We spent the weekend at Stoke Row Steam and Vintage Rally admiring and of course displaying in the Model Tent. Friend Alan who does Hit or Miss and Flamegulpers also on RUclips, now fixes flywheels on with tapers having had too many wobblers in the workshop!! I showed some now fettled 15 spoke wheels for our Jinty, instead of the 14 spoke suitable for an E2? Yes not many know that Thomas is an E2!!!
I thought it was a bit halting before you said about it being a touch out of time with itself but my what a cracking engine, whats not to love, the flawless paint, the sheen of the fastenings or the subtle mix of brass, steel and that lovely green paint? Would never have guessed tho about it being a touch out of sync if I hadn't watched your vids avidly :) A good educator you are Sir!
I don't have your keen ear for timing, but I do appreciate a beautiful appearance and this thing looks really good! Thanks for this. I realized, too, that I've sorta missed the small steam engines that brought me to your channel to begin with.
I did notice that the lubricant level in the cup nearest the fly wheel didn't descend in its level like its opposite did. The opposite one's oil level dropped rather quickly. I am curious to know if this is because of bearing cap tightness or just a clog. Hmm.
@@keithappleton Hi Keith , thankyou for all your videos and advice, I've made a batch of oil for bearings and was told by an oil supplier that rapeseed oil can cause a residue over time which can eventually cause problems. I just wanted some reassurance over this , and is this still your preferred method. Kind regards Adrian.
Do you know if the paint work is powder coated? Is powder coating ok for model engines?
These engine are not Powder coated. The frames of my 7 1/4 inch gauge "Tich" are, but it peels off easily .....
Thanks Keith!

Just getting into the hobby. Brought one of these to run on air. Just trying to work out where to buy a regulator
It's just a steam tap that you need: www.blackgates.co.uk
