After watching the E-Day Trailer, this makes this game's story even sadder. The same for Gears 4 and 5. Because the Locust/Swarm are the monsters we hoped would stay in our imaginations. These people aren't heroes. These are people who were robbed of a normal life.
What's worse is if it wasn't for the locust or the swarm, it would have been for the Lambent that a lot of people would have lost the chance to life a normal life... Hell it could have been a lot worse considering what erosion can do 💀
Who knew the COG created the Locust? Let’s see… there’s Marcus, Dom, Prescott (in secret), Diaz, his daughter, Kait, Del, Marcus’ Dad? Maybe, Sid (way after long before emergency day), Reyna? Uncertain but it’s possible, and Chairman Monroe. Those are the only people who knew.
@Battered_FannyKait backstory was fine though. Her being part of the queens family makes it interesting and it makes perfect sense how the story went. Her character sucks because the writers don’t know how to write like every other gears story but it’s insufferable here
@@xavierpeterson7139yeah uncovering the origins of them was one of the best parts. The entire game was a big callback to Gears 2 so that’s partly why I liked it.
@Battered_Fannyis it really too hard for nostalgia-biased fanboys like you to stay quiet when anyone mentions Kait? Shut the hell up and let people enjoy things
Honestly, many people complain about parts 4 and 5 because they are about desertion and the like. Although I agree that in terms of history and plot development, 4 and 5 are VERY weak, but in all seriousness they really showed that you can’t be loyal to a government that SPILLS on you and even sends you away to solve the problems that it ITSELF created.
Honestly, I don't think that 4 and 5 have bad plots, but rather they are executed in a way that feels rather generic and doesn't feel right for Gears, the OG games always had this sense of brutality, despair and being the underdog, something that Gears 4 and 5 lack, the swarm never feels like that much of an enemy and actually it kinda feels like the swarm and the cog are in equal footing. Also, OG games already had this "goverment distrust" feeling into them so expanding that idea was a great idea, just not executed well.
People criticizing the desertion aspects of 4 and 5 are so idiotic because all the OG Gears deserted, and for righteous reasons. Marcus abandoned the battle in Ephyra to save his father, Dom abandoned the recon mission in Nexus to find his wife, and Baird and Cole left the Museum to use a bomb to kill Karn. The series has repeatedly said that the government/army does not always know what's best.
So many weapons and suits of body armor the locust use are taken from the cog. Explains why so much of their stuff looks cog. Re made lancers now called hammer bursts and their armor just recycled cog armor.
only diaz. his voice actor kinda sucks in general. hes not terrible but its like he can only do one tone of voice. every time i play a game with him in it i immediately know its him because its the exact same voice in every game
@@ramiere1412 Like Laura Bailey, the only difference in her characters is tone of voice and happy/depressed. Troy Baker and other actors amaze me when you can’t recognize their voice. They’ve got so much range to their voice.

Side note. We all know marcus would not have hesitated.
What exactly ? To desert (in a place with Dom and possibly with Anyay) and, together with Diaz, solve the Locust PROBLEM?
@@Masterchiefandcommandershepard He mean shoot ukkon in the face.
Now that you mention it, some of that locust armor does look COG made
Sid's voice actor is the same guy who voices Adler in Black Ops Cold war and BO6

@Battered_Fanny that part where where they go to new hope. A lot of the fans loved it though in gears 5 it gave more info on the locust background

Sounds a lot like the US government lol

@@Veachie The fact is that in parts 4 and 5 (ESPECIALLY in parts 5) it was presented VERY poorly.

I must be playing this game all wrong cause I don't have none of this stuff shoot to be honest I'm struggling with some of the side missions 😅
