- Join me on a goloruious sunrise walk through the charming village of Mildenhall in Wilthsire, England. In this video, you'll experience the tranquil beauty of this historic village, complete with horses grazing, quaint thatched roof cottages, and a peaceful river flowing alongside the rising sun.
The historical significance of Mildenhall is evident in its ancient church, with a nave from around 1100 AD featuring Norman arches and columns, and a chancel added in the 12th or 13th century. Archaeological studies reveal that the area has been inhabited since the Iron Age, and it continued to thrive through Roman and Anglo-Saxon times.
Mildenhall has a resilient history, surviving events like the Great Plague of 1666. By the late 17th century, its population was largely employed in agricultural work, contributing to the village's activity and growth. Significant community efforts in the 19th century, such as the restoration of the church's interior funded by local farmers, highlight the village's strong communal spirit.

While serving with the US military, I was briefly deployed to RAF Mildenhall. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to really see much of the Village of Mildenhall, so I really enjoyed this walk. Well done!

Beautiful opening Kevin. Love the horses in the pasture! That is so peaceful looking. I can't get over the age of that church, being built around 1100 AD... Wow! The birds were magnificent this week with their songs. Love the thatched roofs on the cottages. All the ducks/geese seem to like this village too. One of your best videos this week Kevin. I join with others complimenting you on the editing, and selection of topics throughout what was a long walk. Without meaning to put a negative aspect to it, but, it does shock and disappoint me when within a village of being obviously designated as an AOONB,area of outstanding natural beauty, planning permission is granted for the monstrosities in section 31 to 33 of your vIdeo. Glass and steel boxes!! However, that does not detract from this being another great video. Thanks Kevin.

As always, excellent , impressive ! Why is it only here , on this island , that this civilization took place , a people who over the millennia have become what we see now .
