I find the duality of the eccentric types of Masked Fools to be very entertaining, because Sampo used to be the guy no one trusted, but compared to Sparkle, he’s an upstanding citizen.
the fools are wild cards. sampo is a crook, sure, but he actively helped you when it came to saving jarilo VI. they are chaotic, but chaos isn't inherently malicious
you can trust all the masked fools to fall within the chaotic alignment. it's their morality and how they go about attaining "elation" that should be put into question

Yeah I think Sampo is a chaotic good character at best while Sparkle is Chaotic evil at worst.

Anyone notice Sampo acts a bit differently around Sparkle? Because I sussed her out almost immediately-- she didn't feel like Sampo the entire time she was pretending to be him. Now I can kind of see why... if he wants to make it hard for Sparkle to mimic him exactly, all he has to do is have a slight variation of his normal mask around her like he does here-- strategic af.
If he, now, wants to prevent a disaster coming to Jarilo-VI, what was he planning and doing there when the Stellaron crisis was happening?
@@Legenduckyin hindsight. One of his moves to bring you to the undercity helped to accelerate the plan to stop the crisis.. in his own chaotic way.
He acts like that because he feels uncomfortable, even if they work "together" he doesn't like Sparkle at all; he has limitations to following Aha's path whike she goes wild and doesn't care about others, he doesn't like that

@@netizen2475 but isn't the quest itself based on some memory bubble, which means while the quest (which includes the player going to get the memory bubble) is after the trailblaze mission, the contents of the memory could be something related to before the Jarilo 6 arc?
I noticed that Sampo acts weirdly when he’s near Sparkle which is why Sparkle mimic of Sampo is so weird. Also it’s nice we got confirmation that Giovanni is indeed a mask fool. I guess we might get a 5 star Sampo. Since he’s getting his mask back
The thing i love about the masked fools is that every time you meet one, you know you shouldn't trust them, plus they are all obnoxious in their own way,

@@s.a.m1845 he did. It was just as the op surmised, giovanni was kind off stalking you and march during the event. He was present in every venue that it arouse suspicion. But he was friendly regardless.
Maybe Sampo told him to do anything or it was under supervision by the company.
And for the comment of sparkle about a catastrophe, maybe Giovanni warned him about something that the company will try to do in Belobog and that's why he wants his mask back.

So Sampo WAS in Penacony with Sparkle and I am guessing there is a limitation to her disguising skill as she can only shift into people she has met in-person. Also, it is actually fitting that Sampo is a former Masked Fool and even fellow Masked Fools don't get along as Sampo's idea of a Masked Clown is less chaotic than Sparkle's version of a Masked Clown.
I don't think she has to meet the person to take their appearance, it's simply easier to act like someone if we know them and how they act.

Sampo doesn't seem to hate her, he dislikes her to a certain degree but is not disgusted with her. He just thinks that it's fine for her to cause trouble as long as he's not the one in the receiving end.
Don't we usually have a friend like that? We don't necessarily like all of our friends but at least not to the extreme.
Although Sampo and Sparkle may not think of each other as friends perhaps in their subconscious they consider each other as friends. Sometimes one may not fully understand one's own thoughts.
How should I put it, Sparkle tends to treat others like how you'd treat children. She's playful but sometimes I feel a contradictory attitude whenever she acts like a cute girl as if an old grandma pretending to be young.
As for Sampo... I do feel that he treats her with some respect.

Odd that someone as mysterious as Sampo would show their cards so easily to Sparkle, especially if he suspects she might want to go to Belobog and cause chaos. He's been pulling the strings throughout the entire Jarilo-VI arc and now you're telling me he just openly bargained to get his mask back? Either wanting to protect Belobog made him predictable, or he's not telling the whole story. I don't doubt he's a good guy at heart who wants to protect Jarilo-VI, but he's also a Masked Fool, they always have other motives.
I think you're forgetting hanabi is his friend. Sampo koski is ALWAYS there for his friends

Cuz he literally has connections with Giovanni... he can just get a ship to go there.
I mean he did arrive in Jarilo-VI all of a sudden and the Astral Express was in Xianzhou for quite a long time. It's not hard to guess he had help from Giovanni to leave the planet before the crew arrived in Penacony.
1) The Astral Express is moving in a direction akin to how it did when Aklivi was around. So they aren't taking alternative routes to get to their destination even if it might be more efficient.
2) Masked Fools have access to Ships and Topaz's trailer shows that Sampo has a debt with the IPC. Present Belobog didn't even know about the IPC until Topaz arrived meaning Sampo's not actually a native and has access to other civilizations.
3) The Astral Express WAS bound for Penacony right after Belobog but was forced to stop at the Xianzhou for an extended period of time. During that timeframe, Sampo was also looking for his mask and was hinted that Sparkle had it and that she was in Penacony. You can find this information in the Memory Bubble after the Aetherium Wars event.
