Just like you, I don`t use aps for my games, don`t use on line dice rollers, all my books are real (I don`t use virtual books - ever), and all my maps are either hand made by myself, or are maps within the actual books themselves. I`m a happy dinosaur who likes hands on at the table top and have been that way for the past 50 years + that I have enjoyed the hobby. There`s something so much more aesthetically pleasing about doing it this way. The book you cover here takes me right back (I bought it for my kids when it first came out because it reminded me of the kind of books I read when I too was a kid.. and still do). What a treasure to have found, and a perfectly supurb book :-)
I loved this book as a kid. The final page isn't the castle's folk fleeing the siege. If you look, you can see that the siege has been broken; the attacker's equipment is unmanned and burning. The attacking army is leaving, and the spy is riding to make it into the ranks of the retreating army where he will be safe. The castle's garrison is riding after to try and stop him.

Thanks for clearing that up
This is freaking cool and it's a beautiful book!
It's really helpful if you are into Strongholds
@@wilonascave yeah, I hope I can find it one day!
Im a sucker for books.
This looks like a good one for that history-to-tabletop crossover.
I'll definitely check this out.
It's a must for me when researching for Strongholds
