He “should” have been but the problem was when this came out everyone was sick of ALF.

I never realised Scorch was lying! Nero died 600 years before Scorch was born. Fiddles didn't even exist until 1500 years after Nero. Scorch was even lying about his childhood nursery rhyme, because he doesn't wear any pants!
I taped these shows in 1991 along with Fish Police.
I asked CBS if there was any way to get ahold of the unaired episodes. I try every year or so. I never get a response. Maybe a petition would do, but I have never met one person outside my nuclear family who has seen this show. I doubt you'd get 100 people. Still thinking about trying.
I loved this show when it came out. Wish i could see the 3 unaired episodes. At the time this show came out i was doing puppet design. I was just getting into rubber laytex casting and was getting good results. I made a complete copy of scorch. Soon after i made him, they took the latex adhesive paints off the market and replaced them with junk. The paints contained benzene, and was very toxic. Wish i could get the good stuff. I still have my original copy, Would love to remake him.

I have seen this show! I was 10 when this show came out and I often wondered how it ended. This was a very strange moment in television. A lot of the offerings were sort of kid friendly more like cartoons or something that everybody could enjoy. I even remember “tequila and Benetti“ being interesting to me as a 10-year-old. There was some other show, but I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it. It was about a Group of-I guess they were superheroes-who fought crime on various alien planets. I distinctly remember a cyborg named doc, and an alien prince named gore-don. Probably don’t have the spellings right but Braille is my first written language so… There you go. I hope somebody can tell me what I am remembering. It is really tormenting me.
I know this was published 7 years ago now, but I am so glad I found it. I have been looking for the theme song to this show for years! I had almost reached a point where I thought I had imagined this show.

I saw this show when it came out in Germany 1994 when I was 11 years old. Back then I liked it very much, because... well, it had a dragon in it. Now I can kinda see why it only ran for six episodes.

The theme song is an earworm. Its been stuck in my head since this premiered.
I LOVED this show! Of course, I was a little kid. XD I remember turning on the TV to watch the fourth episode, after ending a mall outing early with "We gotta go home, it's coming on!", only to be disappointed when there WAS no fourth episode. Now I can sort of see why...but the nostalgia is cool!
i got here after watching One good cop (1991) and went through the imdb profile of Rhea Silver-Smith, the angel kid who played Jessica on Scorch. Yes, Scorch is really funny, wonder why it got cancelled.

I'm surprised that this thing even lasted 3 episodes. I guess for a children's show it might be acceptable.
Honestly, I have no idea why the series was cancelled. It had a nice premise, and the storyline was actually interesting. Truth be told, if anthropomorphism in animals was as popular in 1992 as it was now, it probably would've had at least one full season. But still, I think only airing three episodes was a stupid move. They could've at least aired the other 3 as well. Oh well, at least it had more episodes aired in the US than The Hasselhoffs! :P

Would have been a great show. I guess people thought the show was just a knockoff of ALF, which everyone was sick of at the time this aired.
That's kind of the impression I got. I only ever caught the 3rd episode on TV - and then suddenly, the show was gone...never to be heard about again. I remember feeling so pissed!
It's really too bad that this show tanked due to 'ALF Syndrome'. The 90s were an awesome decade for fanta-comedy, and with a little work to establish more of a fantasy feel, I bet it could've taken off.

I agree, I loved it! I remember begging my mom to cut a mall trip short so that we could get home in time to watch the fourth episode, only to realize that it had been canceled. Such a disappointment!

Great Show, terrible intro theme song! Ill always remember this because it takes place in New Haven! I grew up in New Haven CT and always thought that was cool!
I only remembered this series because of the opening. I was walking around tonight singing it trying to figure out what it was from. I don't know why I suddenly remembered it after all these years.

Yes, first run in Germany in 1994, and the some Reruns during 1996 til 1997. All six episodes.
