For extra credit training -- this TR mission is great for practicing landing heavy / high-drag. If you just make one or two passes, don't jettison empty tanks or launchers, you'll be landing with around 5,000 lbs of fuel and high-drag stores.
It's a totally different experience than the earlier TR's where you're landing a clean, light jet with under 3,000 lbs fuel and stores. Worth practicing!
That's a great idea! Thanks!
GREAT , awesome, I'll see all your videos. Thanks for sharing,
Thanks! Glad you've enjoyed it!
Awesome!
DTOS is underrated, for when you have visual targets of opportunity. Although I like CCIP when you have a TGP slaved to the AGR to show the precise point of impact.
Awesome! CCIP with the help of the TPG, I have to try that!
A few days ago I found out that you can use the TGP for aiming the gun for strafing: ruclips.net/video/lBzi_ERibgI/видео.html
hi great video can you tell me where u got for kneeboards from as the ones in the sim (bms 4.37)are totaly different
Will you be doing the AGM-65 TEs? I really like learning from your videos -- you always seem to include things you've learned, that others leave out of their run-throughs.
I'm really trying to pin down if the *"A"* and *"B"* variants can be boresighted with the TGP, or if they're strictly for *VIS* and *BORE* modes only.
Yes Wilco! (I've neglected the training mission videos a bit in the last weeks. Sorry...)
I think you can boresight any Maverick variant, but IIRC if you have the A and B variants, you usually don't have TGPs. But still boresighting can be useful, even with VIS mode. I learned that in one of our Saturday BMS Events: We were attacking tanks with 65Bs in VIS mode, and the TD box in the HUD didn't match with the missle LOS in the WPN page. (as seen here: ruclips.net/video/ysO6WiNh6-E/видео.html )
Even without a TGP you could boresight, with the FCR or with the HUD (in VIS).

Would you answer a question on *BORE* mode: May he's using an older build of BMS (4.32 or 4.33) but Krause is able to move around the actual "HUD aiming cross" and designate targets. When I _TMS UP_ and slew the cursor, an *AIMING CIRCLE* comes _off_ of the HUD cross. Do you know if that part of the recent builds, or the result of a missed step in my Mav workflow?
@Animation Engineer Krause's video is almost 10 years old, and the Mavericks had major changes since.
This is was the 4.35 dash-34 manual says about BORE mode (emphasis by me):
"The BORE submode displays are similar to the PRE displays except that the AGM-65 seeker head is pointed to the nominal boresight, which is roughly aligned with the E-O reticle (cross) on the HUD. This allows for firing on targets of opportunity without disturbing the FCR track position. ***The aircraft is flown to place the HUD E-O reticle on or close to the target*** . With the WPN format as SOI, the cursor is slewed to refine the AGM-65 target."
This is how I understand BORE mode:
1. Fly the aircraft to point on or near your target
2. TMS-Up to stabilize
3. Refine the TD on the WPN page
4. TMS-Up to lock on the target
5. When in parameters: Rifle!
@@steviesgames Thanks again. I was thinking the symbology etc. had since been updated, but I really just was not sure ......
I follow your vid and the manual. Im doing the ccip drop but when i press the pickel button the bombs dont release. Any ideas as ive checked settings all look ok...
I love your videos, but in ccrp, when go to the left MFD I only have the NORM option when you change between those... waypoints I think? So I never get the correct target
Nice pro keep up but have a question how to release the bombs in ccip mode because idk how to release them with the keyboard or iam just look at the target and thim well release automatically and thank you
Press "Space" to drop a bomb, sometimes you have to hold it for a few seconds. Also, CCIP works best when you're in a dive. If your dive is too shallow, CCIP turns into some kind of CCRP and you'll have to chase the release cue while holding pickle (="Space")
Really struggling with this, no matter how level my wings are or what altitude I just can't hit a single target in either mode and sometimes the bombs just do not drop. Followed this just as you do it and read the manual and it just doesn't seem to work for me at all. Do I need to program something in for wind or qnh or anything?
I struggled too in the beginning. Keep practicing, it will get better!
Here are a few tips:
- Make sure Master Arm is set to ARM ;)
- Stick to one mode of delivery (eg. CCRP or CCIP) first until you get comfortable, and then practice the next one
- Take your time, don't hurry. Always go back to the IP, and set everything up for a relaxed and controlled attack run
- Keep your speed up, don't get too slow
- Keep the steering line centered
in my , the CCRP mode, the second cue, dont release at the top of the bracket, only on bottom
The CCRP lofting symbology has changed quite a bit since 4.35 - my video is a bit outdated there, unfortunately.
Still valid. Im trying to do like you but need more training to performe
