I had a canteen bag in British Tan in the 90s and for some inexplicable reason got rid of it! Needless to say I'm kicking myself now and desperately trying to find one. It's infuriating how many fakes are out there! Appreciate the great information you share :)

It definitely has a blue shine to it, but I've seen blacks that look all kinds of colours under harsh light.
