In this video we test the rumor that you can charge a phone with a fidget spinner. Check out the results! Special thanks to Benjamin Mogul for sending the spinners used in the video.

I can't believe this is true
I'm working on a similar project where I'm trying to charge a phone with a spinning wheel.
So far I've set up a generator which generates 0.5 mV / Hz. The fastest I can spin (with my feet) is 20 Hz, which gets me to about 10 mV max. Baby steps... Need to find a smaller wheel and figure out how to build a transformer.
So it's basically pointless because the chargers are supposedly in V levels, not mV? Thanks!

You should try to glue a coil to the center and glue a magnet to the outside, then connect the charger to the coil, and then you spin it. This will induct a current in the coil which will charge the device.

Azt ki mondta,hogy ezekkel a szarokkal lehet akksit tölteni?Különben is nem volt vezetékes kapcsolat,mert az USB-csatlakozót be kellet volna valahova dugni.Ha ez a hand spinner dinamó lenne,egyenirányítani kéne a feszültségét,zavarszűrő puffer kondival ellátni,és rácsatlakoztatni a tabletet.

This will never work because there has to be a change in magnetic flux in order for there to be current. In this case, the ball-bearing metal in the fidget spinner is not magnetically polarized, so there's no magnetic field. No magnetic field means no change in magnetic flux, which leads to no current being generated
Yeah that's true, but you gotta give it to him for trying to find out. I guess a better title would have been "Is it possible to charge a phone with a fidget spinner?", as to avoid clickbait

That’s stupid, connect a motor to the charger so it can spin to create energy, some phone case do this as well, I bet if you attached it to the inner rim of a fidget spinner then it can build up and actually create energy for a phone
