Back from 2017-2020, I had a previous practice that I think was heading in the wrong direction, I didn’t have a consistent practice, my main education was a book that was frequently inaccurate (not necessarily gravely so all the time but frequently enough that I wouldn’t ever recommend it), and in 2020 I suddenly felt super disconnected from the community and my practice and attempted a conversion to Judaism. After three years, three months, and three days on the dot, I was overwhelmed with a desire and an urge to return to worship of the Morrígan and to return to my old community, and had to entirely rebuild my practice from the ground up, which I’m still doing. You and the IPS has been absolutely instrumental in that, and I strongly feel that She wants me learning from the resources you and the rest of the IPS have put out there. You and the IPS have been critical to my practice, and I feel I’m in much better relationship with my practice and with the Morrígan now than I ever was, and I thank you for that. Your work as the herald was absolutely top notch and is still very helpful.
That being said, it seems like you’re able to rest more now and I’m happy for you for that lol. Go raibh maith agat.

That's good you're keeping all of your content because you can always refer others to a particular video you've done already. Also it's really generous of her to let you have a break so enjoy yourself you deserve it.

Every chance I get I try to rep y'all, cause if it weren't for IPS I wouldn't be where I am now. Hoping I can get to a place where I can do the monthly membership again, it was so worth it! I hope everything y'all do changes lives for the positive. Keep being excellent!

Okay, I finished the video. I am FOREVER grateful for the work you've done, Lora. I was thinking to myself recently that I hope She allows you to retire soon, because you've said in your more recent videos that you need to take care of yourself. And the amount of work you do is so heavy that I wasn't sure how you could care for yourself and still work. I'm so happy to hear that the most grueling parts of your service is at an end. I'm in awe of your strength and relentlessness. I would not want your job, but you are absolutely a role model for me.

LOL Lora! I love your "keep it real" or " it's not about your ego" style videos. The more I listen and learn the more I think about many pagans I've met in my path... They were focused on having grades, titles, etc...

Did anyone notice the crow hopping around in the background
It saddens me that some people who are not Irish (including diaspora, I'm sorry but you are not Irish) react poorly in this sort of manner (e.g. this ''you're gatekeeping'' bullshit) when native Irish people try to be heard, highlight misinformation and talk about their own history, lore and traditions from an Irish cultural perspective. We live in a capitalist hellscape and lots of folks have feelings of rootlessness and longing, but that doesn't confer entitlement and isn't a free pass to/excuse for doing whatever the hell you want. Such attitudes are echoes of a colonial, or perhaps neo-colonial, mindset.
So, all of this right here.
As a member of the diaspora, I agree that the diaspora need to stop whining about gatekeeping and other such nonsense. I’ve always felt a sense of longing for a stronger connection to the culture from which my ancestor came and the best way I’ve found to attempt to connect to those roots is to listen to native Irish voices rather than fellow members of the diaspora who are just as disconnected as I am. I feel like if more people adopted a “shut up and listen” attitude a lot of things would be better off.
@@pinchtwo654 Thank you pinchtwo654. Everyone is welcome to engage with and practice Irish pagan spirituality, including diaspora, as long as they do so respectfully and with care. Your comment is refreshing and appreciated. Several diaspora members have been responding in a way that can only be described as downright racist to people of colour and indigenous peoples, so it is nice to see a spark of light.
