    It’s a very beautiful piece.it’s worth to have it at 15% discount, and it’s very unique.

    Awesome video! What a surprisingly amazing statue. I am floored by how much of the story you get from the statue. Such a cool mystery. If that was a cover to a book a would read it. I did not think I would like this one so much. Thanks for the review. I wish I had the room for this one.

    Informative video for viewers & yourself alike. Been sayin' for years that despite previous Sideshow claims, that at least some of these pieces are clearly customer returns. I think you've seen the proof of that with your own eyes now. Most seasoned collectors these days can tell the difference between new, only opened for a quality check, & a completely used (displayed/opened) piece. We're not stupid, despite our looks...lol. From memory, I myself have received at least one SS 2nd (P1 Nemesis Prime) & yes, there were a few, minor issues with the piece. But nothing that a little glue couldn't take care of. Nor did I ever feel the flaws on it were so great that it warranted an immediate return. That's the trade-off you gamble on; a massive discount for hopefully only a slightly flawed piece. Concerning your statue though; the chip exposing that red wire probably would be an acceptible compromise in my mind, but the missing tub foot--no way, it's gotta go back. Thanks for the hands-on review. Being so familiar with your display space, I'm betting that a brand new replacement for this same piece never makes it back into the Sanctuary.

    Thanks Jeff, unfortunate you had issues. I’ve had two SS second purchases and both were fine. Considering I had one regular SS piece arrive with an issue (broken toenail on Yoda), I consider myself fortunate… it does leave me questioning the history of the statues though… At least you still have a return option.

    First I’ve got the Mr. Sin piece and absolutely love it. I’ve got Deep Down PO’d and am looking forward to it being released. Second: I managed to snag Batman: Gotham by Gaslight off Seconds. I’m hoping for a better experience than you had sadly…..I’ll know Tuesday….

    I’ve only bought from SS seconds once and luckily I had no issues other than it didn’t come with the original shipper. I hope you get it worked out because she’s a beautiful statue.

    This mister Sin is truly a wonderful statue. Love everything about it. I really tells a story. I saw pictures and videos where the Nighttime paint was really well done. On other pieces not so much. But there is no deny that the sculpt and portrait on this one is stunning. Regarding sideshow seconds. Again I love Sideshow. But me personally I would never use seconds. Never. The term "like new" can be so stretched. Me personally I feel that the stress off what will I recieve is not worth the 15 percent off. I think it's clear evidence that these returns are not really inspected before sending out again.

    Good to know that the 2nd offer is a return and not from the factory. I think I’ll stay away from it. I’ve had make shift shipper boxes before and was told by ssc that it was normal (which I call BS on).
    The statue itself looks great (other then the defects).

    That was definitely a return. The hairs are absolutely disgusting! I probably would’ve just packed it right back up and sent it back! The hairs and the dirt are clear signs somebody opened that up in their home. The statue was not too big so I was able to lift it straight out of the box, but I’ve gotten bigger statues from prime one and I will lay the cardboard box on the ground and slide the Styrofoam out onto my floor and I’ve gotten dirt on the Styrofoam like you have shown. It’s a shame sideshow had to lie to you and say this was not a return.

    Sorry to see it Jeff. I used seconds right at the intro of the program. I got a PCS 1/3 venom. It came with a ripped open box, absolutely broken into bits, clearly returned in horrible shape and resold for 1k. It took a ton of back and forth to return it. Never again.

    Occasionally, I’ll look on sideshow seconds just to see what’s on there. I don’t know if I would ever purchase some thing from seconds after seeing your video probably not. I don’t know why sideshow had to lie to you because this piece is brand new so why would it be on seconds unless it was returned or if it had damage, they should’ve been fully transparent as to why it was on discount.
    I picked the statue up and got it a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I had three QC issues that I’ll get over. One of the gauges, the rubber glass looking thing, fell off, but you can put it back on without even gluing it. Her back leg does not fit into the peg completely. I’m not gonna force it because I don’t wanna break anything. On the top of her right leg, there is a white dot which is weird. It’s not super big and most people probably wouldn’t notice it but I know it’s there so it’s kind of annoying. The light up feature did not work at first, but with a little wiggling, I got it working.

  • @leomanteca4685
    @leomanteca4685 2 месяца назад +6

    I wouldn't keep it. It's obviously a statue that was sold to another collector, who returned it to Sideshow, and Sideshow decided to pawn it off on another collector, with defects and all. Without specifically mentioning the defects in full transparency. Very bad business practice in my opinion. Whoever is in charge of quality control at Sideshow needs to be transferred to another department where they have no say in what statues go out to customers. If this were my first purchase from Sideshow, I would not order from them again.

    • @matthewgreaux91352
      @matthewgreaux91352 2 месяца назад +1

      I totally agree with you. It’s a good thing this was not my first purchase from them because I would never purchase again. I purchased this statue and I love it. My only two complaints are her back foot does not fully go into the peg and I’m not gonna try to force it and break it & on her right leg on the top there’s a white dot where it’s not painted.

    You were much luckier than me on my first Seconds purchase. It was the P1/Blitzway Catwoman, and everything was completely obliterated into many, many broken pieces except for the base and the head. The body was broken into about a dozen pieces, the whip arm was broken, the cat had broken legs and the whip itself was broken in half. They claim they personally inspect all Seconds pieces before they send them but that's a downright lie.

  • @Bringthewinter

    You could probably fit it if you remove that back piece of the staircase with Mr. Sin at the top. Might leave a gap or cavity in the statue but you won’t see it inside the box display anyway.

  • @xellosmetallium8519

    Thank for the review, I do think it's a beautiful statue, but because there is no comic, movie or book it's like really hard to justify a purchase like that, especially when prices are high and space is always an issue. Personally, I would return it and not buy again, the leg bothers me from that angle, but everyone has there own options.

  • @Rocket_Punch_

    Exact same thing happened to me a few years ago. Except I wasn't using Sideshow Seconds, my purchase was for a "brand new" Prime 1 piece from the main Sideshow site. When it arrived, it came in a non-descript generic shipper (not Prime 1), clearly opened styrofoam, with all sorts of dirt AND hair inside. Obviously someone at the warehouse inadvertently crossed the streams, but bottom line is yeah, Sideshow definitely lies about what they do with its reject pieces.
    Sorry to hear they are still up to their usual shenanigans.

    I was unsatisfied with my two SS Seconds purchases. One did not come with the original shipper and art boxes and the other one was broken and clearly opened by a previous customer. I will not buy Seconds pieces anymore regardless of the discount.

    The piece with the red wire on show (an small part snapped off) probably happen by you or the previous owner, when they inserted the ribbed piece. Those ribbed pieces are designed to be placed into position when by the collector. Maybe yours was left in place by the previous owner?
    Your piece appears to feature a light skin-tone left wrist. My piece has a chocolate colored left wrist, and Sideshow Collectibles CS has zero interest in sending out a replacement left hand/wrist as it would fix the issue, which is total BS. These days Sideshow has become more and more like Prime 1 when it comes to Customer Service. The chocolate level of darkness on the leg is terrible. Mine is the same, and i guess it is out of view. I think the dark shade concept is a step too far.

      I found the tiny piece in the styrofoam insert. It wasn't until I was inserting that ribbed piece into the connection point that I realized that's where the piece belongs.
