Dang, that hot toys open mouth expression just sells it for me . He does that mouth a lot in the movie, and really gives lots of interactive acting pose possibilities with Batman .
Yes, it's one of the best things about the head sculpt, I said as much in my "facial expression" category in the videos description. It's a welcome change from all the closed mouth portraits. And like you said, it lends itself to several scenes, be it the mob scene when he pulls an irritable expression after being called crazy, the "hit me" scene and many others.
I have both and they're both amazing. I know I'm probably alone here, but there's just something about the InArt that looks more like Heath than Hot Toys, not a lot or anything just enough for me to give a slight edge to InArt
Damn. I ran out of characters in the description box. In closing, while I really like some elements of the Hot Toys sculpt, its hair, messy look, fantastic expression, teeth, I much prefer the Inart portrait, its overall quality. What's been running through my mind since I got the Artisan Joker yesterday is, "do I have a bad one?", the reason I ask this is because when I watch the The Figure Hideout's review of the Hot Toys imposter Joker, his footage makes the the sculpt look so much better - the white more striking, bright, the red, more strawberry red, more vibrant, the sculpt as a whole, more realistic. So either I do have a bad one, or the colour grading (my phone camera does the same thing) and lighting in The Figure Hideout's review doesn't provide an accurate capture of the in-hand experience. It looks awesome in his video. Mine, on the other hand, just doesn't look the same, the white and red are both more muted. When I combine the quality of the paint apps with the really excessive volume of the hair, the feeling is one of disappointment, to the extent where I am already thinking of moving the figure on.
It's not a bad one. I also have both and side by side, I honestly give the slightest edge to InArt. It just looks more like the actual Heath than Hot Toys.
After watching it on my big TV, I really like the hot toys one. I really like both, honestly. Is the coat weathering up at all ? I couldn't tell. You have the 1st vid up that showed him. I haven't seen any other ones
Sorry mate. I forgot to mention in the title (now fixed) that it's the Imposter version on an older Hot Toys body with the Daftoys outfit. It does photograph better than the Inart figure, but for me the in-hand experience is a little disappointing. It's the other way round with the Inart Joker, which I think looks mediocre on video and great in person.
I'll let you know what i think when i get mine in hand. I have both coming, bane, and 8 others, but who knows how long that will take. Then i see that 2.0 scarecrow, and i am definitely getting him. I don't like how hot toys did the whole only 5k, and then they have more scuplts for the imposter joker. So they are pretty much the same paint apps, huh? Your inart joker with the hair in his face does look good. I think the hot toys one still looks great, but when i get mine in hand, I'll be able to really look at him. Looking forward to another vid when you get around to it. Have a good day dude
I look forward to hearing your thoughts as you always speak your mind and don't let ownership bias your opinions. Wow, you have a lot of stuff heading your way, plenty to look forward to. Bane's looking really good, my only nit pick is the skin detail makes it look like he's a fire victim (was he in the film? or was he badly beaten when he was young? I can't remember). It's a massive improvement over the 1.0, and one of the best 2.0's so far imo. I sincerely hope the new 1987 Predator will be updated from what Hot Toys has displayed so far. That looks awful. I hope that the purple coated Artisan will offer some improvements over this: reducing the volume of the hair, improving the eyes (likeness and add some more veins/bloodshot effects), make it look like the face was actually painted instead of looking like it was printed on the sculpt. These improvements would increase the likeness and realism, and make it look less like a toy. As I said in my description, it looks great from a distance but doesn't hold up quite as well up close.
Forgot to say... Be super careful when inserting the head on the body. The ball joint and the clear piece which slots into the head was extremely stiff on mine. I broke the ball joint, which is nigh on impossible to glue back on. Thankfully the head doesn't really need the ball joint and adapter to go onto the body, so I can still turn the head and it's not like the figure had good head articulation in the first place.

The more I see these the more I dislike the glued on hair. Thank you for the close ups. Not getting anymore glued hair, only sculpted for me.

Is this the imposter version on the inart body or did the hot toys version purple coat already get released??
@@BleedingEdgeIronMan It's the imposter version on a Hot Toys body with the Daftoys Clothing set,
