This is a transcription of a piano piece by Edvard Grieg. Grieg was inspired by a hardingfele-tune by Knut Dahle from Tinn, Norway, when he wrote this music. Grieg did not try to copy the folk music, but he made his own brilliant piano music based upon the themes from the fiddle tunes. I have rewritten Griegs music for three violins and viola, which turned the music into something different from both Grieg and Dahle.
