Hi, I have a ratios test tomorrow and I've been practicing for some time now, but I found out that this subject is coming as well so I freaked out its here 4:30 in the morning and I just watched one video and I understood now I can sleep and do good. Thank you sooo much you don't understand how hard it is to find good examples on textbooks and you are like 10000000000 times better than my actual math teacher. Your videos are so fun and so good I was motivated to learn the mixed number one even if it wasn't coming on the test, and you made me want to know more. There is no way I can express my gratitude even more. Thankyouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
I know people are saying OMG u made this so easy, and i agree it is so easy to understand now that he did questions that are needed to be answered. but this is what the teacher in class is ment to teach us.. now lets see this from my veiw, our teachers don't know how to teach a way kids know. but also thx alot for helping me. TEACHERS DO THE WORK EXPLAINING LIKE THIS PLEASE;)
Thank you so much! Literally was ready to give up on chapter 7 part of my class, but thanks to you I’m caught up and understand! Not all heroes wear capes 👍
this vid really helped me with my hw for online class and after watching this i mostly got correct answers! thanks a lot and im a new subscriber! if i get trouble with math hw this channel is were i will watch! :)
I love this Mr Rex. I love the systematic way in which you answer these questions; it makes it easy to follow and understand. I'll show this video to my Math learners.
I like you content and subscribe Now I will surely get 10 out of 10 in my test. And I have been finding for 20 min and this is the best example of ratio. I will share this video to my friends so they can also understand ratios simplification easily.and THANKKKKKKKKKKK YOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUU
All comments : now I won’t have to stay up all night to study the stuff, now I can pass my test.... Ppl answer my question now: WHY DO WE KIDS ALWAYS STUDY AT THE LAST MINUTE FIR THE TEST?! 😂😂😂😩
Divide both ratios with 10 to remove the decimals. Now you have 35 : 45 ..... simplify these both by HCF 3, now we have 12:15 ..... further simplify it with 3 and we get the answer 4 : 5
5 : 2.4 : 0.75 Good question! Multiply each term by a number that makes them all whole numbers, eg 20. 100 : 48 : 15 If needed, divide each term by the highest common factor. In this case the HCF is 1, so no division needed.
Start by dividing both numbers by 2. Repeat until that doesn't work. Then try dividing by 3 repeatedly. Then by 5 (you can skip 4 because if 2 doesn't divide it, then 4, 6, 8 etc won't either). Then by 7, etc.

Literally forgot everything about ratios when school ended for the year then a test about it popped up out of nowhere-
Thank you so much, this really helped. I couldn't find any examples like this in the math book.
Thanks you very much for everything

My teacher needs a whole two days to explain this, you explained it in 5 minutes! I know this is an old video, but still, you're great at teaching!
Thanks, your comment is very much appreciated.
Thank yoouuuuu, you make it so much more easier to understand than the text books :)
Thanks, much appreciated.

We watched this video to help my daughter with pre-algebra ratio problems and it made perfect sense. Thanks!
Thanks
It helped me in my holidays homework
i understand it but i hate how teachers dont tell you why you do a certain step because it makes it harder to learn.
Good point, Logan. The understanding is crucial.
What about 2 5/8: 3 1/2 ?? The book says 3:4. But when I do it I get 3:8.

Ppl answer my question now: WHY DO WE KIDS ALWAYS STUDY AT THE LAST MINUTE FIR THE TEST?!
😂😂😂😩
Hmmm, because they are kids???
Rex Boggs I know but why are those kids including me like that, it makes no sense

oh my goodness, thank you so much!
how come in the fourth question in the second set of questions, only one denominator was changed
Chukwuka akpe idk. Im confused
@@redjuelar5019 only the people with wits survive
But what if i had a ratio to a fraction, like 5/6:0.6 ?
5/6:1/6 and then cross multiply and reduce. 5x1=5, 6x6=36 so it's 5/36. It won't reduce any further so the answer is 5: 36.
So .... what's 3.6 : 4.5
Grade 6 struggles smh
Divide both ratios with 10 to remove the decimals. Now you have 35 : 45 ..... simplify these both by HCF 3, now we have 12:15 ..... further simplify it with 3 and we get the answer 4 : 5
@@shayan5720 We have to multiply the decimal with 10! To make it a natural or whole number! Or move the decimal to right side one place ahead!
tysm i really needed this your explanation was really nice
Thanks for the lovely comment.
How do I simplify the ratio 5:2.4:0.75?
5 : 2.4 : 0.75
Good question!
Multiply each term by a number that makes them all whole numbers, eg 20.
100 : 48 : 15
If needed, divide each term by the highest common factor. In this case the HCF is 1, so no division needed.
Thank you so much for this it really helped me !!!
Thanks for letting me know!
That was awesome 😀👍
Now I'll fail my test
you rock
Thanks a lot
You're a lifesaver thank youu
Thanks for the kind words!
5:06. Can someone pls tell me how he got 15 plsssssss🙏🙏
15 is the largest (aka greatest) common factor of 30 and 45. To simplify a ratio, divide by the largest common factor.
Thanks, if u can add videos relating to maths more.
thank you so much
What about mixed numbers? ex: 3 1/2 : 5
you can turn the mixed numbers into improper fractions and put whole numbers over 1 like in your example: 7/2 : 5/1
Thank you.
Thank you
Thanks bro You r a good explanator
Thanks!
