I've had them both. I used to be an Apple fanboy thinking that iOS/iPhone was far better than Android, specifically speaking 'bout Samsung Galaxy S and Note series. My last iPhone was the 13 Pro Max and I felt like it was sort of the same as my last 8 Plus from 3 years ago. I did switch to the Note9, then to the S21 Ultra and for God's sake, I don't know why I didn't switch a long time ago. Not just the hardware but the software are way better.
I honestly love both platforms. I've had every iPhone from 3G to X. Traded the X last year for the Note 8 (my first Android) since the X felt too small to me and I just wanted to explore. I absolutely love my Note 8 and will upgrade to either Note 9 or iPhone XS+ or Max whatever it's gonna be called after I see what Apple has to offer. Some things I like about the Note. -S Pen -Display -Samsung Pay (can use amost anywhere) -True Multitasking -Notification light -Notification Panel -Ability to set different apps for texting -Camera -Headphone Jack -USB-C -Fast Charging -Customization -Sharing files with ANY computer via Bluetooth -Call Quality -Wi-Fi Direct -natively records in stereo (using both mics as opposed to mono on iPhone) Things I like about iphone X -iOS gestures -iMessage -AirDrop -Continuity -Face ID -Camera -Display

Walid Shaban what do mean by Security ??? I've been using iOS and Android and have no problem with security with both. One thing I worry is all of my data on iPhone are stored in iCloud

The iPhone 8 Plus haves a GREAT camera, and the Note 9 doesn’t 🤷🏻♂️ I love the design of the Note and is really fast, and still love the iPhone 8 + (I have it) But I’m tired to have tons of bezels and the X is to expensive! Like just look at the Note 9! Is the perfect 1k$ phone 🤷🏻♂️ I’m thinking of buying the iPhone XS Max, but too the Note 9. But like I said, the camera in the Note 9 SUCKS! Is to many Beaty shit! And the new iPhones have amazing Dynamic Range! I don’t know what 2 phones buy.

Pretty Boy Flizzy I think the best way to put it is that, while it is not worth 1000 bucks, it is the closest to be worth that much. Personally I think it deserves that price tag a lot more compared to other similarly priced devices such as the iPhone X.
Thanks for the non-biased review - I just got the Iphone 8 + and took it back after the first day and switching to the Note 9, I can't handle no Aux jack, so inconvenient . Been with Apple (for phones) for 7 years, going to be a big change, Apple seems to becoming to greedy, yes, they're trying to "push tech" but they are going about it the wrong way. Excellent business on their end, locking you in to have to buy from them. The pen from what I have seen looks great for business, writing notes and reminders seems great when you are running a business. See how we go! Cheers

@@xmark1440 I think the A12 will be an incremental upgrade. As the A8 was to A7 and A9 was to A10. Apple seems to follow a pattern. A powerful chip in one year and an incremental upgrade in another.
Currently, I have them both, purchased them from a friend who moved the NOTE 10, got the iPhone 8 plus for $300 and the Note 9 for $350, I alternate between both, depending on how I feel.

If you dont customize too much, I would say you should give it a try. I love both platforms but in the end, I keep an iPhone in my pocket. If you don't like it, you can always move back to Android. Give it a try.

I did trade in my red iPhone 8 plus for note 9 coz the bezels really looked outdated n once the new iPhones would launch prices would drop further... Also the software I prefer android having used android for the longest time.. N since I don't have the apple ecosystem I work on windows, it's very difficult for me to transfer stuff between my devices... The only thing I miss is the selfie camera... It takes amazing pictures... Note 9 smudges everything in the selfie cam....
Honestly, when looking at operating systems I love both iOS and Android though They both have their strengths and weaknesses. I look at internals mostly though because internals tell a lot about how the phone will age and perform, which nowadays with flagships are no problem so it makes it so hard to choose a phone!
I'm using the note 9 now but the touch responsiveness is quite poor ...Its a great phone but the basics aren't great so it kinda ruins the user experience

Having used both platforms extensively.. I realise it’s a matter of preference. I traded in customisation for regular updates, security / peace of mind, iOS fonts and design language, phone that just works without tweaking, and 16:9 aspect ratio. I don’t miss the app drawer or the widgets, or the back button.. yaa but you will miss the virtual buttons and out of the box fast charging. There are some compromises but my preferences have changed. Every man to his own :) + iOS: double tap to scroll to the top of the list/page, love that feature.
Oh Thanks! Although I noticed in Safari, when you go down a page and the address bar collapses, it takes 2 taps. 1st tap expands the address bar, 2nd tap scrolls to top. In all other applications Single-touch works brilliantly, thank you for educating me.
The pen i dea i think its the most apealing about the note, :( hard to choose , about iphones....what if you have pc only? does it friendly with pc computers?
Had my iPhone 8 plus in red for around 7 weeks now and couldn't be happier with it. Yes it might not have as many features as the Note but I can honestly say the vast majority of them I'm not sure id use. My family has all got IOS stuff so it just makes it easier fitting into that ecosystem
Samsung and android phones in general dont need all those frequent updates though....Even if Samsung is still on android Oreo it still has more features than any iPhone or Android device running android 9. All that really matters are security updates which Samsung still does.
It's a hard one for me. I had the iphone for so long and I got bored with it and now use the GS8. I have had the GS8 for about 6 months now and I honestly miss my iphone. I had the 6s plus for the last two years. I miss the smoothness of iOS but I love being able to change so much on Android. Stuck between two platforms I truly enjoy.
I'm literally thinking of switching from the Note 9 to the 8+ just for the portrait mode. To be honest, 'Live Focus' sucks. You can't change the exposure value, the pictures always come out looking over exposed, and the subject is never in focus for some reason. Plus, the iPhone's Portrait mode has so many different modes, especially Studio Lighting, which looks so damn good 😔
9:24 im actually here because I am thinking about swapping my Note 9 for an 8+. It's a great phone don't get me wrong but it is not as smooth as you would really expect. Typical Samsung really. I have had my phone for 4 months and it just is not up to the task. Many apps just kinda stutter and have light freezing upon launch, it's just slightly irritating every single time. My best guess is it's down to lack of long term software support from Samsung, nothing new here. If the iPhone 8+ handles the same tasks beautifully, then I will gladly take the "worse" phone. Would be great if someone could do Android right.
Android doesn’t need constant updates. People who continuously say it does has no idea and should stick to Apple. Apple only release 16 updates every year because it can’t get its software right the first time and keep adding shit and changing shit. Android releases with all the features and performance it needs for the whole year then individual OEM’s release monthly security updates. Constant updates are not a good thing. It means it’s shit software.
I prefer the look of the red iPhone 8 Plus I got rid of my pixel 2 xl for the red 8 plus I like the Touch ID on the front so I doubt I’ll be going with the new iPhone looking forward to iOS 12

I'd be careful buying from eBay my friend got scammed on a 7+, turned out to be a fake and they look exactly the same, you can't fake a Samsung made OLED display, with the phone turned off you can tell which one is real, Samsung makes their phones so hard for the Chinese to fake them, they can never get them to look right since the s6. Even less with a curved screen.
@Tom Reid well all it takes for a new iphone is $50 or $30 till november 2018 so dont need to worry to apple users whereas samsung charge alot my mom's s9 battery was really heating and didnt charge so we went to change the battery it costed her $70 :/
I just bought the note 9. Using it rn actually. I wish I could combine iPhone and a note 9 together. I hate how Samsung uses gmail. But I love the look of the note 9 compared to how outdated the iPhone looks(imo). Also how much storage it has! Also love how basic the iPhone settings are. I have an iPhone X, and a Note 9 and love both. There’s areas where each phone is better, but overall, I think the Note 9 is better. Apple is bringing the noise Wednesday though.
What!? The NOTE 9 BATTERY LIFE IS MONEY!!!! Even standby!!! We have the same phone! Color and storage! Somethings wrong with yours. I get over 5 and a half hours to 6 plus SOT. with overall usage of 18-20 plus. I have two jobs and I don't have to charge or think about charging my phone.

I’m not sure about the double tap, but single tapping the absolute top rim of the screen will bring the page to the top.

Samsung and android phones in general dont need all those frequent updates though....Even if Samsung is still on android Oreo it still has more features than any iPhone or Android device running android 9. All that really matters are security updates which Samsung still does.

It's a hard one for me. I had the iphone for so long and I got bored with it and now use the GS8. I have had the GS8 for about 6 months now and I honestly miss my iphone. I had the 6s plus for the last two years. I miss the smoothness of iOS but I love being able to change so much on Android. Stuck between two platforms I truly enjoy.

I'm literally thinking of switching from the Note 9 to the 8+ just for the portrait mode. To be honest, 'Live Focus' sucks. You can't change the exposure value, the pictures always come out looking over exposed, and the subject is never in focus for some reason. Plus, the iPhone's Portrait mode has so many different modes, especially Studio Lighting, which looks so damn good 😔

9:24 im actually here because I am thinking about swapping my Note 9 for an 8+. It's a great phone don't get me wrong but it is not as smooth as you would really expect. Typical Samsung really. I have had my phone for 4 months and it just is not up to the task. Many apps just kinda stutter and have light freezing upon launch, it's just slightly irritating every single time. My best guess is it's down to lack of long term software support from Samsung, nothing new here.
If the iPhone 8+ handles the same tasks beautifully, then I will gladly take the "worse" phone. Would be great if someone could do Android right.

Android doesn’t need constant updates. People who continuously say it does has no idea and should stick to Apple. Apple only release 16 updates every year because it can’t get its software right the first time and keep adding shit and changing shit. Android releases with all the features and performance it needs for the whole year then individual OEM’s release monthly security updates. Constant updates are not a good thing. It means it’s shit software.

I'd be careful buying from eBay my friend got scammed on a 7+, turned out to be a fake and they look exactly the same, you can't fake a Samsung made OLED display, with the phone turned off you can tell which one is real, Samsung makes their phones so hard for the Chinese to fake them, they can never get them to look right since the s6. Even less with a curved screen.

@Tom Reid well all it takes for a new iphone is $50 or $30 till november 2018 so dont need to worry to apple users whereas samsung charge alot my mom's s9 battery was really heating and didnt charge so we went to change the battery it costed her $70 :/

I just bought the note 9. Using it rn actually. I wish I could combine iPhone and a note 9 together. I hate how Samsung uses gmail.
But I love the look of the note 9 compared to how outdated the iPhone looks(imo). Also how much storage it has!

I have an iPhone X, and a Note 9 and love both. There’s areas where each phone is better, but overall, I think the Note 9 is better. Apple is bringing the noise Wednesday though.

What!? The NOTE 9 BATTERY LIFE IS MONEY!!!! Even standby!!! We have the same phone! Color and storage! Somethings wrong with yours. I get over 5 and a half hours to 6 plus SOT. with overall usage of 18-20 plus. I have two jobs and I don't have to charge or think about charging my phone.
