Have a beefsteak plant with 3 tomatoes but theyre smaller and haven't ripened yet. It's been 2 weeks almost and no change but it has been hot and humid here in TN.
Some beefstake tomatoes will grow big and they take a long time to get ripe... Unfortunately with a hot weather it kind of stressed out the plant and will slow down the production... Make sure to give a nice light pruning in the evening time. Stick with your water schedule and fertilizer. It will definitely produce and ripen up soon
thanks for that info , it's been very hot here lately. heat advisory in effect today and yes tomatos are really taking more time to ripen. rained really hard here in upstate ny but sun came out very hot and dried the potted tomatos out a whole lot. gave them little water this morning.
Sorry to hear , that's super hot for tomatoes, definitely increase the water .. don't forget to keep up with fresh soil or fertilizer for extra help ..
I have a question I have a tomato plant that is not producing any flowers and just keeps growing and growing with out giving me any flowers so I have no fruit and I’m wondering how I can fix that?
You should definitely prune , remove some of the lower leaves and some of the suckers ( The suckers are located between the main stem and the branch. It's a new growth point between) Also increase your fertilizer. That will help a lot..
If you're trying to ripen on the vine, yes.. with 90 . If the plant is still producing and tomatoes are still young and Growing you could water one more day.. I water them every 2-3 days
@@Greentgarden I have tomatoes eggplant sunflowers wiri peppers cayenne peppers habanero cucumbers karela, I’m trying to figure out a good watering schedule, I know they have different needs and most of my plants are in grow bags . Can you recommend a good watering schedule please?
So most of your plants are ingrown bags which require more water and the weather is about 90°. Definitely every 1-2 days .. water in the evening time 5-6 pm ... 🌱🙏🏾
Water and fertilizer helps a lot , If the weather is too hot, humidity is too high. It was stressing the plant and that could cause your tomatoes not to be so sweet... If the weather cools down and you have enough fertilizer and you stick the water schedule, it would definitely be sweeter..
@Greentgarden Thank you. I definitely think it's the weather. To much rain and heat and humidity. I definitely made sure they have enough fertilizer my plants are huge over 6 feet tall even my determinate plants. I'm just so disappointed in the flavor. It's seems that the store bought tomatoes taste better than the ones I'm growing now.
Cut back on the water , especially the tomatoes are not fully green. They're like lighter green and they reach their size. Cut back in the water will force a plant to ripen tomatoes up
It's been so hot lately it's hard to know whether to wait for the promised rain or not. Now we have hours of rain! And slugs! So our poor plants are stressed!
I am sorry Wendy 😔 the weather been very strange this year.. Even with the bugs, I have more bugs than ever since I'm gardening.. not sure what's going on ...but hang in there .. 🙏🏾🌱

Answer all my question again! 😊In San Diego it’s 90degrees and very humid. How often water early girl in raised bed. 1-2 days?
1-2 days is good .. that's some hot weather 🌡️🥵.. 🌱🙏🏾..
I’ve been watering my tomatoes everyday for 15mins via drip system - no red tomatoes yet 😢
Oh that's way too much water... Cut back 🙏🏾🌱
Would you say this is the same for indeterminate (bush) tomatoes too?
Yes 🌱
My tomatoes started ripening real small then dying. It’s been 90 degrees and very humid. Increase water?
Sorry to hear , that's super hot for tomatoes, definitely increase the water .. don't forget to keep up with fresh soil or fertilizer for extra help ..
Ok. How often to fertilizer 14days ?
Yep every 14 days is good ..

Even if the temperature is above 90 water 3 days per week?

@@Greentgarden so basically every day or every other day ?
Yes that's perfect for this hot weather.. . This morning we hit 64 degrees here in the morning.. crazy weather lol
How can I grow sweeter tomatoes
Water and fertilizer helps a lot , If the weather is too hot, humidity is too high. It was stressing the plant and that could cause your tomatoes not to be so sweet... If the weather cools down and you have enough fertilizer and you stick the water schedule, it would definitely be sweeter..

Oh so sorry , Keep up with your fertilizer water and in time it will get better once the weather cools down 🌱🙏🏾
I think the water issue is it for me, I water a lot when I see it dry.
Cut back on the water , especially the tomatoes are not fully green. They're like lighter green and they reach their size. Cut back in the water will force a plant to ripen tomatoes up
some how i didn't get your answer.
