    What a great kit. I intend to study it. Wish you had given us the list of items for us lazy and new people who don't speak perfect radio and electronics. Still, one of the best such videos I've seen. The DeWalt battery idea is a game changer.

    Excellent and well thought out kit. I did not know the DeWalt batteries have that much power and the 20v to 12v ¿transformer? is fantastic. Well done. Thank you.

    The cig lighter in my vehicle I upgraded it with bigger wires and it uses a 20 amp fuse. Awesome build here. I will have to watch it a couple of times.

    This is 11:16 of inspiration to build my own Go Box. I have had a Plano box similar to this one that I got for Christmas 5 years ago and really didn't know what to do with it. Now I do! The DeWalt battery idea tops it all off. I have a whole dang shelf full of batteries to use now haha! Thank you. 73's KG5SLQ / WRYC758

    Very cool kit!! I have one question 😂 is it a 1) dog walking around
    2) birds walking on a roof or
    3) roof adjusting to temperature
    That is causing the cracking sounds in the background? 😂

    Where are you getting your radios from? I would love to have a 8180

      There is a local two way radio shop that is decommissioning them. Most radio shops are switching to digital protocols like DMR or P25. Check with your local radio dealers. I also buy in bulk 5+ radios at a time.

    Are there any fuses anywhere in-line with the power cables?? It doesn't look like there is any fuse protection. If that's a 50 watt radio you need a 20 amp fuse in-line with the positive wire at the least. Positive and negative is even better. The RigRunner is good but the way you have it connected without it is a setup for disaster. You really should take this video down. New guys are going to connect their radios like you did and fry them. If you are watching this video please use fuses so you don't destroy your radio. Do NOT connect your radio to a power supply or battery without fuses.

    • @radioguy1311
      @radioguy1311  Год назад

      It's a 30 watt max radio. The current draw is 5.7 amps. This is the way I set up my rig, it doesn't mean you have to set up your radio this way too. If you feel like you want a fuse, than add a fuse. If you build a similar set up and plug a red wire into a black wire and a black wire into a red wire perhaps you shouldn't be building electronic devices.

      @@radioguy1311 My concern would be that its a 20v battery but most radios only need 13v for operation so I would be concerned with damaging the radio. Or does the convertor step the voltage down??

    • @teddover2266
      @teddover2266 Год назад +1

      @@radioguy1311 disregard, went back in the video and seen where it steps it down to 12volt
