I have strong flashbacks of that time Bandai decided to reprint BT10 and BT11 from Dragon Ball Super Card Game. When they announced it everybody was in the same state as the current OP community. Market stagnated because everybody waited for the outcome and when the products came out. The prices crashed really really hard. It's like you said in your video: people should only buy what they really want but in reality, with such booms of prices, you have people in the game that have so much money that they only buy because of the trend. (Also called investors) they don't really care about the product itself as much as the real collectors or players although they are the ones that pay the price at the end. I personally wanted to join the TCG at first but with the unavailability of produtcs, Bandai lost me and I wouldn't pay double or triple the price just to get product. This all looks like a red flag to me. Maybe I join again later when prices are (in my eyes) more realistic again. Whish the current community best of luck :)
Excellent insight andy thanks for this comment, really like the perspective from a DBS follower also. All I can say is I hope Bandai have learnt from past errors and make the right decision this time around, lots of differentiating factors including market sentiment and fear compared to the hysteria of when DBS came out and TCG companies milked it for all they could. I'm maybe somewhat foolishy confident they make some high IQ decisions for the benefit of the majority of players and casual collectors alike and not high net worth individuals who are only interested in flipping as you say because those flips are at the expense of the community as a whole. Appreciate the input dude 🔥
I vouch for the long videos! 😂 They go so quickly and I find myself looking forward to these every week. Another great Market Watch! Always love the insight and information you provide. Excited to see the Shanks graded and Japan video! 👀 💯
Appreciate you PKTWRLD as always!! Thank you for the kind words. I'm buzzing you and others like these longer ones, as you said I have some great content coming over the next few weeks, and yess Japan aswell is going to be insane 🔥🙌 this is just the start!
@@ContemporaryCollectables I will always give credit where it's due! The best Market Watch videos in the community by far! Can't wait to see what you've got planned for this year. I'll be following all the way! 😁
@@ContemporaryCollectables Was keeping eye out for the next video drop, hope you're well! Love the content, hope we get the next drop soon!
Thanks Spirited, appreciate the comment and I'm working on the next market watch right now - should be out wednesday or thursday latest! I'll think about adding JPN prices in too just dont want the video to be over an hour if i do lmao
Pulled the wanted kaido and wanted luffy from random blisters, love the art on them! I bought a Kid and am waiting to see if the Doflamingo one dips a bit more once the reprints hit to finish the set
I do speak about this in this video and the video before this one, too much to type into a comment but give them a watch - in a nutshell, it all depends on how bandai choose to do the reprints :)
Interesting, maybe as time goes on the pre errate might hold some premium but its too soon to tell imo... Niche differences like this though i can see being very significant if the TCG continues to thrive into the years to come 100%
Bandai havent said so yet but a lot of people are seemingly expecting this! I'm not convinced myself but we should have some clarity over the next few weeks/ months (sooner the better) market will react very differently depending on the answer!
Reprints will be very welcomed. I really hope Bandai prints enough for the demand but, keep a safe balance as to not kill the market totally. Crossing my figures!
What do you guys thing about the promotional cards, (winners, prerelease winnners ) that cards going to drop their prize in the future? or should I hold for a year or 2 ?
Great question, I have a video coming on my thoughts on promos and pre-release, winners cards etc so stay tuned for that - all I'll say is I do collect them :)
How are the english op sets more expensive than the japanese ones when the english has a higher pull rate for these cards i see more manga english than japanese.
Not sure they have a higher pull rate, but only japan uses japanese cards whereas the rest of the world minus asia use english prints and atm demand outpaces production by far which has caused the massive disparity, I see way more japanese speciality cards for sale over english just because the price of japanese booster boxes is much cheaper then the english boxes
its 100% because its playable and hard to pull, its a secret rare and there are 2 per PS box, two-hundred million volts amaru is extremely playable but very common hence why the price isnt like katakuri SEC. Dont underestimate rarity impacting price
@@ContemporaryCollectables as someone who plays meta it will probably drop soon in op06 there’s some kata decks that don’t run the sec card at all it’s too slow during set 6
I agree with you there and youre right in saying that bandai will phase out certain meta cards like this one, cannot wait for OP06! I've tried to avoid spoilers but its getting way too hard lol
Fair point! I'll make sure to explain, esp for newer viewers who are new to my market watch vids. I'll take that onboard fs, appreciate the feedback V!
One Piece is a genuinely good TCG and it deserves to be more accessible tbh
totally agree ippo 💯

dont worry about it, one piece has a huge following. itll be supported by the OG fans and not these "new" fans

I think we will see a dip EC, just a matter of when bandai will tell us whats happening! Appreciate you

Impressive video and content well done 👍
Thanks Ian!!
The rumor of “reprints” is the cause of this but hey I’ll fkn take any dip in the shitty prices of one piece any day!
Can you imagine if reprints come and the prices dont go down 🤣 the carnage will be insane
I saw a video where some site said the reprints won't come til 2025
He said the reliable source was mvp sports and games
what video and what site?
Please provide info, very interesting if reliable! Thanks cnel

Holy smoke two wanted cards from random blisters is insane - two nicest ones also! Having one of each is dope, great shout.
Certain boxes will not drop. For instance, first wave, blue bottom op 01 will never be reprinted. Look for items that are unique and limited.
Good advice fs 💯
Top stuff as always! 👏
Thanks Tom mate
So if there will be reprints the price be effected in what way? Positive or negative ? Thanks for these videos helped me ton !

Thanks G!
Longer videos are great! There’s not enough informative content like this available. Keep it up!
Love this ryan, thank you and I appreciate your support as usual 🫡
So the nami parallel has had errata, seems like the original wouldn't be impacted by a reprint. Thoughts!?
Interesting, maybe as time goes on the pre errate might hold some premium but its too soon to tell imo... Niche differences like this though i can see being very significant if the TCG continues to thrive into the years to come 100%
Does the reprints has something where you can know the difference between reprints and first prints?
Bandai havent said so yet but a lot of people are seemingly expecting this! I'm not convinced myself but we should have some clarity over the next few weeks/ months (sooner the better) market will react very differently depending on the answer!
does reprint mean they won't be first edition or something? what is the difference in terms of value??

Great vid. I think you are too optimistic on the bandai reprints though. I can't blame you since bandai reprints to the ground
Appreciate you king, just got to hope bandai do it the right way 🙏
The katakuri character is expensive cause it’s a playable card not because its hard to pull but the next set it starts fazing out
its 100% because its playable and hard to pull, its a secret rare and there are 2 per PS box, two-hundred million volts amaru is extremely playable but very common hence why the price isnt like katakuri SEC. Dont underestimate rarity impacting price
