This anime,Marchen Awaken Romance had brought back my chilhood time, when I still at primary school. Really nice exploration, fight, and friendship story in this anime. For new generation, I bet you'll love to watch this anime.
A bit extreme but in this case very fitting end. After all Maira made it clear he meant to kill Dorothy, and she sent a message back just in case anyone wanted to do as Maira did and add to the body count.

Up to this day, I sometimes imagine wearing these ARMs. There were even times when I thought of interesting original abilities. It was such and still a cool concept. This anime is one of my childhood favorites. 😄
Isnt there a a similar anime? Some accessories with historical/ jewish names ( i think it was jewish lore) One of the mcs name is Dante, red haired guy. Cant remember any other one because he is like Shanks from onepiece. Had less screen time but y knos he was powerfull
@elgatochurro Oh, don't get me wrong, I know Isekais have always been a thing (I mean Inuyasha is technically an Isekai and that might not even be the first one). But what is unique about MÄR is just how much it unintentionally led the groundwork for a lot of Isekai we see today while still probably being one of the best in the genre still to this day.
@@ilovecody7514 I just miss when the FANTASY works felt like a FANTASY... Get swept up in it's magic or other worldlyness. So many Isekai today just remove their setting and the stakes because "well it's just a video game"
@elgatochurro Well, I mean, Isekai is only one subgenre of Fantasy. We also have more original stuff like Dungeon Meshi, Witch Hat Atelier, Soara and the Monster's House, Land of the Lustrous, and Frieren at the Funeral.
God this anime brings back the memory during the simpler times. When the 3rd great Ninja wars had finally settled and everything was in harmony at the moment. 😄
I love this anime. I guess I am much older than others, since I watched this when I was definitely not in my "childhood", but still. Such a great show, really underrated. I loved this moment. Dorothy is usually a gag character, but she sent a real message in this match, not just to the enemy, but to her own team. She was a boss, I think definitely on par with Alan, although he seemed to be the one stronger since he just casually tossed her in training and stuff. I suspect it happened though only because she is usually a "go with the flow" character, rather than him being stronger. Or if he is stronger, its not by much.
She is noted to be the only character other than Ginto to pass the War Games totally undefeated, 3 of the Knights and the Queen. She's regarded as one of if not thee, strongest non MC character.

Alan is powerful and definitely contributed a lot to the war, but like...I stand by what I said. Dorthey wasn't weaker than him per se, she just went with the flow and took the training.
8:30 For a Chess Piece who was a cowardly Pawn back then, Maira obviously held an incredible degree of untapped magical power to activate the ÄRM. It's a lot like how Halloween who was always getting bullied and running away when he was a child had the power necessary to bond with the fire ÄRM he stole from Allan.

This was one of those anime where the fight scenes aren't fight scenes but only conversations. I remember watching this and waiting for some action but getting nearly none every episode. But story wise it was quite interesting.
I have MÄR manga and it's one of my favorite manga in middle school, and a few years back i try to read it again and i realise that almost all fight is done within a chapter or two, and its almost have the same formula, but the lore and backstory is quite awesome tho

My first Isekai anime. The cool thing is that Gintas dub VA voices shinji in the evangaleon series and Babos VA voices all sorts of characters. Does the name Twigo ring any bells? He was in Seven Deadly Sins. The manga was the first ever manga that I owned. Good times.
You know what makes me cringe? Doe eyed innocent anime girls that talk about needing to "forgive" everyone. The dude literally admitted to being a mass murder and wasn't just ok with that fact but was openly joyful of it. Lost in the ecstasy of what he thought was supreme power he stomped on people, thought nothing of their lives, was gloating about how he was going to do it again to both her own ally and yet she calls Dorothy "terrible" for giving the guy the same treatment he had been dishing out literally for as long as he was able to.
You're are also wrong you know. No one has the right to judge someone else's death. It all comes down to if you got the guts to kill and bear that burden and dirty their hands for others to live another day, which Dorothy has. Let the innocents be innocents.

The animation is too kind. In the manga, Toto literally ate the rook. With chewing sounds and everything.
