On the boat he told Robin that the main reason he liked her was because he saw in her a reflection of his flawed self. He never really liked her as an individual unlike Kevin and Ted. Do you remember how he even told Robin to talk to Lily about a problem she was having and come back when it was time to have sex? DISGUSTING. Ted on the other hand was never happier than when he was with Robin, and as a couple they brought out the best in each other. HE eventually realised that he had to learn a lot about love, and the ending was sweet and poetic in seeing him reunite with the first love of his life whom he DID cherish more than Barney. #Facts

I don't like that they are not together in end but ending with Ted is more what I dislike. I always hoped that in end they will adopt child & have their family complete ❤
I hate that the divorce happened but they decided the ending in the beginning because teds kids can’t be 10 older when the story ends so I think in the beginning and the director thought that ted and robin are a good match for the end but when the years went on And alot of people liked Barney and robin Together but it was to late to fix it anyways that’s my theory of what happened but maybe they thought ted and robin are a better match idk
I mean both Lyndsey and David look pretty much the same now as they did back when the show first aired, so they could've still fixed it if they wanted to. The writers chose to make Robin and Ted endgame because they just thought that their story should end that way.
Dude,the end its horrible,im team Barney,but even if i didn't would stay a horrible ending,ted keeps getting back to the same error you get to a point where clearly robin doesn't like Ted , and the romance between them is too forced and the ending could be good, but the story they developed for the characters throughout the serie didn't fit with this ending,then it ended up a horrible combination
@@ayanno_aiko4389 well as a Swarkles fan you'll feel that way, but I think you'll find that the writers had a vision for their story and deserve credit for staying true to it. And everything in the story was a lead-up to Ted and Robin reuniting in the end. True story.

Now you can blame the audience(who are less intellectual than you) and the critics (who are not experts in reviewing and analysis) for the hatred it got. Praise the writers dear, they are the best and everyone else are stupid. The show had the potential to surpass F.R.I.E.N.D.S ratings but the writers failed big time.

The critics focused too much on the tone while forgetting that HIMYM was written in a non-linear manner. The writers did a great job, but not a perfect one. Their decisions to focus the entire 9th season on the wedding and giving Tracy more screen time were mistakes. Because there wasn't enough time to develop future storylines and the fans got to know Tracy more. She was ONLY supposed to have a scene near the very end. F.R.I.E.N.D.S. did have higher ratings but that's because the showrunners only focused on ratings to the detriment of proper story development. HIMYM was based on Love In The Time Of Cholera, so there was a story to be told and it was done well. That's the way it was.
