Hi. About the grinding thing you were observing. I do not work for Victorinox but I am a mechanical design engineer and I can give you te reason for that. Any bend have to have a clearance area on both sides. This is meaning that for few mm away from the bend (depending on the radius of the bend and material thikness) you should not have any thiknes deterioration or holes etc. If they were doing the grinding close to the bend at bending moment the blade will deforme near it.
It seems to me that the tab for the one handed opening would have been performed (bent upward) before the blade was ground (probably because it could break the blade if they had bent the tab after the blade was ground) If so, and if the grind was done on a belt sander, the shape of the grind makes sense. The blade would have to tilted (point up) to get the belt back to the hilt...which to me explains why the bevel plane is at an angle veering away from the centerline of the blade (an angle away from the cutting edge.) Personally, as much as I like my pocket clip on my waves and wave plus, I would not give up the superior functionality of the spirit x blade profile. I will get a spirit x and not the spirit mx. Currently I have the bigger swisstool. Nice review
Was looking for this video and here it is. Thank you. You might like Karas Kustoms pens. Their Render K in brass is my go-to carry pen, but they have a fountain variant (Fountain K) you may enjoy. Thumbs Up!
I was hoping to learn about the differences in blades between the two multi-tools (blades as in all the flip out blades with different tool functions). Unfortunately I still don't know what the actual difference between the two models is.
Sharpening is okay, it just requires an angled approach on a sharpening stone. I haven’t cut anything deeply enough to get the tab to snag, but I think it could. That being said, if your cutting tasks are that demanding this knife is not what you want. 154CM on a Leatherman is better for cutting performance
I’m trying to decide between the Spirit MX and a Leatherman P4 for an outdoor/hiking multitool. Could you recommend one over the other for this purpose?
Probably the Spirit MX. Better awl, can opener, file, and sheath that the P4. P4 is more fidget friendly and easy to access tools but for outdoors the Spirit is going to be better
Hello. Could you tell me which one would be more comfortable for a lefty? Would the main blade be more comfortable for a lefty (While in use) in the X or MX? Thank you
I didn't know tha American aerospace uses the metric system ( I assume you're American?! Sorry if I'm mistaken) I know for a fact that American automotive industry uses the metric system, that's odd. I haven't check your channel recently, I'll do know, forgot you have great content. Cheers
I worked at a factory that was physically in America, but run by a company based in the Netherlands. We used metric and 24 hour time and I enjoy both of those systems more than what I was taught in school 😂 it’s possible a US company like GE could use standard, but aerospace companies are secretive about production. I appreciate your comment and thanks for watching!
Cary Mx Spirit for 2 ares, and it's super good . Cost me 100€ in Vic store on sale . And its 200grams like a bigger packet knife . And more i use it more like it.
I just got my spirit x and was wondering if you could help me out. I noticed my pliers have some wiggle to them. Do yours have any play in the plier heads?
The video title and thumbnail both explicitly say that it’s blade only… so I’m not sure what you expected If you want to see every other tool, I have a review of the SwissTool Spirit X on this channel. The MX and X share every tool except the blades

Good information, thanks!
Appreciate the video! I was wondering about the cutting geometry as well so busting out the calipers was great to see.
Glad you appreciate it! I always prefer measurements and accuracy to eyeballing and conjecture

You can get the pocketclip on it own, so you can add it to older models of the spirit X as well.

I appreciate your reviews .
Not sure if you have heard of ASMR but your voice would work well I believe. 🤗💗
I’ve heard of it and I take that as a compliment, thank you! And thanks for watching 😁

Nice analysis, thanks!
It's interesting that Victorinox does a similar gring on the blade of the one hand opening Rangergrip knives.
Do you think the extra metal on the mx blade for one hand opening would get in the way while sharpening or cutting?

The thumbnail is misleading, I thought the MX is being compared to the full size Swisstool X.
Great comparison video tho
Crap, I didn’t mean to do that. I’ll fix it
That'll do it! Been watching every videos, cool stuff man!
@@inkiron3907 you should do a vid about that too! It would be Interesting to see how the spirit mx compared to the spirit x compared to swisstool x

Any leads on a retailer with stock of the Spirit MX ?
Been searching for one, but there out of stock everywhere i look.
Any leads appreciated 🙏

Awesome!
I just got my spirit x and was wondering if you could help me out. I noticed my pliers have some wiggle to them. Do yours have any play in the plier heads?
Hi, my swisstool has some play in the pliers. Bt my spirit x was very tight.
It's normal, had two and both aren't tight after years of use, as expected.
@@groundless1238 Actually mine is very tight afte several years of use. Just the Swisstool comes more loose than the Spirit for some reason.
Both my SwissTool Spirits have a touch of play in the pliers. Less than the thickness of a fingernail on both
Slicer grind Victoronox!
Wonder when the spanto is coming out. Lol.
Give them a good 20 years for that one lol
Very good review, I subscribe👍
Great video but please increase volume levels
Future Multitool videos will be much louder
That blade 60 mm. The rest is just a non sharp portion that connects the cutting blade to the tool
60mm of cutting edge 👍 but “blade length” is my term for the full tool’s length in all my videos
Only compared the primary blade. Not the entire tool…
The video title and thumbnail both explicitly say that it’s blade only… so I’m not sure what you expected
If you want to see every other tool, I have a review of the SwissTool Spirit X on this channel. The MX and X share every tool except the blades
I'll compare the rest of the tools for you: they are the same. Follow me for more comparisons.
@@inkiron3907 Thanks for confirming I’m correct 🙄
@@MrForcats only thing confirmed is your lack of reading comprehension
The volume IS toooooo low
