I just subscribed to your channel. I love the way you explain things in a softly spoken manner and are thorough in your description. That Fujica G690 looks like a lovely camera.

Totally agree with your praise for Ari's YT channel! Also, agree with your comment about the "Sunny 16" rule, at least, for B&W film photography. After 40+ years of shooting B&W film and many film tests on my densitometer, I've never had any subject matter in any light where that rule was applicable. Under certain conditions, it can be close but why not use a meter and nail the exposure (as you so eloquently suggest.)

I’m new to your channel…..what would your take on cameras such as Graflex or Linhof be? There are a few models that provide 6x9 film backs as well as 8x10 size film negatives. Thanks

I always wonder how Vivian Maer got all those photographs.
Tack sharp. Legendary levels of compositions. Buttery exposures.
How do you think she made those? Want to know your opinion on that (given your experience and all)..
Nice videos. Spit more truth. Cheers!

She mostly used medium format film cameras. That large negative is more forgiving on focus ( it does not have be enlarged as much as a 35mm negative). Her composition of each photo comes from both experience and nerve to shove her lens in people's life without fear. 😀

@@CarmineTavernaPhotography hahaa.. but I wanted your view on how she metered her scene? Sunny 16 or did she carry meter. Never seen her with a meter

Hi I want to ask you if there is any difference in the feel or output on 6x9 vs 2x3 frame apart from details. Is the composition on 2x3 same as 6x9 just in larger format? I know it will give me more details but will I see any different from point of view if I do exactly the same composition on those two different formats? Sorry Im not sure if I explained correctly what I want to ask you.

Hello, 2x3 is an old nickname for the film format of 2.25 inches x 3.25 inches. Coincidentally, 6x9 is the exact same size. 6cm = 2.36 inches and 9cm = 3.54 inches. So, whatever is true for 6x9, the same is true for "2x3". I hope this helps, but if you need anything just drop me a line at blackandwhitephoto@aol.com
