I like your content and advice! Did the same thing in Mexico for about 2 years back in 1990-91 in Oaxaca. Budget was about $185 a month and shared an apartment with a couple of students. Now close to retirement, we're planning to move back. Can't believe how much we spend on housing, food, medical expenses, etc. in the US. Looking forward to downsizing and living a healthier, simpler lifestyle. Definitely the way to go. Kudos to you!
Thanks for sharing your experience too Walter, it's always great to hear other people's stories! I bet you're looking forward to getting back here after such a long time away. It's a good bit more expensive but still WAY better than up north and still entirely worth it in my humble opinion ;)
Love this. I traveled on the cheap in Eastern Europe and Turkey over 20 years ago. Tiny budgeting was the only way to stay until my return ticket could get me back to the US. Traveled around seeing how long I could go without eating. Walked a lot. Stayed with locals that I met for a month of the time I was traveling and had a blast meeting people and exploring solo and tagging along with other groups I met. Back in the US for 25 years and now that my daughter is in college and I'm solo I'm looking to remotely work in Mexico and explore as I go and do it on a budget but not a tiny budget. I'm loving your content.
That's awesome Michael, thanks for sharing a bit about your adventures! Happy to hear you're enjoying the channel. Wishing you the best as gear up for round two of the wonderful nomad life!
Thanks so much Chris! There's more detail in my other two budget videos but I wanted to do a summarized version because we're all often so short on time. I'm glad you liked it, thanks for the kind words & encouragement!
Really great tips here! Dining out is a good one, and drinking! Lucky I don't drink. I remember years back going through "drive throughs" almost daily on the way to work! Large coffee AND quite often a breakfast sandwich? I cringe now thinking of the money I could have saved over the years!
Thank you Patricia, I"m glad you're enjoying the videos! I hear you on those drive-throughs too, I used to do the same thing. I think we were buying a bit of comfort on our way to a job we didn't really want to do weren't we..
Well you'll save money sharing accommodations, and other than that I'm thinking double my numbers & that'll give you a ballpark idea? IF you want to live on a tight budget that is! Lol 😉 Depends greatly where you're staying & what your spending habits are like too. Wishing you all the best on your move!
@@BlueSkySanctuaryBaja I was thinking double too. Thank you for your content. You’ve by far gone into the most detail regarding budget and what you spend - love your grocery vid!!

How do you think a monthly budget might change for two people? My wife and are are planning our move. 😬
