Wow you are drinking chaga it makes a great tea and it can heal you from cancer also we have a lot of this here in Alaska on our brich trees take care stay safe where every you maybe amen amen
Chaga has been drank as a tea for +1,000 years. I like it too. LOL. I put some in a small container with a lid with a few drops of water for a day. Then it is soft enough to cut into small chunks. Then I use a percolator kettle on the stove. Pour a cup of tea and add a cup of water back into the kettle sometime and let it perk for a few minutes and it is ready for next time when it only needs heating. I like it black, nothing added to it.
Love this channel and content. I was born and raised in Maine and spent my childhood in the woods during the 70’s and 80’s. I own a camp in the western foothills and still enjoy it year round.
When it's cold it's easier to knock the Chaga off the fibers aren't as flexible as they would be in warmer temps...only difference I've found in harvesting it.
My son came home from the animal shelter with a redbone hound/lab mix. He went there for a cat! Came home with this appox. 9 month old male dog. He had kennel cough, but was treated at the shelter. We had to get his nuts cut. That damn dog's into EVERYTHING!! I'm getting too old to train dogs! I haven't the patience for that anymore. There was a nice kitty there. She was fixed and was totally cute and friendly. My wife and I was trying to get our son to take her home, but... no. Damn!
I live in South Georgia, about 20 miles from the Florida state line and we don't have chagga here. We have triple digit Temps in the summer and only 7 to 10 actual winter days per year. Great video.

That’s a nice chunk you found there. I used to find it all over the place when I lived in Vermont. I even found a whole bunch when was camping in the upper peninsula of Michigan a few years ago. I haven’t found any since I moved to North Carolina but I’m not in the right area for it. That puppy is too funny
Love, love, love your contemplative “get in the woods” Videos….so important to take the time (something I struggle with..). The Chaga harvest doesn’t hurt either! Been looking around w/o much luck and MAN it’s expensive! Good on u to have that resource around you, and the knowledge to use it….👍🏻 Early Spring is in the air…a bunch of folks this way are already tapping!
Chaga is best picked when it's full of oil, mainly in the spring or fall but that depends on where you live etc. I grind mine up and add a 1/2 teaspoon with my morning pot of coffee which is all you need. Tea is another way to take it but too much of it will change your urine to a dark brown if you put too much. Pine and spruce needles are about the same strength of vitamins but has iron, zinc, vit D, vit C and a few others depending on where you live. You remind me of Alexi Bushcraft before she got commercialized and ruined it with garbage outdoor stuff. Boss of the Swamp on u-tube but his old video's (7-8 years ago) which you should watch. Congrats on the channel & your transformation.
Nice video, very relaxing. Just finishing up the second half of it. I started it a couple hours ago and you reminded me that I have Chaga that a friend gave me about three years ago. Been in a baggie ever since. He sent it to me from Wisconsin. Anyways, I just had some for the very first time. When I was describing it on Facebook a short time ago, I said that it tasted like the forest. You just described it in a similar way. It’s pretty good. With a little half-and-half, I could see having it regularly. I will have to see if I can order it from somewhere. But oh man, I had to use the saw from my larger Swiss Army knife to break it down. Lol. I hadn’t thought about boiling it, I will give that a try. Thanks, and hello from Idaho

Makes me wonder if the purpose of the chaga on the birch tree, is to heal the tree from a wound if it got one.
Actually, the Chaga slowly kills the tree. The mushroom spores enter the tree through wounds in the bark.
@@MaineGirlOutdoors that's wild that something beneficial to us, is not beneficial to a tree.
