Shocking isn’t it. You can never beat the person who did the original because of the emotion from deep down that they put into it, but Marc is 99% there to Freddie’s 100%. Freddie would tip his hat for sure.
I really doubt that Freddie Mercury would think its a good idea the Queen band to hire a Freddie impersonator. If that is what they wanted they would have done that. Roger and Brian know Marc Martel and never considered him a their lead singer. They didn't want a sound alike. Adam is a better live performer than Marc or Freddie. Freddie often has to restrain from hitting the high notes live. They both have pitch problems at times. If I want to listen to Freddie then I will watch the old Queen videos, I need to listen to Marc.
Just a reminder, that Roger does one high note, the high note in Bohemian Rhapsody is not that high. It is a Bb5, Freddie has done this note many times, in fact he did a Bbs5 at Wembley 1986 ruclips.net/video/r2Byk3ybyv4/видео.html. So Freddie could easily have done that one note himself.
in The original 1970s Version of Bohemian Rhapsody Freddy Did All The High Notes Exept For The High Highest Note in The For Me Part Wich Was Done By Rodger Taylor. Everything else Was All Freddy Though.
I always enjoy when people discover Marc 🙂 I’m a longtime fan of Marc and his music since he had his band Downhere and always thought he sounded like 70’s Freddie. I got to hear him live last year with his band Ultimate Queen Celebration and it was an amazing experience. He sang for two hours straight with no intermission and his voice and stage presence are absolutely mind blowing! The only time he stepped off the stage was for a few minutes during a guitar solo. His band members are all accomplished and top-notch musicians. He tours extensively, so if you ever get the chance to see him live, you MUST go. You won’t believe your ears! ❤️
I like Downhere music! That is, do you have a vague idea of what contemporary sacred music is in Italy? Most of the time the result of a "brainstorming" between musicians and lyricists is this: Texts: "strike us O Lord". Music: "strike our ears to blood, O Lord". Discovering Downhere was like listening "The Dark Side of The Moon" for the first time. A shock. 😂 I hope that, sooner or later, Marc will decide to go on a tour in Italy too, I would be happy to hear it.
Luciana Ciolfi that’s hilarious! I have an Italian friend and she said that Christian rock is unheard of in Italy. I hope Marc visits there soon too! I’m friends with some wonderful fans from Italy who are dying to hear him live and really want them to get that opportunity. ❤️
Homie I'm not even gonna talk about the singing because there aren't words to express.. but his piano skills.. still no words to express other than bravo 👏 🙌 🙏
I'm so glad young people still know Queen (I'm only 19 but grew up around classic rock). Probably 99% of the kids in my class didn't/don't know most of the classics. :/
I went through the same thing growing up. I was preferred listening to Queen, AC/DC, CCR, Rolling Stones, etc. than listening to what my generation was listening to in the 90's and early 2000's. However, now that we're in our 30's, I've grown to appreciate those groups as well.
BlackQueen29 Have you EVER met a single person who said in all honesty “That brand inspires me!” or “That brand writes such amazing music!” Exactly! Scram! Spit-spat, bunny/kitty/puppy/etc.
From the land of Celine Dion, Marc Martel loll Kidding appart, I like him much better :) I think he his a much a complete artist than Lambert, even on stage, he his the top performer, I don't think he was kick out of Queen, I think that he wanted to take back his own personality, he's not an imitateur, his voice is really like Freddy!
@BlackQueen29 he was chosen over thousands of would be replacement, yes he played and sing with the real Queen band, he was chosen by them, its all documented... medium.com/spotlight-central/an-interview-with-marc-martel-of-the-ultimate-queen-celebration-who-appears-at-the-great-auditorium-73e2e0490d81 and this is the video sent to Queen that made him join them!... ruclips.net/video/dREKkAk628I/видео.html
@BlackQueen29 Your right, I stand corrected :) (The Queen Extravaganza was Queen's official tribute band, developed by the band's original drummer, Roger Taylor.) I was stuck on the end part name lolll
BlackQueen29 Please! Freddie was the head and the soul of that band! Not to mention that it is his achievement that the band went anywhere. He named the band, drew the crest, invented a new image for himself and for his bandmates. The first two singles that catapulted Queen to success were written by Freddie. Queen is no more. May and Taylor can call themselves whatever they wish.
Yeah people have said that vocal and performance-wise, Adam has it that's why he was picked. Like it was an advantage for him not to sound just like Freddie 'cause the band members didn't want a replica of Freddie but wanted someone who's worthy to be the frontman of Queen. But I must say, this guy, Marc, has the voice and even the facial features to replicate Freddie Mercury. Some even say he's the reincarnation of him. lol Whatever it is, he's mighty talented and I'm just glad I discovered him through his Queen covers (plus, RUclips recommended this to me so... thanks RUclips! lol). I enjoyed watching your reaction to this. It seems like musicians tend to appreciate the performance more than those who's already familiar of the song or even the fans themselves 'cause it's hard not to compare a cover to the original. But I have to say that this was a brilliant acoustic live performance of the song... if I ever get to see one.
You almost get the feeling Queen chose Lambert before seeing Martel (which is true) and now are stuck having to justify why they can’t change now. Martel is a better vocalist and performer, hands down. Lambert is flamboyant but not a good performer.
@@ugadawgs1990 Who are you trying to kid? Adam, Brian and Roger are the perfect fit, Adam has one of he greatest voices in the world, and he can out sing MM any time. You can insult Adam as much as you like it makes no difference Adam will be there when they retire. He has been Lead Singer in QAL for nearly 10 years why can't any of you MM fans take the hint? As Brian and Roger both say NO ADAM = NO QUEEN (QAL)
@@ugadawgs1990 Marc is a self-sufficient brilliant musician who happens to have an even more brilliant voice that sounds like (arguably) THE best rock vocalist of all times! Well said Lewis. I am with you. Freedom of speech is just that. We all are unique and with that we have different opinions. And with that comes respect. Agree to disagree is ok. Makes the world go round. Great reaction.
marc has performed with queen before and he is a good guy he has a queen tribute band and the guy tristen sounds just like david bowie you should check out there cover of under pressure . and his cover of who wants to live forever . marc is an award winning singer and he did the vocals for bohemian rhapsody the movie and freddie in the 70's could hit the high notes it wasnt untill he had damage that affected his higher register and he couldnt do it as much but he still had an insane range
I'm a huge Freddie/ Queen fan, and am really protective of Freddie's memory. Marc is around my age, and the ONLY person who has gotten my approval in all these years. I've been a fan of Marc's forever, and have seen him live numerous times. He is effing incredible. Also, such a sweet and humble guy. Loves to talk to us fans, takes pics, accepts hugs, gifts and is just great. Plus his shows are a blast! I will always pay to see Marc, but Queen and Lambert? NO. He ruins it for me. He does nothing but stand around by Roger in his platforms and glitzy outfits. Marc is like Freddie talent wise. Blows Adam out of the water.💥🤽🎶
What a great and honest reaction, mate! This is absolutely the right content for you: you are a musician who knows what he is talking about, you speak from your heart, you are well-spoken and have the right attitude. A instant sub for me!
@@lararoostalu9318 The ONLY two voices used to recreate Freddie’s singing in the movie were Marc Martel and Freddie. Freddie’s vocal stems were “stitched” to Marc’s vocals on ALL LIVE SCENES.
Just an FYI... There was never a decision between AL or MM. AL performed with Queen in 2009 after he lost American Idol (Which Queen worked a few episodes). MM was never on their radar until 2011 when he auditioned for their tribute band. BTW, MM was a very successful, award winning musician with his old band. About the movie... Scenes where you hear Freddie singing (Happy Birthday, writing Love of my Life, meeting the guys for the first time behind the club, and several live parts... Including the Live Aid rehearsals where his voice cracked, were all MM). Per MM in an interview... Due to his NDA... He could not say specifically which songs he performed, but could say that he knew of no other singer working on the movie.
Indeed! The timing of when Queen discovered Adam vs. Marc meant that the wheels were already in motion for the Q+AL project long before Marc was on their radar. It would not have surprised me if they had considered working more with Marc, and indeed they did, as part of the official Queen tribute band, The Queen Extravaganza, through inviting him to perform at several charity concerts with Spike Edney's SAS Band, as well as his contributions to the Bohemian Rhapsody film. Lewis makes an excellent point in his reaction video, that no matter the work ethic and musicianship someone might bring to the table, if there's someone that you like working with more, that factor will likely win out. Marc has proven to be an excellent studio musician and touring player, but something "clicked" differently with Adam Lambert, and Queen chose to capitalize on that factor.
@BlackQueen29 You and I have had similar discussions before, and I don't think any long-time Marc fan is arguing that Marc should be the one performing with Brian May and Roger Taylor. Roger and Brian (and the QAL fans) have made the point _ad nauseam_ that they would not want to perform with a sound alike or "impersonator", for a myriad of reasons. This. Is. Not. What. Marc. Fans. Hold. On. To. (or "can't let go after all these years" as you put it.) It's that somewhere in these arguments, the fans of the other think that NOT performing with Queen means that they aren't a quality musician, or that performing WITH Queen means that they were the ONLY person suited for the task. (Or they wouldn't continue to do one-offs with other guest singers like Kerry Ellis, Lady Gaga, Patty Russo, etc.) It's a matter of preference, and, as Lewis suggested in this very reaction video, Brian May and Roger Taylor's preference of who they wanted to regularly tour with was Adam. It's the new people (like Lewis) who discover Marc who wonders if this "replacement" would work. They wouldn't still be touring together if they didn't like working with Adam.
BlackQueen29 You’re spot on with your timeline. Queen had plenty of time to choose Marc had they wanted to. The amazing reviews from the Vegas IHeart music fest was what prompted them to do a full fledged tour and hire Adam as their frontman. This article is a little more specific as to what was used of a Marc’s recordings. www.soundonsound.com/techniques/inside-track-queen-bohemian-rhapsody-soundtrack#para11 (26th paragraph) "In the end, the decision was made to work with the live recordings and improve them as much as possible. The only singing by the vocal double that was used are bits for which no recordings of Freddie exist, for example where he sings 'Happy Birthday' to himself at the piano. We are all very picky about technical quality, but you have to balance that against the emotional impact. You want the energy of the original performance. No-one will be sitting in the cinema thinking, 'Oh, my goodness, there's a tiny bit of distortion on the lead vocal.' You just go: 'This is exciting!' In fact, that little bit of distortion adds to the excitement. And also, that concert is so well-known, if you change anything in it, you're going to be nailed to the wall!"
slynnc kitty Maylor performed with Adam at the European MTV Awards in November ‘11. Roger has not met Marc until late December that year. Brian didn’t meet Marc until 2012. No artist repped by a manager or an agent would EVER PERFORM WITHOUT A CONTRACT. No artist would go into rehearsals without a contract in place. Adam had a contract signed with QP way before Roger even met Marc. So, no discussions about Maylor’s choices are appropriate here. May chose Lambert way before Marc entered the stage!
he was chosen by Brian and Roger to perform in Queen Extravaganza. I saw it in 2013 - it was so good. Check out his audition tape he made singing Somebody to Love He also did some of the vocals in the Bohemian Rhapsody movie too.
If you listen to a lot of Queen, it is really easy to tell them apart, Freddie had a sharper pitch to his voice. But Marc is properly as close as you are going to get, he does a good job, and he can at least play the piano and some guitar. There is a lot of cool Queen songs and performances you can still explore.
**Zenobia** The keyboard player with Queen is Spike Edney and has been there since 1984. Brian has always been the guitar player. They only needed an amazing singer with an original voice and one who brings the stage presence, camp, charisma, flamboyance and theatrics Queen was known for. Enter Adam Lambert.
@@sasha07775 Being a musician and playing an instrument gives you better a better appreciation of what is really necessary within a song. A musician understands that adding a 10 minute solo might be bad for a song, it usually means that you are attention seeking and selfish. A good musician understand that you have to serve to the song. A good vocalist is very similar, adding unnecessary runs and melisma to a song in order to show off your voice is selfish and attention seeking. People who sing and play instruments understand how to serve the song and the music first. Adam Lambert is prone to over singing, unnecessary runs and unnecessary melisma. Queen were not just known for their flamboyance and theatrics, there were always bands who were more theatrical, camp and flamboyant then Queen. Queen were also quite capable of delivering nuanced and delicate performances. Such as these: ruclips.net/video/d4lzQCrkbdQ/видео.html ruclips.net/video/UBBne8R66xo/видео.html These are performances which Adam is completely incapable of. You are not an original singer when you are mainly doing cover songs. Dimash has a similar sound to Adam, his voice is just clearer in the upper registers, less distorted Adam copies Elvis, Freddie, Michael Jackson, Alice Cooper and Prince in his style.Queen used to be a rock band, especially when they performed live: ruclips.net/video/pkkFKUmFJ70/видео.html. Unfortunately, they are a kitsch pop group at this stage.
@BlackQueen29 He copies the style of practically every famous singer, even the hairstyles. He even copied the Crosby, Stills and Nash 60's hippy look. Lots of different Elvis looks and poses. Sofas like Michael Jackson, Prince's whole look, boots from the New York Dolls, different coloured suits and long jackets from David Bowie, leather jackets from Alice Cooper. The list is endless. He just needs to copy Dee Snyder's look then he really would have come full circle. He can copy who ever he wants to, but there is no way any objective person can call it original. You can't call someone original when they spent 90% of their time covering other artists, that is an oxymoron. Of course singing runs and melisma isn't a bad thing by themselves, it is only bad when it destroys the original intention of the song, and when you are trying to show off your voice, instead of relaying the original message of the song. Singing is about conveying a message to audience. He can do whatever he want to his own music, but when he is performing with Queen he is covering someone else's work. Brian and Roger were just as happy with Paul Rodgers, Britney Spears, Kerry Ellis, Tony Vincent, Beyonce, Robbie Williams, Jessie J and every artist they have ever performed with. They were excited and motivated to record a new album with Paul Rodger. Brian was even excited to record with Kerry Ellis. The fact that they haven't recorded an album with Adam should tell you something. Brian and Rodger are not the only members of Queen. Adam is a good singer, he is good at doing the power ballads such as Who Wants To Live Forever. But Queen was a rock band, at one stage, he is not a rock singer, he doesn't have the grit, raw emotion, energy and power within his voice for rock. He doesn't have soul, so that excludes some Queen songs. He doesn't have a great falsetto, you will never see a delicate and nuanced performances from him such as You Take My Breath Away. He has tried singing opera, and lets just say that Michael Bolton did a better attempt at Nessun Dorma then Adam.
slynnc kitty Enter Adam Lambert, a cabaret singer, and turns Maylor into a cheap cabaret act. But that’s their choice, isn’t it? We are all happy they are happy!
To fully understand the potential of Marc Martel's voice you have to listen to the other covers he has done and the songs he writes, beyond the "Queen" series. He has an extraordinary voice. And can play many instruments very well (and sorry if it is little...). Yes, Adam Lambert also has an extraordinary voice but does not create empathy (at least it does not arouse particular emotions for me). With this I don't want to criticize the choice of Queen. After all, it would be reductive for Marc to be associated forever with Queen, because he can sing EVERYTHING that can be sung. Perhaps it is better that it is his true voice (and also the songs he writes) that comes out and receives the success he deserves. And when he arrives he will have deserved it all, without having to thank anyone.
Marti ....just on touring roger taylor supported freddie mercury with high notes. especially in the eighties. on records it‘s nearly been always freddie mercury. mercury could sing high and low. the specialty of mercury was his many tones, the fast vibrato at the end and the immense power in his voice. but he always refused to sing queen-songs live like on the records. once he‘s said in an interview if people like to hear it like on records then they should go and listen to their songs behind closed doors.
@@greenogre22 > on records it‘s nearly been always freddie mercury Wrong. When recording Bohemian Rhapsody, the high-pitched part was sung by Roger Taylor. And to talk about what he did in the movie, he did a lot and he helped a lot too... Without him the movie would be much more difficult to make.. He sings 80% of the live aid in the movie... They put Freddie's live aid performance, but the sound wasn't clean so they put Marc Martel just behind and believe me, you can sometimes here him with Freddie's voice... After that they put like 5% of Rami Malek.. And you can hear the difference between real live aid and live aid in the movie.. The pronunciations of the words are not the same, the voice is more clean and smoother (Idk if we say smoother?).. Finally you cans search Live Aid behind the scenes, and there is a video where rami malek come on stage to sing Bohemian Rapsody, and it's only Marc Martel singing and it's mind blowing how it's close...
Niels Did you read the article from the people who actually worked on the movie, because if you did you would see they used very little of what he recorded. He dies sound similar to Freddie, but admittedly makes changes to his voice when singing Queen so he sounds more like Freddie. Listen to videos of his Christmas tour and you will hear the difference.
Niels The only time Marc had to recreate Freddie’s vocals imitating him was while working on the biopic. His job was to copy every line of Freddie’s. Normally, Marc does not imitate Freddie, doesn’t even try. As far as his involvement in the project, Marc’s “screen time” is grossly underplayed. His voice lies beneath every live performance in the movie, stacked to give Freddie’s faded recordings some vibrance, fixing Freddie’s cracks, and making Freddie sound better than he ever sounded live!
M3 m3 m3 Except when he admits that he “puts it on a bit when he wants to sound exactly like him” in an interview . Q - Is that your natural singing voice? Or do you mimic others? A- I’m definitely a mimic naturally but then there are definitely a few other singers I can do fairly well but even when I’m not trying to mimic Freddie Mercury, people always tell me, people at my shows or come see our band [say that] I sound like Freddie Mercury. Even when I’m trying specifically not to sound like him I still get it. [I use] mostly my normal voice but I put it on a little bit when I want to try to sound exactly like him. Or when one of his loyal fans admits he makes changes to his normal voice: " You must not listen to Freddie singing live. Marc adds he raspiness because that is the way Freddie sang live. Marc has 15 albums of non-raspy high notes. He adds it in when sing in Freddie's style."
Marc should for sure be the one who sings with Queen. Not Adam. I’ve seen Marc live and met him and not only is he the sweetest guy he is an amazing singer and performer! ❤️ He sounds so much love Freddie, it’s great!
BlackQueen29 Their chemistry with Adam does not translate. On stage they don’t gel. Adam is doing his cabaret act circling around and clinging to May. It’s odd and awkward to say the least. Also, their harmonies sound not so hot. Bit they might have personal chemistry.
@BlackQueen29 Queen (with Freddie) was considered one of the best live bands, but they weren't really friends in real live. And i.m.o. they really didn't have that much chemistry on stage, so I don't know if those things are related. LOL
BlackQueen29 It did not translate when I saw them. You can see it in the videos: Lambert is just strutting around, kinda trying to connect to the audience but from a high horse. It is awkward and not very entertaining to me. Boring Cabaret act with a lot if glitter and fireworks but little substance.
It's only a guess, but I think it's possible that the rest of the members of Queen find it a little too spooky, and maybe too close to home, if their singer sounded too much like Freddie. They formed an official tribute band called the Queen Extravaganza, and when Marc Martel auditioned for it (he got it, obviously), Roger Taylor started crying as soon as he started singing. There might just be too many memories for them, even though the audience would probably enjoy the show more with Martel. They also brought him onboard to do the voice in the movie. Roger Taylor has performed a few times on stage with Martel.
@BlackQueen29 You still believe that nonsense? They just grabbed every chance to work with a singer. If Robbie Williams had accepted, no one would have heard of Adam Lambert.
@BlackQueen29 I am sure it would not have lasted long. The thing is, they didn't find Adam. Someone else found Adam for them. They didn't look at all. I don't doubt that they had instant chemistry, dear. That has nothing to do with it. I just don't believe they were looking for someone like Adam, not necessarily. Although I think they believed Adam could give them the success they craved for.
Marc sang over 90% of the Freddy Mercury tracks in the film Bohemian Rhapsody. Marc is Freddy Mercury in a parallel universe! Jaw-dropping perfection. His performances have brought me to tears. Due to an ironclad NDA, he couldn't discuss the film. In an interview on Australian TV, it is intimated that Marc did most of the performances. When Freddy and Roger worked with Marc on the sound stage of the film, Roger was brought to tears. In closing their eyes, they swore Freddy was in the room with them. 🤩
Benjamin Kanarek No he didn’t . This article is from the people actually working on the film. www.soundonsound.com/techniques/inside-track-queen-bohemian-rhapsody-soundtrack#para11 (26th paragraph from this article) "In the end, the decision was made to work with the live recordings and improve them as much as possible. slynnc kitty Marc sang everything apart from the obvious studio recordings. Wherever you hear Freddie sing live, it’s either Marc alone or Freddie and Marc stacked ti boost the old recordings, give them some vibrance.
I am a person who thinks both Marc Martel and Adam are very good singers, who both do honor to Freddie's music. That said, as others have said, Marc is a multi-instrumentalist (keyboards, guitar, bass, trumpet, drums, ukulele) has been touring for almost 20 years. Last year he did a series of Christmas concerts with Amy Grant (she was fangilrling him on stage) and Michael W. Smith. Charlie Peacock has worked with him multiple times, and he was requested by Celine Dion to play on a TV show for her. In addition he has written multiple songs, had an original with over a million views on youtube before his Queen adventures began, and more. Everything I have heard and seen is that he is easy to work with and has a good work ethic and is very friendly with fans. Also, check out Marc's other videos on his channel. You need to check out his cover of I Will Always Love You (more than 1,000,000 views on that one too). Also check out his videos of Who Wants to Live Forever, Right Here Waiting, Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me, and plenty more. Also, check out his take on Killer Queen where he whistles the guitar solo.
"Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" literally killed me. After listening to her, I went around with a stupid smile printed on my face for two days. I think it's his most beautiful cover ever (at least according to my tastes).
@@sasha07775 I am happy for him and for them. I personally don't follow Queen with Lambert as a frontman. And if I hadn't (by chance) listened Marc Martel with BoRap, I wouldn't even have gone to re-take the old Queen records I have at home. Matter of taste.
Luciana Ciolfi The same two guys who chose Freddie have now chosen Adam. Yes, it’s a matter of taste. You sure seem to know an awful lot about Marc considering you just found him by chance. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@sasha07775 I did not slight Adam at all. I think he is a great singer. From what I heard part of the reason they chose him is that they did not want someone who sounded too much like Freddie. I am ok with that. I was just putting in those comments due to people slighting Marc who were strongly hinting that he was hard to work with and not a professional level singer. However, I think I can objectively say that Marc is a more complete musician and singer/songwriter than Adam is. I also like his tonality better. I think I can also objectively say that Adam is more of a showman than Marc, not that Marc is bad, just that Adam is better.
I understand they didn't want to become a sort of tribute group with someone singing like Freddie. Queen was Queen with Freddie, now they are Queen + Adam. Does that makes sense?
Not the reason at all. Roger Taylor from Queen: With Adam Lambert I think we have one of the best singers in the world. He looks fantastic, he’s funny, he sings beautifully and he is a great showman. He’s the only person that really fills in the boots of Freddie Mercury. (Nationmultimedia.com) "I think he's the best singer around . I don't know anybody that could out sing Adam Lambert. I really don't." Roger Taylor. “Freddie would love and hate him, because Adam has a real gift from God,” May told Yahoo. “It’s a voice in a billion, nobody has that range, nobody that I’ve ever worked with, not just the range but the quality throughout the range. I’ve seen Adam develop just like I watched Freddie develop.” May waxed lyrical about how much he enjoyed playing live with the band’s new singer. “In no way does he imitate Freddie but he provides that piece of the jigsaw puzzle,” he said. “It’s stupendous, we would never be doing this now if it weren’t for Adam. “Sometimes I stop playing because I think ‘what did he just do?’ He’s so free with his interpretations and it’s just spine-chilling. The sound he makes and the way he interprets a song.” “There was something about Adam, this chemistry was instant and it was like we were already in a band with him.”

Marc also did some of the vocal doubling for Freddie in the Queen movie. A note about this performance....having seen Queen (w Freddie) on the Day at the Races Tour I can tell you that Queen used a track for the operatic part of the song so this performance by Queen does not exist. There is NO recording of Freddie playing the song straight through with his own accompaniment. What Marc has done here is astounding! Dig into some of his other Queen covers and tell everyone about him....who knows...maybe one day Roger and Brian may just come around!!!
jason broad Maylor will not come around because they don’t want to go back to the backup position they had when Freddie was alive. Marc is an incredible performer! The minute he fronts Maylor, they would have to step back into Marc’s shadow. Nit gonna happen! I think it’s very short-sighted on May’s part ti hire Lambert. He is ok, but has nothing on Freddie or Marc. But what he does do well is promote May as the star of the show.
BlackQueen29 I don’t care what you think about me. It’s much easier to control a karaoke singer whose career fully depends on your smallest whims, than to reign in a fully fledged artist who has his own presence in music and doesn’t need anyone to assert himself, an equal. Besides, a band is only as good as its front man, dear.
Jeanette Kejling funny you say that. Marc’s song How Many Kings is actually his most successful song and it’s a Christmas song! Plus he and his band have won 5 Juno awards equivalent to American Grammies. You have no need to downplay his success just because Mr. Glambert is getting called out for the half ass musician he is. He’s honestly a better actor than anything since he’s so great at his theatrics.
BlackQueen29 No, not really. He will remain a karaoke singer until the day he decides to give up makeup tutorials and picks up a serious music teacher to teach him some theory and at least basic solfeggio.
Why bother commenting you know Brian and Roger will never and I mean never replace Adam. You are a MM Troll and all you do is troll QAL videos, WHY? Adam is irreplaceable.
@@papabearM3 M3 You think so? I'll tell you something for nothing nobody will ever and I mean ever replace Adam, go on then name them Haha!! I bet I know who is top of your list, sorry M3 NO CHANCE.
I’ve never seen a fan base scream so loudly for a lead singer to be replaced. Martel is a better singer, a better performer, and a better fit for Queen than Lambert.
You mean Martel's fan base, the Queen fans at the QAL shows are happy with the line up they have and they've been happy with it since 2012. And Martel is fine for a tribute band, that's why Roger chose him for their own tribute band, it's not what they want for their actual band, if he really were a better fit they would have wanted him to front them.
I personally do think Marc Martel has his own unique voice, combining a little Freddie vocals and as well as is own, (the way I hear it in my own ears) personally I never really rated Adam Lambert singing, and I saw one clip of Adam what disgusted me, the way he was using it mic stand pretending to jack off and aiming it at Brian, even though Freddie was Gay, least Freddie had professional stage manners in him Rest in peace Freddie. but Marc is a awesome musician.
Haha, you must not have seen much of Freddie if you don't think he did stuff like that lol, Freddie had no qualms about jacking mic stands. No idea why people try to paint Freddie as some kind of paragon of virtue.
@@scottfowler50421 I know, you said Adam was being disgusting on stage, and as I pointed out Freddie was no stranger to doing the same, so calling Adam for it and not Freddie makes no sense if stuff like that bothers you. Or is that Freddie gets a pass because he's Freddie? That's usually how it works with Freddie fans.
No they shouldn’t replace Freddie with anybody, it’s impossible he was a one of, that’s exactly why Mark didn’t get the top job with Queen, however he did quite a bit of the singing for the bohemian rhapsody film.
BlackQueen29 Oh, watch them! They will pull Elton on all of us for years to come. It will be the farewell tour for 10 years until May would have to run off stage to change his nappy. Bless.
Leo Durkin Adam is the one who respects Freddie’s legacy. "There's never going to be another, and I'm not replacing him. That's not what I'm doing. I'm trying to keep the memory alive, and remind people how amazing he was, without imitating him. I'm trying to share with the audience how much he inspired me." "To me @QueenWillRock is Freddie and I am a guest,” ---Adam Lambert
More like 1% that made the final cut unfortunately. He recorded a lot more including the entire Live Aid scene, but the scenes did not survive the cutting room floor.
Guido Carapellucci You have no idea what you are talking about. Stop writing fiction about Marc! Apart from those parts where they didn’t have Freddie’s stems and Marc had to sing them solo, Marc’s voice is stacked with Freddie’s on all live performances to some degree, including the Live Aid.
@@papabearM3 WOAH DUDE! You of all people should know that I am a staunch Marc supporter so very surprised that you would come at me like that. But I am speaking the truth when I say a LOT of the scenes Marc recorded got cut, it just is what it is.
Jeanette Kejling I am not the news at all. But I didn’t sign an NDA, so I can tell it as it is. Look at the ProTools image on the article you Glamberts are all quoting. There is an extra vocal track mimicking Freddie’s dry vocals, right below Freddie’s track. Who do you think sang that track?
This article explains it all. www.soundonsound.com/techniques/inside-track-queen-bohemian-rhapsody-soundtrack#para11 This is paragraph #26 from the article. "In the end, the decision was made to work with the live recordings and improve them as much as possible.
Mark, Freddy and Adam and Rodger are all great in their own ways, It is up to the individual to decide who is best, for me Freddy is by a margin the best because there is something in his voice that you can never get tired of.
No one is better than the other it's just they are different. If I want to hear Freddie, I listen to Freddie. As Roger says "Freddie is dead. He isn't going to be there. " and Roger and Brian where going to put out all that energy to be a tribute band to themselves.
@@gcarap Guido, to you and all other well-wishers. At least f-ing do your research, man! Marc literally sings every live appearance and performance of Freddie in that movie, including the Live Aid scenes.

As Dr May has said MANY times it would be awful to try to 'duplicate' Freddie, they adore what Adam Lambert brings to their songs, makes them live and they don't want to perform with anyone else
a) Marc and Freddie are sound-a-likes, and Marc is NOT duplicating Freddie. b) why does May insist that Adam wears that cheap arse crown a la Freddie if he thinks it would be awful to duplicate Freddie?
I would suggest watching the documentary The Show Must Go On. It's on RUclips and on Netflix. People have their opinions but the ultimate decision was left to the members of Queen including retired bass player John Deacon.
a) May did not bother to ask John’s opinion about Lambert. Dear Brian always knows better than anyone else! b) Maylor don’t want to play with Martel bc he would upstage their arses in a split second!
Roger Taylor and Brian May have said that Adam Lambert is the only singer that can sing the Queen catalog. They have also said that no one can out sing Adam Lambert. I think they are in a position to know.
Stephanie, it is a gross exaggeration in Maylor’s part to say that Adam can sing the entire Q’s catalogue! There is no evidence to that statement since the most intricate and difficult Queen’s songs are omitted from Adam’s repertoire and, frankly, his reach altogether! You will never hear Adam sing The Prophet’s Song because he can’t stay on key without a prompt! As far as “outsinging” range goes, you need to know that Adam doesn’t have that special of a range. There are many who outsing Lambert, Marc Martel is one of them. Also, go listen to Dimash, Vitas, Foust. Expand your musical horizons!
@@papabearM3 Adam is classically trained in opera, and yes, he can sing anything, certainly anything in Queen's catalog, live,in the original key. He also can do it with ease. He can’t even approach _Seaside rendezvous._ And what about _The Prophet’s Song?_ When does Adam succumb to singing the most difficult stuff? Also, I have noticed that Spike brought songs down (half a step, not much!) just for dear Adam. Don’t believe me? Compare _STL_ before and after the Rhapsody Tour. Roger and Brian seem to discuss a lot of things publicly. Anything you read as coming from Maylor about Adam’s superpowers is an enormous pile of horse manure. Yes, they do tour and, therefore, have to sell tickets. And that is exactly they praise a cruise-ship singer Lambert. As far as Adam’s solo tours go, well… they are not going anywhere! That’s the problem! No one wants to here another pop album stuffed to the brim with contrived cliché.
Martel is good but given that they have been touring with Lambert for almost 10 years shows that the chemistry is excellent. The tours are fully sold out so Lambert is definitely doing a good job. There's only one official Queen tribute band: The Queen Extravaganza. Martel was one of their singers until he left to build a solo career as Freddie imitator three years ago. He has no connection to Queen.
Here we go, the army of 3 has assembled. Let’s see how civil can you three stay when I tell you that I am expressing my opinion just as you yours. However, neither my opinion nor yours can change facts. 1. The main aspect of a music show is MUSIC, not the visual effects. 2. QP and the QuEx musicians had no exclusivity contract, therefore, all participated in other projects. 3. Martel already had a career of his own when he was hired to sing with QuEx and maintained it to a degree throughout his employment with QP. 4. Marc’s career as a professional musician and singer started in 1999 and is thriving to this day. 5. Marc has never aspired to or work as an impersonator. He performs as himself. 6. Marc was contracted by Queen Prods to perform with their official tribute band and to land his voice to the biopic. That is his affiliation with Queen. These are facts.

Music is also about the spontaneous chemistry created between people. Adam is flashy & flamboyant. With an insane octave range. As was Fred. That said. Vocally, he is also completely different. They get to enjoy shades of Fred. Honor him. Without being what is at the end of the day. Just a copy of themselves. A pretty good copy of Fred. Is sill a copy. Adam, like him or not. Is himself. I think that's the point. They get to play the music they helped create. Knowing, Adam will bring a completely different style, & energy / set of fans. Paying tribute to Fred. Bringing the music to future generations. While leaving their legacy with Fred. As a separate entity. Raising interest & awareness. So Fred can be discovered by future generations. Over, & over. It also gives 50 somethings like me a chance to enjoy / hear Brian & Roger, live!

When we see and hear Lambert do just that, then, we can start comparing him to Marc. Until then, there is no point in bringing him into this conversation whatsoever other than if you want to humiliate the guy even further than he humiliates himself when prancing about May’s boot in a cheetah print onesie.
Adam Lambert ease of performing live at the highest level without flaw night after night is something already legendary, recognized by his peers in the industry. Marc on the other hand has to give much more effort into a good performance, he struggles to be at a high level all the time. Adam Lambert toured with Queen and gathered over 200 live shows with what was once the greatest live band in the world, that is big, big accomplishment. Props for Marc playing piano and guitar while singing, that is plus and it helps him create write music, unlike Adam Lambert. but... The biggest flaw for both of them, they are not ROCK musicians, Queen is a rock band at the core especially in their live performances. Freddie was the lead singer who can play raw, be tough and domineering over the crowd.
Rover Waters LOL 200 shows?! Yippee! Is that it? Martel played 130 concerts last year alone, and he is been doing it year after year, night after night for 20 years. Lambert was still in the closet, and Martel was already in a touring ROCK band and was already signed by a record label. Touring for Marc is like breathing. He does it constantly and he does it well! He puts a great effort into every performance because THAT is a mark of a great performer, ROCK performer, who is fully committed to his audience. Lambert’s energy on stage is simply sluggish in comparison. Hate to compare the two though. They are NOT in the same category of performers. Marc is a fully fledged ROCK musician who plays every instrument he can put his hands on while on stage besides delivering phenomenal studio-like quality vocals. Lambert strolls around the stage like a good cabaret performer, dressed in glitter with a mic in his hand and reclines on furniture. Wow! That’s hard work! Incidentally, Adam’s only “big accomplishment” was his decision to enter AmIdol.
BlackQueen29 Marc started learning music when he was 4-5 years old. Adam is 38 and STILL doesn’t know much about music. So, that’s not even a competition. A karaoke singer like Adam will remain a karaoke singer until the day he learns to play an instrument and/or learns music grammar and, perhaps, learns to read sheet music. Choices, choices! Yes! There are fabulous musicians playing around Adam, except Adam can’t hold a candle to any of them because he misses his cues, goes off pitch, embellishes inappropriately, slips in and out of style, and simply lacks musicality. All that and more can be fixed with music lessons. I meant musical closet. I couldn’t care less about his sexuality. It has nothing to do with his singing ability. IMO Adam still doesn’t know who he wants to be when he grows up.
Saw this guy back in October... with his Queen Celebration tour...2 hours of just awesome!! I'd see em 100 times if I could!!!
The similarity between his "leave me to dieee" and the original track from Queen is simply uncanny.
Freddie would now to him
Just a reminder, Freddie did not do the high notes in the original song. Those were done by Roger Taylor.

Most of the time the result of a "brainstorming" between musicians and lyricists is this:
Texts: "strike us O Lord".
Music: "strike our ears to blood, O Lord".
Discovering Downhere was like listening "The Dark Side of The Moon" for the first time. A shock. 😂
I hope that, sooner or later, Marc will decide to go on a tour in Italy too, I would be happy to hear it.
Luciana Ciolfi that’s hilarious! I have an Italian friend and she said that Christian rock is unheard of in Italy. I hope Marc visits there soon too! I’m friends with some wonderful fans from Italy who are dying to hear him live and really want them to get that opportunity. ❤️

Stop this nonsense. Maylor are not Queen! Queen died with Freddie.
BlackQueen29
Please!

The ONLY two voices used to recreate Freddie’s singing in the movie were Marc Martel and Freddie. Freddie’s vocal stems were “stitched” to Marc’s vocals on ALL LIVE SCENES.
Marc is the Best!!!!!
(Or they wouldn't continue to do one-offs with other guest singers like Kerry Ellis, Lady Gaga, Patty Russo, etc.)
It's a matter of preference, and, as Lewis suggested in this very reaction video, Brian May and Roger Taylor's preference of who they wanted to regularly tour with was Adam.
This article is a little more specific as to what was used of a Marc’s recordings.
www.soundonsound.com/techniques/inside-track-queen-bohemian-rhapsody-soundtrack#para11
(26th paragraph)
"In the end, the decision was made to work with the live recordings and improve them as much as possible.

Maylor performed with Adam at the European MTV Awards in November ‘11.
BlackQueen29
Remember this: NO ARTIST MAKES AN APPEARANCE ON STAGE WITH ANOTHER ARTIST WITHOUT A CONTRACT.

he was chosen by Brian and Roger to perform in Queen Extravaganza.
Such as these:
ruclips.net/video/d4lzQCrkbdQ/видео.html
ruclips.net/video/UBBne8R66xo/видео.html
These are performances which Adam is completely incapable of.
You are not an original singer when you are mainly doing cover songs. Dimash has a similar sound to Adam, his voice is just clearer in the upper registers, less distorted Adam copies Elvis, Freddie, Michael Jackson, Alice Cooper and Prince in his style.Queen used to be a rock band, especially when they performed live:
ruclips.net/video/pkkFKUmFJ70/видео.html.

He has an extraordinary voice.
And can play many instruments very well
(and sorry if it is little...).

The only time Marc had to recreate Freddie’s vocals imitating him was while working on the biopic.

Their chemistry with Adam does not translate.
LOL
BlackQueen29
It did not translate when I saw them. You can see it in the videos: Lambert is just strutting around, kinda trying to connect to the audience but from a high horse. It is awkward and not very entertaining to me. Boring Cabaret act with a lot if glitter and fireworks but little substance.
BlackQueen29
It hasn’t though. Look at the pushback from their fans. Lots and lots of people refuse to even bother with them anymore.
BlackQueen29
All of that is achieved by their fabulous PR people. Q-+ is an overhyped tribute act.
Free PR and selling 1000s of tickets to excited American audience was certainly the key choice there, not Adam’s “artistry”! LOL

God just made a copy of Freddie and pasted it on Marc's character. 😅
I understand they didn't want to become a sort of tribute group with someone singing like Freddie. Queen was Queen with Freddie, now they are Queen + Adam. Does that makes sense?
No. They are still a legacy tribute band with Adam.
I think Queen hired Adam due to the fact he had a large built in audience from american idol.
Not the reason at all.
Roger Taylor from Queen:
With Adam Lambert I think we have one of the best singers in the world. He looks fantastic, he’s funny, he sings beautifully and he is a great showman. He’s the only person that really fills in the boots of Freddie Mercury. (Nationmultimedia.com)
"I think he's the best singer around .

37 mil can't be wrong! Marc was chosen by Queen for their endorsed cover band and now Marc has moved on with his own Queen cover band and tours the world with sold out shows.

Maylor will not come around because they don’t want to go back to the backup position they had when Freddie was alive. Marc is an incredible performer! The minute he fronts Maylor, they would have to step back into Marc’s shadow. Nit gonna happen!

"Comparisons with Freddie are wasting their time. He's has to cope with it because people are so f**king unimaginative. Fred's dead and he's not coming back and he's not going to be at the shows, so if you come to see us - you're not going to see him!"

Although, people at Marc’s concerts seem to be moved to tears and enjoy themselves crazy. The Q+ concert was kind of dull, redundant, and over-produced.
@@papabearM3 Leave it be.
He's an impersonator
No, he is NOT! He is a singer/musician/songwriter who pays tribute to Freddie.
are you blind??

@@papabearM3 not you bro
@@papabearM3 Marc Martel is an impersonator, he doesn't have an style of his own and the only music he plays and sings it's from Queen 'cause his career wasn't good enough with his "work"
Yes Adam and brian Roger reallly get along. Watch -interviews. imo.
Except for the time when Roger tried to set fire to Brian's hair! LMAO
Love Queen and Love Freddie, I enjoy reaction videos and the real videos. But why do all youtubers or most of them click their fingers, clap hands and start sentences with its your boy..... i do believe ive woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning but still, really grinds my gears.
I think the point for Brian & Roger is that Fred is, irreplaceable. Mark is talented. That said. He will never be Fred. I think for them it would feel too much like trying to do just that. ( replace him ) A band, especially one together that long. Is a marriage of sorts. It probably feels to them like cheating on a spouse. I am a singer.
KelliViti
You are fooling yourself thinking that hiring Adam is not a replacement. It is EXACTLY what Lambert is, Freddie’s replacement. Except, he is not a very good one since he can’t play an instrument, can’t harmonize, and can’t sing rock.
@@papabearM3 You are entitled to your opinion, as am I.
KelliViti
Absolutely! We all have our opinions.
It always surprises me to see other people resist alternative opinions so much instead of considering that there might be some truth to something others say that might not necessarily agree with what you have learned from your source. Aren’t you curious? Don’t you question what you read in yellow press?
Jeanette Kejling
He is doing both, replacing and copying. Seen that crown he wears at the end of the show? Where do you think he got the idea? Case closed.

tf is going on with that chorus or short delay or whatever when you play back his singing? it's so painful to listen to.. such a shame, you looked like someone who knew what they were talking about, I was looking forward to the vid. oh well ;/
Adam is right now the best singer of the world. Bryan and Roger loved and admire him and this is a live band that travel together and dine together for more than eight years. They have world success and millions of fans love Adam. I dont think any real queen fans, specially the youngest, would pay a dime for a christian singer that make his living imitating Freddie.
What's up with US and Christian singera?
1/4 million people in 2019 ALONE paid to see Marc sing Queen music live. All around the globe.
Erika Golcher
Ummm. No, far from it! You have been bitterly deceived! Adam is far from being the best singer in the world! Would you like a list if better singers?
Now, when you say “they travel together,” um, yes, they do, they take the same private jet to the next destination (tough!) and only about 30 dates a year, or they park themselves at the MGM hotel in Vegas. Travel? Hardly.
Finally, I don’t know which rock you have been living under, but Marc Martel, the Christian singer you call him, has been selling practically every show, of his 130 shows last year, in 14 different countries. He sold more tickets then Q+AL. People don’t seem to be bothered by Marc’s faith. They happily part with their money to listen to great music done proper justice.
Erika Golcher M3 is a huge believer in allowing others to have their own opinions. Actually, she’s more like a hypocrite when she says that. 😂😂😂

I am acknowledging Erika’s opinion by addressing the points she made and bringing a counterargument to the conversation.
You, my dear, add nothing to this conversation apart from calling me a “she,” which I have embraced by now, and literally harassing me because you don’t like my opinion. Who is the hypocrite here?
Ok, but he's got all sorts of reverb, echo and self-harmony looping going on - too computer-assisted.

You're hearing the audio playback differently on this reaction video. That "self harmony" isn't present on Marc's original video.

Me? Far from it, I am afraid! Marc sells out every venue. Why should I be stressed?
No way , Adam Lambert is the full package , a better entertainer and much better live . I was dubious , as a life long Queen fan ,about anyone trying to replace Freddie , Adam has kept Queen alive without copying Freddie too much , mark tried too hard to sound like Freddie and slips up a lot live .
Go see Marc before you compare Lambert to him. And BTW, it is FREDDIE who has kept Queen alive, but certainly not Lambert!
@@papabearM3 I saw Marc before I even know of Adam Lambert . He’s got a good voice , but like Brian May said , the spark with them and Adam is unbeatable . Freddie isn’t here to keep the music alive with the next generation. Adam has enabled them to tour again and introduce them to it . Even on the documentary on Netflix , Brian and Rodger knew Adam was the better choice . They didn’t want someone who sounded like Freddie they wanted someone who was as charismatic as he was in their own way . They wanted a show not a concert. And Adams voice is better than Marcs to me .
@@julesxxx8247
Julie, you are making no sense whatsoever. You say you saw Marc before you knew Adam. How? Marc had emerged from the Christian scene at the end of 2011. By then, Adam has already been “known” for 3 years having appeared WEEKLY on American Idol for momths, having completed his Glam Nation tour of the US, having made Americans gasp in horror at his lewd gestures, and having graced the pages of various yellow press for publicly beating up his then boyfriend. Where did you see Marc sing Queen prior to 2009?
Then, you proceed Maysplaning to me that Adam is better than Marc according to May. May has invested a lot of money into his show, so he would denounce Freddie (as he does with all that “Adam is better than Freddie” nonsense!) just to sell tickets! You, an innocent and, obviously, voracious Queen consumer, have bought into May’s nonsensical mumbo-jumbo he is trying to sell. You can say that you like Adam’s voice better than Marc’s. That’s okay. You don’t have to apologize for your choices, but... you are feeding me May’s nonsense, giving it away as your opinion. LOL
There is not a trace of resemblance to Freddie in Adam’s charisma. And, no, Adam did NOT enable Maylor to tour again. If anything, it is Maylor who enabled and keep enabling Adam. No generation wants to listen to Freddie’s music sung by a lounge singer, except for lonely baby-boomers starving to defend unremarkable talent just because May says he is good. The new generations can watch Freddie in action on over three dozens remastered DVDs. Even the worst performances by Freddie were 10x better than Adam’s best! It is sad that such a brilliant musician and singer as Freddie was replaced by a peacocking non-musician. Maylor wanted a show, and not a concert?! LOL Just another proof that Maylor are not Queen! Their “show” is an over-produced garish cabaret with a lounge singer upfront!
Shame!

I just don't get why people always say to AL that he is no freddie and will never be. But at the same time those people want an imitator to go on tour with Queen. Like?!?!?
S J
1. Martel is not an imitator. He is a legitimate honest-to-god musician who pays an amazing tribute to Freddie. That’s why people want him to tour with Maylor.
2. Adan dares to wear a crown in the show, Freddie’s style. So, people say, “He is not Freddie and will never be him.” And they are not wrong.
S J "...I have always been a natural mimic. I just loved imitating voices that I enjoyed listening to .... George Michael, Freddie Mercury, Jeff Buckley, Bono ..... I would listen closely trying to get the vocal tone just right .... and I would do that until I felt like I could do a believable impression....."----Marc Martel
Is that your natural singing voice? Or do you mimic others?
I’m definitely a mimic naturally but then there are definitely a few other singers I can do fairly well but even when I’m not trying to mimic Freddie Mercury, people always tell me, people at my shows or come see our band [say that] I sound like Freddie Mercury. Even when I’m trying specifically not to sound like him I still get it. [I use] mostly my normal voice but I put it on a little bit when I want to try to sound exactly like him.

I agree. That’s why Marc is selling out arenas all over the world, because people want to hear a NATURAL voice that sounds like Freddie NATURALLY.
you can judge a singer by how he sounds live , in a concert for example, and Marc sounds nothing like that when I heard him sing. Check out some of his recent concerts and you will hear the difference

Marc sounds amazing live, that ‘s why people flock to his concerts. “Nothing like that?” This is EXACTLY how he sounds in concert. I have seen him 3x live.
Marc sounds much better live. He sings pitch perfect with a beautiful and full tone that can’t be captured in a video. He’s the best rock singer I have ever heard live and he wasn’t dodging or cracking any high notes either. Both his drummer Jason Gianni and his guitarist Tristan Avakian who are amazing musicians, have stated that Marc never misses a note and is the best rock artist they have ever performed with. There’s a good reason his shows sell out all of over the world.

“One take”. Wouldn’t you say every live concert is done in “one take”? Nothing special there.
Brian and Roger have had to address those who have trolled QAL videos pushing for Marc.
Queen's drummer Roger Taylor unloaded on haters of the band's new singer Adam Lambert during a new ABC television interview. Taylor said that Freddie Mercury is really dead, and he can't be recreated and won't be at the upcoming shows, after the hype surrounding the "Bohemian Rhapsody: film.
"Comparisons with Freddie are wasting their time. He's has to cope with it because people are so f**king unimaginative. Fred's dead and he's not coming back and he's not going to be at the shows, so if you come to see us - you're not going to see him!"
"We were not seeking to recreate Mercury when we asked Lambert to join us. We're not trying to recreate our Freddie. So if people do think that, I haven't patience with them and please don't come. But if you want to just enjoy our music done really well, please do come."
Sharing a picture of Lambert on stage, May wrote: “And here is the Modern Marvel without whom, for sure, Queen would not be out here delivering at the top level. ADAM LAMBERT is only now beginning to be recognised by the greater public as the true phenomenon that he is.
"Gifted with a voice in a billion, for himself he is a passionate and unyielding perfectionist. Gifted to us, he is the reason that we are still alive as a functioning rock band. And still able to take on new challenges. Plus ... he’s nice. That’s a big deal when you’re a touring family. Freddie (Mercury) would approve, big time
He added: “Also, and I will say this only once, for the benefit of just a few people who haven’t stopped to think clearly. Just imagine how awful it would have been for Roger and myself to tour with a Freddie impersonator. Anyone who suggests such a thing doesn’t belong here.
“To the vast majority of you lovely people out there - BIG THANKS for being respectful to Adam. In supporting him, you are supporting the life blood of the live Queen legacy. Nothing is forever. This is a precious moment. We never pass this way again. Bri
Furthermore, they have made it clear that for them Adam is the perfect match.
Queen's Brian May has hailed the talents of Adam Lambert, claiming that he's the perfect man to follow in the footsteps of Freddie Mercury. “He’s a born exhibitionist. He’s not Freddie, and he’s not pretending to be him, but he has a parallel set of equipment. May says that Lambert is a “born rock star and front man”.He said: “We treat Adam exactly the same as we treated Freddie in almost every way.” (NME)

Nothing special except for the fact that Freddie has NEVER done a one take of the BoRhap solo live.
@BlackQueen29 because the point is Queen never performed the song in its entirety live. If they couldn't do it as a group of 5 (including Spike here) how astounding is it that Martel does it solo?
Todd and Raqui Forrest Just because they didn’t, doesn’t mean they couldn’t. 🙄. Again, each time a singer performs live it is in “one take”.
slynnc kitty
Could, would... They have not. That’s the point. And Marc has. Solo. While accompanying himself on piano. In one take. The end of story.
When we see and hear Lambert do just that, then, we can start comparing him to Marc. Until then, there is no point in bringing him into this conversation whatsoever other than if you want to humiliate the guy even further than he humiliates himself when prancing about May’s boot in a cheetah print onesie.
BlackQueen29
Freddie could probably. Adam can’t. End of story.
Rover Waters
LOL 200 shows?! Yippee!
BlackQueen29
Marc started learning music when he was 4-5 years old.
BlackQueen29
