Segal got high on himself, thinking he was the people he played in the movies. The more power the film characters had, the more he thought "I can do this, my power is just as great". I think he started seeing himself as a powerful mafia/hero when he was at the peak of his career. It has also happened to others, but they have managed to come out of the illusion they have had about themselves. I think his problem lies there, it is said that if you lie long enough you will believe it yourself in the end.
It's true. A lot of actors tend to do that. Will Smith one of the latest and more notable examples recently. Then you have Wesley Snipes as well and even Heath Ledger.
I imagine Steven Seagal watching this while sitting on a couch, crying and eating tub after tub of Rocky Road. This man truly never expected to be outed as a fraud, which gives some insight into the contempt he regards the average person.

I have a weird but minor anecdote about Segal. I don’t have many photos of my older sister, in 2001 she got a job at the WTC, and was killed on 9/11, and one of the only photos we have left of her is with her standing outside of Studio 54 in Manhattan, smiling, next to Steven Segal with his arm over her shoulder. when i worked in casting, I talked to some his past co-stars. He would hire girls a fraction on his age, then ask them to run lines in his trailer, in which he would then add love scenes. Many left his sets in tears.
My dad worked on Above The Law. My dad was a paramedic on the Chicago Fire Department, and after having to retire early due to medical issues, he got a job with the Motion Picture Union as an emergency medic. He said Seagal was obsessed with Native American spiritualism and had a shaman bless and purify the film set every morning with smoke and songs. He also had this big ball of bundled up pungent smelling herbs that he insisted on having near by at all times to set the mood. The smell was really strong, and ever present. Eventually, having to smell that stuff all day, every day, people were starting to get sick from it. It was make people puke.

Steven Seagal was an overnight sensation after he made Above the Law and his career shot thru the roof in just the few following years up to Under Siege. I think Warner Bros was grooming him to be the next Clint Eastwood but he also butted heads with some of the top brass there, plus his notorious reputation with women and dubious past took it all downhill as quickly as he rose. There was also a lot of hypocrisy in his on and offscreen persona that are vastly contradictory. Steven Seagal's most effective martial arts technique is to shit his pants. Like "The Kamura" in judo, this technique will forever be associated with his name: "The Seagal".
Wait! He was also an astronaut, he landed on planets far away and taught Martha Stewart cooking classes while also providing his expert skills as an astrological proctologist on aliens...what a dirtball
He did not open the dojo he taught at it. The dojo belonged to his in-laws and he did not train under the founder of aikido because the founder died before seagall ever went to Japan.

America only appreciates huge man and Steven Seagal is that so...

I have a weird but minor anecdote about Segal. My family kind of associates him with her, and all think he’s a really cool guy. Weird to know the truth, especially given his history with women.

when i worked in casting, I talked to some his past co-stars.
I remember him beating up a pimp for slapping a woman in his movie Out for Justice, but what does he do in real life??

You know what I think separate Steven Seagal from other action Stars is that I can honestly say I never got the impression that Arnold Schwarzenegger or Sylvester Stallone ever believed that they were the characters that they played. It was like they never forgot that they were movie stars and actors. But I think Steven Seagal had a blurred line in his mind between his movies and who he was in real life. I think he wanted to be as cool as a cook who saves everybody from terrorists in real life and he forgot that that was all make believe. Sylvester Stallone wouldn't have made it very far if he tried to be Rambo in real life all the time. The only person who's an action star in real life is Chuck Norris. I once read that when Chuck Norris lifts weights, the weights get in shape....
Hollywood´s years of control, domination and stress are causing him and other actors to go insane. This has to stop. One way for this to stop is if we stop making too high demands on them. Finding out that the culture he had spent so much time being dedicated to was actually a horrifying dictatorship and the worst dictatorship in history drove him insane.
