frogirl Ginny 😍 it! I wish I could wear my hair out as often as you do and still retain length! I have to keep my end tucked away 95 percent just to hold on to anything! Also when you said '97, I felt soo old, I'm like 15 years older than you! Lol, regardless thx for sharing your story, and your responding to me on instagram, that was awesome!
When you Start watching Hair tutorials You Can't Stop! That is so true you become addicted to those things I have been watching them for like for a long time now and it is amazing how you never run out of hair videos to watch But I am a guy who started growing my hair late last year and when I tell you I have been on a hair Journey I mean i Have been on a hair journeynd recently cut it in February mainly but it was only due to what my friends thought an I regret it and I'm growing it back but they are very few guys which i can watch on youtube for help so one day I would like to be that person someone watches and gets inspiration from
Jade Prezeau well, that's you. That is not the case here. I was actually giving Ginny a compliment and I'm pretty sure she knows it's a compliment as I have heard Ginny herself refer to her hair as a lion's mane. She loves that term and I do too so really, you're wasting your time here
My mom is Caucasian and my dad didn't know anything so it was a struggle. From a young age I just wanted to relax it and my mom was like no you, can relax it if you still want to when you're ten. Ten came along and I was like nah whatever. I kept it flat ironed for a long while and neglected to wash it, so it broke off and was very dry. Last year I started really nursing it back to health and embracing it and loving and apologizing for neglect. Me and my mom have RUclipsd and Pinterested and I'm thirteen now and my hair is finally happy and moisture and curly and resting length. :) I watched the vid and it made me happy that there was someone else who knew nothing at all and just fussed with it.
I'm white girl and used to have hair very similar to yours before (not that much hair, but almost). it's huge problem for me to keep hair moisted and smooth or grow it longer.
frogirl Ginny I'm as old as you and my german mom also never knew what to do with my hair. I always kept it closed in cornrows or other protective styles. when I hit puberty and wore my hair open for the first time in public I got very positive response:)
Her face looks quite young, she actually looks way younger than 19 in the thumbnail picture on the left. The current hairstyle ages her due to the strong vibes of the past. Those iconic era of Diana Ross, Tina Turner and Donna Summer. I love it.
frogirl Ginny Your Hair Is Beautiful. My Daughter Has Hair Like Her Father ( A Mexican Latino ) When She Washes Her Hair & Doesn't Dry It. It Looks Like Your But Not As Big. Sometimes It Would Be So Beautiful To See Her Hair As Big As Yours. 😊
This is so inspiring to me because I feel like I'm on the same journey. I had natural hair for most of my life and a couple years ago I started getting a relaxer because I thought it would be easier to manage. I miss my natural hair so I'm transitioning back!🙌🏾🙌🏾 I can't wait to be natural again😭
SterlsTacos I went through my journey last year girl and still going through it. It's so hard honestly but you actually learn to love yourself on a different level and it's such a beautiful thing ❤️
congrats on transitioning. I'm currently transitioning as well. this will be my first time going natural cause I've had a relaxer since my I was a child.
LOVED THIS!! You actually inspired me to go natural after years of straightening and now I have a full head of healthy natural hair:) keep making inspirational videos because you are my motivation!!!
Thank for being someone that is relatable I'm so happy that a person as original as yourself is on RUclips trying to make a difference! Xoxo you're amazing thank you Ginny!!
I really enjoyed this video. I am currently 28 and the journey of finding yourself and self love is different for everyone. You learn new things about yourself everyday and I am sure you are figuring that out now. I wish you all the best!!!💚💚💚💚
This video is so genuine and bright. I have never relaxed my hair but I know the frustration of heat damage and wanting to start fresh and new, for you only. The product angst and the quest for growth LOL been battling that for years!! I'm so privileged to see you through this journey and to inspire other curl friends around me to love themselves and love the hair they were born with and to just love and thrive! Looking forward to all the work you do in the near future and years to come! xoxo- Subi
Nia, Thank You for this video. Although all of your videos are so interesting and amazing, I still feel like this makes you so much more relatable. So much more within reach, and sincerely, it gives me hope. You have become a flickering light to those that are walking forward and onward in the Natural Hair community. And I Thank You for that. Your mane is lovely, and so are you as a whole. God Bless You Nia. May the Sunflower that you have blossomed as always keep on growing, glowing ever stronger and more magnificent than it already is. And hopefully, you will come to Tampa Florida one day! I would definitely go and meet you! 💕🌻💕
Thank you so much for sharing your story ❤️ I never would've thought you had relaxers , I am currently transitioning with May marking one year being natural
Wow this is truly inspirational. I've followed you on Instagram for a while as I am a curly girl too😊. This is the first video of you that I've watched I am so so happy that I did😍. I'm 15 and have never had to transition from damage because thank god that my mum didn't let me straighten or relax my hair😂 but from when I was younger i never liked my hair and I always wanted to fit in because I felt so insecure about my frizzy puffy hair. but since I started taking care of my hair about a year ago and watching many RUclips videos, researching etc etc it has really built my confidence. To see how far you've come and you're only 19 is amazing to me. You and many other curly and afro textured girls and guys are the reason why many people have decided to love their culture and embrace who they are! I really hope you succeed in anything you want to do in life because you seem like such an amazing girl and I wish I had this type of positivity about curly hair a few years back!💖💖💖
I loved this video, I can't tell you how much I relate to your story. Growing up with curly hair I never knew how to take care of it or manage it making it really hard for me to embrace it so I ended up straightening it for most of middle school and high school. It wasn't until last year in my first year of college that I truly started appreciating it and searching for ways to take care of it. Finally I decided to big chop it and so now it's been a full year of me embracing this part of me and being on my journey to happiness. I'm super excited and I'm definitely not going back! So thank you for your helpful tips and videos, I truly appreciate and support what you do.💖💖kisses from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Very inspiring Frogirl Ginny! I've just started to imbrace my hair and get into bing watching curly hair tutorials too and I just love it. NEW Subscriber here :) Thanks for sharing your story with us keep that fro growing!!
Always so informative and inspiring! I was wondering how you got your start in styling/cutting/repairing others' curly hair? I've had an interest in doing that for so long but in the US we need a cosmo license. Is that how you built your clientele?
Fro girl.. you sound so chill.. and I'm going through a hair journey myself I chopped it all off starting from scratch and love ur vids.. you make me motivated to get my hair back to how it use to be healthy and curly ✌🏽
I honestly love this ! You've actually helped me with my hair in the last year. I can't wait to do my hair journey video on my channel hopefully you'll see it and like my journey too !
you look like a queen with that crown!! i big chopped 10 months ago w/ 1 inch of hair on my head. I have enjoyed growing my curly, kinky, coily hair out. not going back. stay natural!!
The front/outside part of my hair is curly, but underneath is so straight for some reason? I never noticed it until about 1/2 years ago and I hate it! I very rarely put heat in my hair so it can't be heat damage? Any tips to get my curls back? 💕
Even just putting heat in your hair once can damage it, it all depends on how high a heat setting you use and how much or how little your hair can take.
take as much gentle care of your hair as you can. protective styles and deep conditioning every night will help but in the long run you have to cut off the straight parts cause they're irreversibly damaged. Even if you just cut little by little every few weeks/month. I bought myself a pair of scissors from a beauty supply store so i can trim whenever i want. =)
It is not uncommon to have more than one texture on your head. Plenty of people do. I do. Relax. Cleanse, deep condition and stay away from heat. If it doesn't go away or you notice from the roots that's how its growing then that's just the way your hair grows. The answer isn't always heat damage.
I went natural about a year ago. I am still very new when it comes to caring for my hair! My mother is white so she always had my sister and I straighten or something. It has been very liberating indeed. So many WOC come up to me and just start conversation! It makes me so happy! Your length is literally goals and I am looking forward to my amazing hair! Thank you for sharing your journey! You are beautiful.
When the video first started and your hair took over the screen, WOW!! just wow. Gorgeous, gorgeous - Beautiful inside and out :) You revitalized my passion for wearing my fro!
this video inspired me to finally try my best to love my hair. i've big chopped twice , this time actually shaving it to a size 1 with clippers.. and it's been a year now and all i've done is try to hide it. i don't want to hide it anymore. i am sooo obsessed with curls but could never be in love with mine. seeing your amazing fro makes me want to let mine go and let it fro too!! Thank you so much for this video. Your spirit is beautiful! i hope to be like you one day 💜
You are officially my first hair crush ever (and I'm nearly 30!). I love how you wear your hair and it doesn't wear you. I'm a natural redhead with incredibly thick hair, and the frizz and "poof" are unreal. Also, you have one of the most calming, peaceful speaking voices I've ever heard. Even my husband commented on how lovely you sound! Please keep being you, unashamedly.
What a lovely young lady you are. I definitely understand where you’re coming from I am a Dominican woman and I have had a very similar journey where I was always straightening my hair in order to fit in or to wear a hairstyle other people were more comfortable with. I haven’t had that issue in years I am 49 now but it is nice to see you embracing your roots as I did mine. May your journey be fruitful and blessed.
Wow you are so soft and well spoken and I could seriously listen to you all day. Your hair is seriously so beautiful. We were born with our hair and bodies a certain way and while there's nothing wrong with changing it, I am completely for embracing what you naturally have. I'm white and have extremely thick, wavy long hair I always used to flat iron every day and the past few years I've stopped using all hot tools except for my curling wand when I feel like curling it but I wear my hair down now and let it air dry. I was way too self conscious to in the past but now I don't think twice about it and since I cut out all the hot tools it looks sooo much better esp when I do leave it down naturally. Your message is really important and I feel like you're helping soooo many girls. And boys too. But keep up the vids :)
frogirl Ginny oh my gosh, i thought you were older than that. Please dont take that the wrong way but you just look older; maybe around 23, 24. Plus you seem so independent! Much love
So happy for you :) I always had my curls never relaxed it, but always wearing it in a bun. Learning how to handle it. can't wait for the day when I'll wear my hair loose.
Yes my beautiful sister.....I'm glad you discovered your power young......I did not know the potential of my hair until I was in my mid/late 20's........... your wisdom is beyond your years thank you for sharing you have received a new sub
Finally, someone with the EXACT same natural hair story as me!!! I have A LOT of hair and my mom relaxed it for the same reason. Now it's been about 5 years and my hair is awesome I love it!!
I love how soft you speak, and how positive you are. You're very calming, and super inspiring.
Thank you!
allthingsjianni yup you are totally right it's soooo true
frogirl Ginny 😍 it!

Always so informative and inspiring! I was wondering how you got your start in styling/cutting/repairing others' curly hair? I've had an interest in doing that for so long but in the US we need a cosmo license. Is that how you built your clientele?

Harry potter lol
Loved this honest, humble, REAL video FroGirl - keep being Groovy yourself, and rock out naturally! Besos :)
And people wonder why im afraid to get my hair cut at a salon. They NEVER do it right. When i say trim, that doesn't mean cut off 3 inches!
Fro girl - the best hair on youtube. Well done for stopping the hair straighteners and rediscovering your natural fro.
Cheyenne Calverley You could try apple cidar vinegar or mayonaise. Twist outs have trained many people's hair back into curls.
take as much gentle care of your hair as you can. protective styles and deep conditioning every night will help but in the long run you have to cut off the straight parts cause they're irreversibly damaged. Even if you just cut little by little every few weeks/month. I bought myself a pair of scissors from a beauty supply store so i can trim whenever i want. =)

I have the same, just different textures throughout my hair, and I know it's not heat damage because I don't use heat
