassist look
I have opinions on Todd's facial hair, but the only opinions that matter are his wife's. If he's got her approval, we can live with whatever.
The Richard Hammond look
He's transitioning to Comic Book Guy! Nooooooo!
I feel like this is far better than a Macan! The size and style alone make it more practical for daily use plus it’s the best looking car in the segment alongside an X4M competition. This is a knockout!
Agree with Paul, Trofeo is more worth it than the 4-cylinders, just skip the pricey paint! But the Stelvio QV is the better Italian Alt buy to me.
Grecale is a very good car! I really like driving it!
Lookin sharp Todd!
Hi, from Japan. Finally, Everyday Driver Motor Company released the new gen of Todd!! Good exterior♪♪ Interior is good as always(^^)
For 19k…the interior should feature yellow accents and stitching everywhere.
Nice review. I had a grecale modena as a loaner for a week and while I enjoyed it I don't think it's as true to the brand as the levante trofeo. Drive the 2 back to back and the v8 in the levante will draw you in. I purchased the levante trofeo after debating between the two...
17:42 The word you're looking for is...affection.
And loving Darth Todd's new look!

Thanks for the great review.
Would be great to hear your comparison of this with a Jaguar F-Pace SVR.
Todd, you kept mentioning the other brands that you would buy, but when you add in all the options on a Porsche or BMW, you would be as expensive or more expensive.🇮🇹🇮🇹
F pace SVR also kind of fits between macan and cayenne….and has a SC v8 that just sings and arguably handles better than the grecale

You guys mentioned the Macan, where would you put the GV70 in this mix?

Any reason to get this over an F Pace SVR in the 'premium alt between a Cayenne and Macan' market? Paint aside..
Jaguar is done. They are closing up their dealerships.
The supercharged V8.
you guys need to come out with a book of all the roads you drive, that would be pretty awesome
First, great goatee. Second, this is no for me. I did some cursory math 3.0 GR Supra AND an IONIQ 5 N can both be had for less.
The Italian name "Grecale", could be translated as Greek wind, as the Gregale is a wind which starts at the Ionian Island Zakynthos. But that still doesn't explain the sudden facial hair.

So when it breaks you are technically breaking wind?
Was distracted by Todd's new look and missed most of the test drive! Got his Mirror Universe look going on.

Digging the facial hair Todd! Got a bit of a Highlander vibe to it!
Looks more like a grand highlander to me.
They could have put nicer shift select buttons on the dash like an Aston as opposed to cheap plastic buttons.
The fact that they use a bunch of Alfa parts shows that going forward Alfa is going to be moving down steam.
Goatee and a ponytail…how long before he starts talking about he and his wife’s adventures in “the lifestyle”?
What SoCal road is this? I have a little YOLO gift to myself coming and need to learn which roads to take her to.
That’s the next t-shirt “Mechanical Emotions” with Maserati vehicles silhouettes, and a giant pickle fork on the back
Finally, a paint that justifies the cost of PPF and ceramic magic pixie juice!
And possibly, a second mortgage... Thanks for watching!
Had to watch twice as the first time I was disoriented for at least 30min with the new Todd

Pretty much captures the essence, buy with your heart not your head like all great Italian cars😂
There's plenty of discount already on this car brand new, don't worry about the price.
To quote the artist Kesha: I like your beard.
This Maserati looks eerily like a Jaguar
Todd out here looking like he moonlights as a bank robber!
I was waiting for them to mention how some of the interior is obviously parts-shared with the Grand Cherokee and Hornet.
I said "who's that new man driving"......until I heard the voice lol
In the time it took to watch this video, the Maserati depreciated 20k.
Paddles on the steering wheel are for the dealer to sell the car, and they rarely get used. Paddles on the steering column are for people who actually are going to use them.
Looks like an amazing $40k car😂😂😂😂
OMG, I could not agree more. It is so funny, that I was thinking of the same number. I like Maserati a lot but somehow, I can never justify their price.
Nice paint.
Ahh yes. 135k for something the color of a 2002 wrx and the face of a kia cadenza......when's the last time you thought about the Candenza?
When, you said the Price. I turned off the Review. I thought 35k...
This is will sell slightly better than the new electric Lotus SUV. In other words, most people will never see one in person.
Car brands like Maserato, Aston, or Alfa Romeo never become EV only manufacturers
Todd please tell us the new look was an inside joke having something to do with testing a Maserati! My 4 year old was watching this with me.... Until she ran out of the room yelling "Stranger Danger!!" Terrific video, as always, however.
Also way more space than a macan. Had a macan s and it was a bit boring and limited rear space for the kids...
The Darkest Timeline in Grecale 😂
6 seasons and a movie!
I have the fix guys. Just don’t opt for the yellow paint, and get it wrapped in your own spicy color.. DONE!! Your welcome. 😊

Unpopular opinion, I think the designers of this car was inspired by the Honda HR-V, and I think the Honda might be more attractive 😂
Enormous badge on the grill just inches from the badge on the hood. Ugh, those screens are terrible.
Beautiful machine however reliability is a huge problem.

Isn't this what the Dodge is based on?

All that data that it shows you can be shown on any other screen too, and it would make more sense.
They’ll be in the $40k range within four years. Don’t be a fool and buy that paint.
LMAO, buy what you want, if you have to worry about depreciation, by a scooter!
@@annenominous7220 If I worried about depreciation, I would’ve never bought an Alfa 😂
So, terrible reputation for quality, terrible reputation for resale value -- AND a $19,000 paint color. Whatever.
Maserati is aimed at people with 450 credit scores 😂
That’s laughable price. An X5 M comp is cheaper
And that is king of suvs

Is it just me, or does this car look like a pregnant Suzuki Swift to anyone else?
Steven Seagal
That is... surprisingly ugly for a Maserati.
looks outdated outside
Who the cuss is that, in the red shirt?
