- Torrential rain flooded roads, homes and malls and briefly halted operations at Dubai's airport as storms lashed the Gulf on Tuesday, after leaving at least 18 dead in Oman.
Dubai, the Middle East's financial centre, was paralysed by the heavy storms that caused widespread flooding around the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
Flagship shopping centres Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates both suffered flooding and water was ankle-deep at at least one Dubai Metro station.

The Prophet (pbuh) said: ''The judgement day will not come until this lands (the desert of Arab peninsula) become greenery again''.
And, interesting fact is that, scientists also are saying that, million years ago, this desert was actually full of trees and greenery. But, over the period of time, it turned into dry weather and the present form of desert. It is also another sign of true prophecy by Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh).
Anyways, I am pretty sure that, not only UAE people but also all countries of Arab peninsula are being surprised to see this dramatic climate changes, such as with heavy rainfall and floods which they never experienced before, nor their ancestors too.

It's a well known fact that for many years, Dubai have been using cloud seeding to produce large quantities of rain..

Climate change will cause an increase of total yearly rainfall on the planet.
Warmer oceans = more evaporation = more precipitations.
But while more precipitations are to be expected, this is on the entire world's scale. Thus, while some regions will experience more rainfall, some other regions will be hit by intense droughts.
Also, since warmer air can hold more humidity, intense rainfall like this one will become more likely to occur

@@deniseb4426 No, it is true, Dubai does conduct cloud seeding and is actually very open about the investments they are making to generate more rainfall. Just google it.
However, this storm doesn't appear to be caused by cloud seeding - yet is more just an unfortunate heavy storm - but I don't know enough about clouds to say for sure.

Its been 2 days non stop and heavy rain. What I see I think its expected to place rarely has this kinda rain.

@@saadmahimi7537just an interested Brit here who’s literally just watched some cloud seeding videos (head of ‘rain enhancement’ in Dubai interview) and he said there were consequences if they messed up planning regarding flight paths through clouds - which could cause hail/floods - so where does the confirmation that this was ‘really rain’ come from?
I’d struggle to believe it at this point.
