      You were going to link the video you made on the pronoun to use after “pour” -
      but which of the links above is it?
      It didn’t give the description of “after pour” and I don’t want to navigate away from this lesson until I have that link. Maybe you will see this and tell me which link?
      Thank you if you can.

    Very similar to portuguese "Bem feito!" By itself is actually an insult to mean someone deserved what they got.
    Lots of pronunciations and idioms in portuguese are very similar to french since the portuguese nobles used french as a lingua franca and lots of their past kings were related to french nobility.

    Thank you for the video. Always very helpful 😊. I learnt bien joué a while ago and it’s thankfully one of the phrases I find easy to remember. Also, the use of bien fait as “serves you right” is pretty much the same in English and often used in a sarcastic way. For example if someone opens a can of soda and it sprays all over the place you could say “well done” as in “that was stupid wasn’t it” 😂

    Merci beaucoup. J'ai entendu parler de ça avant.
    C'est marrant que le mot "bien" veut dire quelque chose genre "good", "very well", ou "that's great", mais si on ajoute le mot "fait" pour devenir "bien fait", peut-être qu'on pense "well done"? Mais non non non non, ça devient grossier MDR. Quand même, bonne journée.

    Alors celui-ci est interchangeable avec "tu l'as mérité!" (si je l'ai écrit correctement :) )? Comme toujours, merci à vous!

    There is an analogous English expression, from England, usually old private schools, "well played" applying to something well done or well executed. May be obsolete by now😊

      I still hear it fairly often out here in the States. Maybe not as common as it used to be, but I would say far from obsolete

    Can I use bien joue when I'm being sarcastic? So like, if my friend tells me she fell off her bike because she was riding too fast I can joke and say bien joue? I'm trying to learn how to use sarcasm when I speak French because that's so much of my personality.

    I think either it is 0 or 100, they can both be deserve it in English, not too much wrong by saying Bien Fait ... LOL... but Bien Joué seems a bit more like a proper congratulation

      I don’t think so. Passé simple has gone into disuse in common speech so even tho in say Spanish it would be “conseguí buenas notas en todas mis exámenes” using past tense and not “he conseguido”, French doesn’t seem to use the simple past tense as much as far as I’ve seen. Seems to make the past perfect, I think they call it, the de facto past tense/preterito.

    • @adam_meek
      @adam_meek 3 месяца назад

      @@darcash1738 you'VE confused English and French.
      I was tawking about the correct ENGLISH trans!

    • @darcash1738
      @darcash1738 3 месяца назад

      @@adam_meek yeah. This translation is incorrect bc the de facto simple past of French is actually passé compose. People don’t use the simple past tense unless it’s in formal literature. So this should be acknowledged accordingly if you wish to translate it. Her translation was correct
