I just love watching your videos! It's just me and my husband at home now, so cooking for two is definitely a challenge for me. When our grandbabies spend the night, I always treat them to chocolate gravy and biscuits like my Mamaw did for me, my siblings and cousins. This recipe brings lots of wonderful memories when I make it. CHOCOLATE GRAVY 1 cup sugar 3 heaping Tbsp. all-purpose flour 3 level Tbsp. Hershey's cocoa 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring 3 cups milk Butter to taste Mix together dry ingredients and blend well, removing all lumps; set aside. Start warming milk over medium heat until it starts to bubble, being careful not to scorch it. When milk reaches boil, add dry ingredients and whisk continuously until you have reached desired consistency for your gravy. Remove from heat, add vanilla flavoring and butter, then blend. Serve over homemade biscuits. Enjoy!
I'm definitely gonna try this!! Love these traditional recipes and love how you share your tips from your grandma... U teach us alot mam... Stay safe during the storm ...
Miss Phyllis, my husband has been in the hospital since May, so I have quite a bit of time on my hands.( I am 66 and I retired to take care of him at home) I found your channel in July and have been watching all your videos. You are so wonderful and I love having you share all your wonderful recipes. I feel like my best friend is joining me for a cup of coffee and sharing recipes and stories. Thank you so much and God bless you, Mr. Bucky and all your family!
Looks so good! I'll be trying this one really soon! Thanks for sharing, Phyllis. Hope you & Mr. Bucky are both doing great! Praying a hedge of protection around y'all & the pups, from Michael. Please stay safe. God Bless.
You're makin' me look awfully good to my hubby with all these tasty meals and desserts I've been serving him ever since I found your channel a few months ago. We BOTH cannot thank you enough!
OMGoodness! What a great meal today! I love creamed cabbage. You do an amazing job of creating meals and videos for us! We are all so blessed by your labor Phyllis! Thank you for being so creative and diligent in your hard work, love to Mr. Bucky and the fur babies! Yummy for my tummy today! Lol! ☺️♥️🕊🙏🍁🐩🐩
Hope MIchael doesn't come around and bother you! That looks really good. My favorite comfort dessert: Baked Tapioca Pudding. In a heavy saucepan, combine 1/4 c Minute tapioca, 1/4 t salt, 1/2 c sugar and 4 cups milk (2% or whole milk). Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Lightly beat 3 eggs add a bit of the hot mixture to the eggs then stir in the eggs along with 1 t vanilla and 1 T butter. Pour into baking dish, sprinkle the top with cinnamon and nutmeg, and bake - in a water bath - at 325 for 45-55 min.
Looks delicious! I hope Michael doesn’t give y’all too much trouble. I’m worried about relatives in Dothan, Al and Savannah. Praying for all in Michael’s path. Much love to you and Mr Bucky.
Dear Phyllis in heaven I hope you know that all your past videos are being watched and enjoyed. Where I live a lot of your ingredients are not available. At the same time they can be adapted. I have to be gluten free so these lovely meals I can have my cook make for me. Because I am unable to walk or cook due to my age I find this a real delight to watch in the long evening hours. Thank you.
This looks so good & reminds me of what my great grandmother used to make, I had forgotten about this dish . Love making & eating recipes my great & grands made, close my eyes & it takes me back decades to wonderful moments ☺ with them !! 🐩🌻❤
That looks like it turned out quite yummy! Think I will try this, but also add a layer of sliced, browned kielbasa to it. Thank you Ms Phyllis n keep safe ♥️
That really does look delicious. I’m definitely going to make this. Also, I was really glad to hear you say you’re going to do some more viewer recipes. Thanks, Miss Phyllis. I’m really enjoying this a lot!

Creamed vegetables are my all time favorite! Never heard of creamed cabbage though but it’s gotta be good. My Granny used to make creamed peas right out of the garden. Oh good grief could she cook! A good rule of thumb for not having lumps in any sort of gravy or cream mixture is hot roux, cold liquid no lumps. Just dump it in. Same goes for hot liquid (or veggies) and cold roux no lumps. I know that wasn’t a true roux but the same principle applies. Thanks Miss Phyllis.
All your meals look so delicious Miss Phyllis! Im 20 years old and i've never really cooked in my life besides eggs and pancakes. You make everything look easier! God bless you and Mr. Bucky ❤️
Hi Phyllis, Mr. Bucky and kids "Steely, and the 1 & only Sunny". This recipe looks delicious, reminds me of a recipe my grandmother used to make... 🎶🍽let's 🍴 eat😀
The thumbnail of this video made me stop scrolling my daily feeds. I think you need to provide your viewers 24 hours notice of your upcoming meals as that would give us enough time to book a flight to eat with you. LOL. This creamed vegetables meal looks beyond filling and nutritious. I like meals with little to no meat.
This looks and sounds wonderful Mrs Phyllis!!! Whoever sent you this recipe I say thanks a million!!! I've never heard of crowder peas but they look good. Tyfs God bless you
Another yummy recipe! I like creamed cabbage :-) And this recipe is a nice variation of how I usually do it. Thank you for sharing and have a good week!
Watching this video make me hungry.😋 I learn alot by watching you cooking these meals. Thank you for taking the time to show us how to cook these lovely meals.🍴 I enjoy this video.😊👍
Miss Phyllis, I hope you and your lovely Home will weather the impending hurricane with minimal damage. I look forward to seeing your next video and hearing all is well after the storm passes.
Be safe, Miss Phyllis and Mr Bucky . Hope the storm misses your area. Also pray for all the people in the storm’s path. Love your recipes and also just listening to you as you cook. Feels like I am visiting your house. I pray you will be safe😊😊
My youngest son's favorite veggie is cabbage so I will have to try this. They would probably like it with a small chop or ham. Great idea so thanks for sharing.
A good home cooked meal to share! Never had Crowder peas. See if I can fine them here in Rhode Island. Maybe on Amazon...they sell everything. Thanks for the idea for a family dinner.
We love cabbage and have to try it. I've boiled it, fried it, and used it in slaw but I didn't know how to cream it. Over the years I've did a lot of canning to I Ms Phyllis but never added anything more than what was needed. Bush usually has good products .
I need to lose about 20 lbs so decided to eat veggie meals during the week and meat only on weekends. Still in the ??? Zone. I love cabbage so I’ll make this tomorrow. Thanks for the heads-up on Napa vs regular never tried it before. I’ve become addicted to your recipes your calm voice and all your other good advice. Your videos are my favorite pastimes now. Thank you so much!!!

Looks delicious! I remember seeing that comment about the creamed cabbage and thought it sounded yummy. Hubby isn't a vegetable fan so I'll have to make a tiny little casserole of this to satisfy myself now that I've seen yours. Keeping you in my prayers that the hurricane loses strength and won't do any damage to your area.
Such beautiful hands and a soothing voice. Gosh I miss her!
