I LOVE this! So much cleaner than my indigo prints, ha! I'm eager to incorporate this into my printmaking. Thank you for such a lovely and compelling inspiration.
I am trying to do Cyanotypes from digital negatives. I'm mixing my own chemicals as I did when I was making silver gelatin pints and a condenser enlarger. I'm using a 16x20 contact frame and, regrettably, natural light. Control and reputability counts.
Sorry it has been 3 months since your comment! Anyway, I use good Fabriano watercolor paper, usually 140 lbs. (I'm not sure of the gram equivalent) As far as ecofriendly, I believe they are. Everything I've read says that the chemicals can go safely down the drain with plenty of water. Seems like it would be the same for pouring them into soil but I am not 100% sure. Ask a chemist?
Thanks! Cyanotype is very archival. Although I have never had a problem, I've read that they should not be hung in direct sunlight. And yes, I usually mat and frame my work.

Thank you June! I appreciate your note!

Hi Linda, amazing works and video! By the way, I want to know what kind of material that you use to spray on 3:02? Thanks in advance 🙏
Magnifique ! Merci
Beautiful work.
Thanks!!
Do you have to use a specific type of paper to do this or can you use any surface?
I like Fabriano hot press watercolor paper the best. I've seen prints on all kinds of surfaces though!
You should check on some Cyanotype Pretreat sheets
Hello Linda! What is the function of the hydrogen peroxide 3% you use at 3"
It oxidizes and darkens the print instantly. Prints will darken over time without this step but it is fun to see the change!
Beautiful prints!
How long do you leave on the hydrogen peroxide before you wash it out? I am just about to start your wet cyanotype, Beyond the Basics, Part I course!
Lovely! What kind of paper is this?
Canson watercolor paper
Stunning! Would you mind sharing how you created the dappled effect at 2:00 minute mark? Salt? Many thanks!!
Yes! it was salt sprinkled on when the cyanotype chemicals were still wet. Thanks for your comments!
beautiful artwork

can this be toxic if used in clothes ?
No, it is very safe. Artists have been using cyanotype on clothing for decades!
can i use photo paper
Great video - very helpful! How archival are these? Are they colorfast once hung on wall? I assume when you frame, you mat, yes? Loved this!!!

Thanks! Just ordered the chems to try this.
