i tried making this cake and it looks really adorable! it turned out not as stiff as yours, but it wasnt a big problem. i also wrote down the pattern, here it is in case someone needs it: Cake box Make a magic ring Round 1: ch3, tr3, dc4, tr1, dc4, tr3, ch3, sl st into the ring; Round 2: 2sc in the ch3 space, (3dc in one stitch)×3, 2sc in ch3 space; Round 3: sc3, dc inc ×8, dc6, (dc1, tc1, dc1) in one stitch, dc6, dc inc×8, sc3; Round 4: back loop only (BLO) sc each stitch, put stitch marker on 1st stitch; Round 5-14: sc each stitch, sl st next, ch1, cut the yarn, weave in the ends. Lid Repeat pattern of rows 1-3; Round 4: sc each stitch *i added one more sc row here so the lid is bigger* Round 5: BLO each stitch Frosting Make a slipknot Find the front loops of the blo row, we will crochet into those Insert the hook into the first and the last front loops, attach tbe yarn, pull the hook through; Ch2, bubble stitch (3 or 5 incomplete dc); Sl st 2, (ch2, bubble stitch) in same stitch, repeat until the end; Sl st anywhere; Leave the long end for sewing, sew frosting and lid together; Find the first loop and the last loop of boxes bottom - BLO row, insert the hook into those loops, make a slipknot and repeat the bubble stitching. This is a very cute pattern ive made one for someones birthday and they adored it😊 I did have to change the lid a bit tho so for anyone struggling to make the lid fit try doing hdc instead of sc for round 4. It give just enough space without making the lid too big then BLO on R5 hope this helps😊

tried this, and so far it looks super cute!! if the bottom part of the cake box doesn't stand as sturdy and heart-shaped like the base, I recomend crocheting on the last row with like a thin metal wire (kinda like the one for the base of a sculpture but thinner) on top of the stich from the round before and i think it may work pretty good. the wire thingy allow you to kinda reshape it!

Highly recommend using yarn under amigurumi method for this so it’s tighter and gives more structure. My box kept being too floppy and loose until I used yarn under method!

My box is wobbly too. For the lid, repeat heart's 3 rounds, add sc each and then add blo sc each stitch round. The lid will become in shape after sewing the frosting on it.♡
to help it stand up a bit better i added a long strip of watercolor paper (any thicker paper such as a cereal box material would do) and hand-sewed it along the walls of the box - that way it’ll be able to stand up and the lid will be easier to put on !!

Follow the same pattern but use yarn that you need a bigger hook for. I used a 5mm hook with 5 ply milk cotton yarn and it was much bigger :)

Can you turn it to pop up using your fingers? If the way you sc or sl st after making one bobble stitch is different, it can turn out wrong.
