    It frustrates the hell out of me that not a single filmmaker seems to have any interest in using Mr. Sinister as the villain of an X-Men movie. He is genuinely one of the top 3 best villains in the entire franchise.

      @@mcpics4448 I disagree. I think villains like Magneto, Bolivar Trask, the Sentinels, William Stryker and Sebastian Shaw were done very well in those movies. I personally don’t care if it would be underwhelming. I just want to see my favorite Marvel villain in a movie finally. I was hoping Deadpool 3 would finally do it, but once again they seem to have no interest in using Mister Sinister.

      If they could completely change his looks sure. Even as a kid I never cared for him cuz he just looks way too goofy lol. Even here he's supposed to be scary and I'm like, "Just hit him with a stick or something..."

    Spoiler free info for people: In the comics Jean really died, so the writers created a character named madelyn pryor who looked a lot like her (playing off the whole doppelganger thing where they say there's a one in a trillion chances someone just like you could exist), and Scott fell in love with her. He kept being obsessed with her maybe being some sort of reincarnation somehow or something (because the phoenix could've reincarnated her) until finally one day he asked her, "Are you Jean?", she got mad, they got over it. And the whole point was for Scott to grieve over Jean, let it go, then he fell in love with Madelyn for who she is. Then the author got super pissed when in later runs other authors brought Jean back to life, retconned her whole backstory into being a clone, and essentially Scott just leaves her and the baby to be with Jean... Many fans and critics said it was butchering Scott's character, and his whole "I can't be here for this" is sort of a nod to that whole really character butchering arc. In the comics Madelyn eventually goes super dark, angry for being abandoned, and goes evil, anti hero, good, evil, anti hero, good in so many times but she literally becomes a sort of general of hell and commands some corners of hell. That X-Men Morph turns into, the blond girl, is a nod to that, that's Madelyn's rival in hell kind of. That whole arc, where she brings people to hell is called "Inferno". So when she called it her inferno it was an easter egg to that too.

    I can freely admit that there’s been times I felt my theories are better than what was actually done… I can also freely admit that I don’t feel that way here; the way they handled Jean and Madelyn, the ambiguity of when the latter replaced the other, was very effective and done with good regard for the characters. I especially felt that Maddie was a prop in the comics, at least before her eventual resurrection, but here they recognise her humanity and need for validation outside of Jean and Scott… And on that, Scott is so well-written here; he’s handling these emotional hurdles with a lot of maturity considering his baggage, and the unfairness of the situation.
    Not to mention Sinister being a great villain, here.

    The show is very fast paced, but I guess that’s because there’s only 10 episodes. I prefer animated series with 20+ episodes so the character arcs feel less rushed. This show has quite a bit of that 90s cheesiness but it’s still fun.

  • @PeterSaenz-hz9df

    Interesting that they're expanding Morph's friendship with Logan as a one-sided love interest. I also think it's interesting that in the previous seasons, Illyana Rasputin was still a child, but this episode revealed that the Belasco storyline has already happened behind the scenes as the beginner Magik persona was shown and the advanced Darkchilde persona was shown as well. I do think that it's interesting that Gambit hasn't yet confronted Rogue about her ties to Magneto, but is just telling her "everything is good". I'm kinda interested in seeing if Corsair shows up again, after Scott's emotional father abandonment comment. Same goes with wrapping up the Scott / Alex siblings revelation that didn't quite happen in the prior X-Factor episode. P.S. Rob rocks

      @@LegendsofPodcasting Not just Scott, but Jean also. She learned how truly deep Wolverine's feelings are for her. It would be interesting to see Cyclops on the opposite side of the love triangle. It could be used to further set up the Age of Apocalypse story line, where the professor was killed, Magneto leads the X-men, and Jean/Wolverine are a couple. Heck Magneto and Rogue are even married in that timeline and have a son.

      Thing is, “One Man’s Worth” was essentially Age of Apocalypse… In fact, it was the *original* idea, which the comics adopted (but the comic came out first because it’s faster to create than a whole animated episode, let alone a two-part one).

  • @dynaguy3
    @dynaguy3 2 месяца назад

    This show seems successful but I don’t want this to start a trend of bringing back other old animated series just for nostalgia sake. I would rather see new series that have a new feel and take on the characters. The Spider-Man animated series wasn’t even the best Spider-Man cartoon.
