I personally would like to see a sequel to the remake by WayForward.

I wish Nintendo Power back then had printed the glitch that let's you beat the game in a minute.

Never had much experience with these in particular, though the Wii sequel from WayForward (that eventually got ported to every modern platform) is adorable and absolutely worth a play.
And favorite gaming duo? There are so many greats: Sonic and Tails, Megaman X and Zero, Mario and Luigi... but I'm gonna make an unorthodox pick and go with Rex and Pyra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I'll try not to spoil too much, the game's story is absolutely worth seeing unfold for yourself, but what starts on possibly dubious ground blossoms into a friendship centered on trust to something more as they realize how much they've grown to mean to one another. Just talking about it makes me wanna play the game again xD

Ps2 & Ps3 Ratchet & Clank games are some of my favorite games along with Jak & Daxter.

Banjo & Kazooie, Princess Peach & Perry, Tandemaus, Timmy & Tommy, Ice Climbers... There are a lot of great duos. 😵‍💫 My favorite is probably Nate and Jibanyan from Yokai Watch, though. lol

Solid coverage like always. Was hoping they'd have tossed the elusive Wii game in the package as well but perhaps that one isn't quite "retro" enough.

Games like A Boy and His Blob and also Ecco The Dolphin later on provided a different take on tried and tested platformer designs. While beat 'em ups were my main thing back then, mostly the Double Dragon and Streets of Rage games, these different games grabbed my attention like-wise. I didn't play them as much, like practicing a 1cc on the mania difficulty in SoR2 with different characters, and didn't have true co-op, but played them a lot anyway. Only, i never figured out you could use the rocket to fly into space, without a protective suit. I did finish Ecco The Dolphin, which was a long and thrilling, but also sometimes frustrating experience.
    Nice one covering this game!

Well said. Ecco the Dolphin has this reputation for being chill and relaxing, but it's devilishly challenging. Some of the puzzles are really obtuse and the game doesn't do much hand-holding. That said, I love that companies like Sega were willing to take a chance on that kind of idea.

I loved playing the first game on dad's old NES, and enjoyed playing it on emulators, and the Wii version was one of the first I checked out on the Wii emulator. However, didn't even know there was a sequel until that video a couple of days ago you did. Maybe I'll check that out. As for the question, kinda a toss up, as I can't really pick between the three, but all part of the same franchise, Max and Chloe in the original Life is Strange, Chloe and Rachel in Before the Storm, and Alex and Steph in True Colors, so I'll just make all 3 the answer. 😉

A boy and his blob is an unorthodox but quite fun nes game - what I don’t get is why do we need a LR pirate copy? Getting hold of an original is a $20 venture.

It's the same reason we need Citizen Kane or Casablanca on blu-ray and 4K. In order for game preservation to work, these titles need to be readily available. Very few people are going to spend the money on a second-hand version of a game, especially if it means buying hardware they no longer own.

@@DefunctGames Actually misunderstood what this was (hence you might have seen my earlier deleted comment) thought this was a repro OG cart, similar to what LR did with Shadows of the Empire a few years back, to run on OG systems - twice the price of an original cart which I thought was pointless. I can get behind a release on modern consoles 👍
