    This segment shows the parallels & intersections between Odissi & Bharathanatyam dances.
    Odissi is full of grace, from it's alpha & omega. It is just like a falling flower in a breeze, a floating feather in a rivulet. Grace grace & grace.....
    Bharathanatyam is all about geometry. It is strictly symmetrical. It is the incarnation of mathematics as an art.
    I wish the I could get a front view of that segment.
    Needless to say, that Odissi dancer is the first among the equals.

      Don'tEvenThink but Odissi stole the show with their exclusive and delicate movements!

      @nayanikanath8949 5 лет назад +10

      @@AyushKumar-to7uw that is very character of these two forms. Bharatnatyam is about speed, fast movements, coordination...it's shiva's dance basically. Odissi is about Vishnu...its about grace and feminine beauty even if males do perform.

    Hello Nitisha! This performance has no words to describe....If there is one dance performance that can help grow spiritually it would be this one. The reason I say this is all the dance forms in India was not created for entertainment but to merge with the Gods in our thoughts. The music, the dress color, the mild dance steps, graceful movements did that exactly. Moved me from sensory realm to an imaginary world. I always thought Bharatanatyam is superior to all other art forms. But your odissi opened up a whole new world for me. I feel very proud to be an Indian. Video snapshot at 2:10 is currently my desktop wall paper. One of the days, it will be printed out on a large scale and hung as a painting in my home. Please do one performance with all the 8 classical dances of India! Thanks a lot! :)

    • @ns.kha29
      @ns.kha29 2 года назад

      I agree. Kathak may be flowy and beautiful but when you put kathak dancers next to bharatantyam, odissi, mohiniattam and others its as if theres no kathak dancer at all. If you want to watch someone do kathak, there shouldnt be a comparison to the side of the dancer, kathak should be there alone.

    • @tanishqsharma7328
      @tanishqsharma7328 Год назад +4

      @@ns.kha29it is actually because kathak is a "shraight posture" dance form and other arts involves various twists and turns throughout the instrument of body.This makes the other forms very expressive and kathak being a dance with reserved body movements and sharp arm and hand movements often seems to be less expressive in front of other dance forms.but still kathak in itself is one of the most elegant dance forms from india and its diversity ranges from the temples, to the gharanas, to the mughal durbars ,to the kothas and then to the dance academies.
      ITS A MATTER OF PROUD that all our dance forms have such a great history and charisma❤❤

      @allembrace 7 лет назад +26

      Snjna Xsd - Hello ? are you kidding ? First do you know what you are talking ? Tell me your knowledge about these dances ?
      All these dances are born and developed in The HINDU temples of INDIA . As such they are 100% Hindu culture.
      Apart from that whatever is from INDIA - is Hindu culture . You can tell easily , may be some Buddist, and some JAINA culture could be there , but that one can make out .
      ISLAM is not INDIAN culture . ISLAM prohibits , dance, music, singing , painting etc. Ask a Mulla . Moreover these are called Idolaters which are against the culture of ISLAM and Christianity.
      They are trying to deceive people.

      Only Bharat Natyam and Odishi has origin in temples but Kathak does not have a temple origin.

      gpr90662b- O Ye, who told you . ?
      All dances without exception are of Hindu temple origin .
      KATHAK is centered around LORD KRISHNA - RADHA and then LORD SIVA - PARVATHI..

      Rodney - MUSIC is an integral part of Hindu dharma - Of the 4 VEDAS , one Veda called SAMA veda describes Music, entirely devoted to music .
      All the Gods manifestations In Hindu dharma use music instruments - SARASWATHI VEENA , LORD SIVA plays on DHAMARUKA and is also the LORD of DANCE called "NATARAJA "
      LOrd Krishna plays FLUTE .
      Lord Brahma plays Mridangam Great sage NARADA plays on TAMPURA and so on
