My first experience with the church as a child was another kid telling me all of their faults, but my mother quickly corrected that and told me how kind and genuine they are. I didn’t believe her until, as a teenager, I wandered into an LDS church and was greeted warmly and invited to a relief meeting. I honestly fell in love with it right then. I’m not sure if I’ll ever convert, but every time I walk past an LDS church I get this wonderfully warm feeling... like coming home, if that makes sense.

Way to go for recognizing that feeling! 🥰 I feel the exact same thing! I try and seek out people, videos, and experiences that invite that same feeling into my heart and mind. I served a mission for the LDS church in Texas and loved seeing the light come into people’s lives when they too sought out opportunities to feel the Spirit of Christ. Best wishes in your life journey!

Jesus is the way the truth and the life no one come to the father except through Me John 14:6. There is only one God the God in the bible. A Christian is someone who believes in the bible words only and no other book. Jesus wasn't made he was here since the beginning because he is God John 1:1-3. Mormon religion is all a secret they dont want the world to know what they do in the temples.Jesus died on the cross for man kind the veil was torn in two from top to bottom that's when he gave all man kind the opportunity to enter in to his temple. Matthew 27:51. The Bible is there in your hands to read but your church doesn't want you to read it because you will find the true Living God not the god that Smith made up. There is proof on this planet of things in the bible but nothing in the book of mormon can be found as proof of the ones that lived in the Americas. I say this out of Love because there are only two paths to ETERNITY. Find the truth and the truth shall set you free. All man is of sin works will not save you but Believing in the words of God will. God bless Jeremiah 17:9

Believe it or not I used to doubt Our Heavenly Father and his love for all of us. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints over 5 years ago when I was 17. I just got home from my mission about 2 weeks ago. The church has really helped me in life and the church has helped me get through my many trials and hardships that I faced in life. I only came to realize that those trials made me stronger. Sometimes even as a returned missionary and as a member I have many doubts come into my head about the church, Joseph Smith, and the Book of Mormon, but those feelings are replaced with peaceful thoughts instantly. I even dwelled on Anti material I received from other people as a missionary who weren’t the biggest fans of the church. We do live in a hard time of great divide and trial. I almost left the church because of what’s going on in the world. Until I realized through my missionary service, the lord sent people into my life who i now call my family and friends.

I've converted about 3months ago. I thought it was a cult at first and I wanted to "investigate" . Ill always remember my first lesson. It changed my life. The day I met them I through the BOM on the couch and my mother asked me if I am gonna read it. I said why would I change my religion when I know I have the right one. I went to a baptism the next day and after that i never missed a event. I went with a newly convert and she became my cloest friend. She is practically my guardian angel. But I had been worried id be judged. Im 19 with pink hair and a single mother of a mixed baby. But I have not once been judged and everyone is so welcoming and Abraham (my son) is so loved by thr church and has the best support system now. I can truly say the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints is true. I had been struggling with depression, anxiety, ocd, insomnia, a eating disorder and bad addiction. I had tried everything for over 4 years and nothing worked. Now i still struggle with alot of stuff but i know I can beat it with heavenly father by my side. And I have never been happier

The true church is spoken of in the book of Acts and the epistles.
There was no endowment ceremony, no mandatory tithing, no worthiness interviews, they did not worship a god that came from another planet, they did not mock Jesus Christ and say he was the brother of Lucifer, no restored priesthood ( Jesus is our High Priest forever after the order of Melchizedek), no baptizing for the dead (I Cor. 15 speaks of pagans baptizing for the dead.), no secret handshakes, no holy underwear, no temple recommend, no temple (they met in homes), no salvation by grace after all you can do, no veil was put back up that God had torn in two, they did not believe they would become a god someday, women were not hoping to share their husbands with other women and be pregnant for all eternity populating a planet, etc..

I honestly love converts who have come from hard places. Because I have come from hard places. I was born in the covenant, but I was wild and so far off from the day I was 12 years old I quit going to church regularly. And the only thing I ever knew, was I believed in God and Jesus Christ. And around 20-21 years old I decided I wanted to read the Book of Mormon. And I would either get a witness or I wouldn't. If I did I would know. And if I didn't at least I knew what I was not choosing to believe in. And I did receive an undeniable witness. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored truth talked about in the bible. And I am so grateful to have been born into it. And humbled down enough to find that out for out myself.

Samantha C: we all go thru 'slump' days or weeks, maybe months... but always remember that your belief is between you and the God in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Not man. The name of Joseph Smith always comes up with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, because he translated the plates into the Book of Mormon. Remember that since this mortal world was created Heavenly Father always called certain man to perform what He thinks His people need to learn, know or understand and He calls them for that. Like Adam, Noah, Moses, David, Samuel, Abraham, etc., as Joseph Smith, who was chosen to translate plates of brass into the Book of Mormon.
Myself, I am a Native American, I was given a book to read and found out my bedtime stories since childhood in there. They were of people with names, not animals. Reading the Book of Mormon as a 14 year old, I was converted right then and there.
First in my family to get baptized, so I could go to school on a Indian Placement Program; hindsight I can see how it all came together for me. My parents, grandparents were not members of any churches; they were traditional, infact my grandfather, a medicine man told me those stories from childhood. I lived on the reservation, miles apart from neighbors, who were families. No amenities, like libraries or shopping centers were available. Never owned a book. My 2nd year in school I was handed this book and found my bedtime stories in it. It blew my mind, I didn't know what to do. My chest burned for days, I finished reading the book in a week. I knew it was true, never prayed on my knees before but I was compelled to do it.
Traditionally we used cornmeal as offering for prayer every morning and evening.
Reading the BOM was like grandpa talking to me, telling me how to be that first time, now I read it like Christ is talking to me. He is telling me He is fighting for my soul, I so grateful to God that He cares for me, loves me enough to fight for me. In the book of Alma, all those wars n rumors of wars, God is fighting for our souls and I pray that WE will help Him win our souls so we can live with Him again. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

She was never a Sister-Missionary, but tended to conduct her life like one. I cannot ever hate her for never wanting me- I'm largely okay with it. She still makes my *_*heart-_** *_*throw-_** *_*up-_** *_*however._** She IS a very good example of HOW TO BE. She lives in Illinois now. I however, now live in a shelter in Phoenix and I'm stuck at Undergraduate Algebra II and racked up most of my 86 college credits when I met her in Apache Junction. I did however meet someone else, but, had a horrible decision lead to the abrupt end of what I had for a little bit with the other woman. Ross Faith Banlaoi I love listening to their conversion stories

  • @Kashi_Mochibean
    @Kashi_Mochibean Год назад

I think we love conversion stories and different perspectives and want to ask these question. But the thing I think most awkward about it is that we specifically *don't* want to give the false impression that there is a divider between being a recent convert and being born and raised in the church.
The "converts" are no less members than the "my parents were members" crowd, in fact more rather, I find the converts tend to be more firm and earnest in their beliefs while the others have higher likelihood of taking things less seriously, apologizing for what they believe, or pretending to believe while boasting the opposite values in politics. The converts I know are better at reading their scriptures and participating in discussions than most of the "life-long-members" I know. I think due to this we can end up surprised to find out you are a convert and then be worried the surprise came off the wrong way. Like there's this fear that we can come off as prideful over being born in the church, which is just luck, as though asking these questions means we see still you as an outsider or something. But generally it's from a place of respect where we are interested in your experience. And I hoped that's well understood. Sorry that was all very long winded, but no I don't think it's about race or anything like that

It sounds cultish when the converts said the following:
    - They thought Mormons were a weird bunch of people. It's true; Mormons claim they are "peculiar".
    - Coverts say it is hard for those born in the church to ask about conversions because they wouldn't feel comfortable if they were asked the same question.
    - A black convert acknowledges that a black man joining the church is something that would be questionable, suggesting there is past or current racism.
    - Converts say "all" the Mormon words and acronyms are confusing and took a long time to understand.
    - When asked if it sounded crazy almost all the converts say it did and that it still does sound a little crazy.
    - Converts admit that they continually ask themselves why they continue in the church and how difficult it can be.
    - Converts associate happiness in their life to be directly correlated with church attendance and are taught to associate good feelings with the truth, dismissing logic.

Mormons don’t believe in salvation by works alone. They actually believe that salvation ONLY came through the Atonement of Jesus. Our EXALTATION comes from faith, baptism, and enduring to the end. In fact, Mormons literally believe that EVERYONE is already saved through the blood of Jesus, whether they believe or not. Our “works” (which are literally just covenanting with God - baptism, confirmation, faith, enduring) show Jesus that we were His “good and faithful servants.” We are SAVED BY JESUS’ GRACE, but exalted by our choice to follow Him and our faithful service to Him. That is what Mormons believe.

The entire Bible is focused around one central message: humans have sinned against a holy and just God and we have broken every one of His commandments in letter or spirit, and we deserve His just wrath. However, God who is rich in mercy made a way that He would be just AND the justifier of the one who has FAITH in Jesus! Jesus took the punishment we deserve by living the sinless life we could never live and dying the death we deserve and rising again three days later. God can legally dismiss your case simply by you repenting and trusting in Christ. Agree with God, and be at peace. You cannot save yourself, you must rest alone upon Christ’s merits.
