    This is super helpful for the complexities of ATC and other radio communications. Few other sims even touch on this, so it can be kind of a lot to learn for noobs.

    • @AviationPlus
      @AviationPlus  Год назад

      There is defiantly something to learn when it comes to the ATC but some of us are already familiar with ATC IRL so it is an easy transition but for others it might not be. Thanks for watching.

      I’m no noob. I’m coming back to Falcon BMS after several years away, but I have over 1000 hours in it … and this new stuff is still a lot to learn!

    Definitely one of the toughest things to get used to when I added BMS to the rotation on top of DCS.
    With DCS, you don't really need to mess with comms outside of getting the tanker to let you refuel, but with the moving parts in BMS, you really needed to get that sorted out for all parts of the flight.

    • @AviationPlus
      @AviationPlus  Год назад +5

      It is something that you need to get used to. However, some of us are real pilots and it just make sense to us but for the majority it is not as intuitive. ATC in BMS isn't needed but it is when the airspace is very crowded or there is bad weather and you can't see the runway you will need some help to find it. Thanks for watching!

    • @aaronwhite1786
      @aaronwhite1786 Год назад +3

      @@AviationPlus Ha, yeah. Always jealous of the real pilots, especially online.
      You never forget your first time trying to use comms on a multiplayer server when you're not a pilot. "Uhh...Falcon 1-1...2 ship...uhhh...leaving...shit, where am I?"

    I don't know if you learned about this since making this video, but you don't need to type in the preset every single time you wish to switch frequencies. You just need to select the UHF data field on the DED CNI page with dobber switch up/down, then use the increment switch next to the dobber switch to change preset frequencies easily. It comes in really handy when you're switching ATC frequencies for take-off and landing, and you no longer have to prepare the next preset frequency like you did at 9:34.
    You can also change steerpoints with the same method, but of course you need to select the steerpoint data field on the DED CNI page before doing so. When I'm on BARCAP and I need to stay in the AO, I always just turn on A/P, then change the steerpoint back and forth with the increment switch. It's also incredibly useful when you have target steerpoints, you can rapidly switch between each target without having to manually type in those steerpoints. If you have GPS guided bombs, you can basically do the entire bomb-run in about 10 seconds this way, with multiple ground targets destroyed.

Need to make a notebook with all of the essential controls until i memorize them. Love how in depth these sims are but also hate it at the same time 😄 learning curve is massive. I feel like when im done, I'll be able to hop into a real F-16/F-15 and know whats up lol.

    since you usually ask for feedback I will tell you something. This video is very good and is up to date but it is a subject already covered that is in the training missions manual and in some videos on RUclips. After a few weeks watching tutorials, reading the manuals (the importance of reading the threat manual or having the charts on hand for the ils in bad weather is not usually emphasized), I think what is needed is someone who played a campaign and analyzed the micromanagement of it in 2d. From the beginning to the end. And IF possible several campaigns because each one advances in a different way. There are videos but only un the first day and the needs change as the campaign progresses. This is the point that gives us more playability and fun (I also fly online but many newbies don't take the plunge). The thing is that if you play ace to get the medals you have to avoid suicide squads, change priorities and change mission types as the campaign progresses. This micromanagement is frustrating because you don't know what to do and yes, I know a very detailed video came out recently explaining the logic of the campaign and priorities from day one but not throughout its evolution. This is not a trivial issue, in fact, update 3 comes with improvements in this regard. Anyway, it's an idea, I think it could help many players. I guess the priorities change depending on the direction the campaign is moving. Another subject rarely covered in the tutorials is weapons. I mean, we know how to fire the main armaments but we don't know the differences between all the cbu, gbu, etc. Which one is better to destroy some supply trucks, which one is more effective for tanks, which one is better for ships. This would not be a difficult video to make, just open the game dropdown and see bomb by bomb explaining what it is effective for. Well, they are ideas, things that I can't find and I miss as a newbie. Thanks for your videos.

    • @AviationPlus
      @AviationPlus  Год назад

      Most do not like to read the manual and others don't want to watch a video that is more than 5 minutes, but want to get really good at flying. I am not sure about the following and teaching what to do as a campaign goes on, that just might be personal preference and learning what mission to perform and predicting if it is possible and not mission impossible.
      I am liking the weapons video that you explained that would be a pretty good video. I am familiar with the weapons and know what to use when but creating a video will force me to have a better understanding. Thank you for your comment and feedback.

      Games can have the best graphics but if the game play and experiences are trash people won't play long. However, if the gameplay and experiences are top notch people will keep coming back to play more.
      Most feel that DCS doesn't have any actual replayability and BMS has the experience that keeps you busy not allowing for time to sight see.
      I always try to place DCS but it feels empty and creating missions takes forever.
