@@ogey_elise I literally only started listening to the album at the beginning of the pandemic, just as everything was shutting down, so that song will forever remind me of that
The outro of this song was one of the most spectacular things I've experienced in a live concert. It's more than a normal gig with nin it's an experience.
This song is like watching the sun cry. When the verses seem to build to something that will self-destruct, but then just resolves into a quiet, moody sort of feigned contentment. Oh, magnificent.
The build up, the tribal drums, the sax, the melodic guitar, and the soulful voices of the backup singers. This is heaven. Man I cannot wait to see what this band has in store for us in the future. Keep pushing the envelope!
This is my favorite NIN song now. My god, this live version is life changing. The subtle guitar near and sax make this song to me. The song builds so well (much like many NIN songs)
Goddamn! Those background singers bring the whole thing together in a way that REALLY takes the song to the next level! I never imagined the songs could get any better than the album.
Ughhhhh my god. This takes me back to how Trent made me feel when I first started listening to NIN. That outro is incredible. Fucking phenomenal performance.
It's always the same story when I hear an album of Nine Inch Nails for the 1st time, it cost to enter the ear and rare are the times when I enjoy the music right away, but if we insist for a little bit, we end up loving them all, and then we just cant stop hearing them, all the time. NIN never desapointing me, its a band that we learn to love, we must learn to hear to enjoy. The tactic is always the same, first i start by paying attention to the lyrics, which are always beautifully written, and while I do, my ear start to mold itself around music, start to enjoy and enjoy even more the sound, and then it never stops, as much as i hear i love it even more, this reach a point that i just cant stop hearing it, this tactic never fails (sorry for the poor english, for me, not an english native speaker, talk its easy but write is way harder).
So true Helder!! and with earphones in the music takes u even further, discovering even more. I highly recommend going 'in ear' for the fullest appreciation!!
I totally agree, Helder. Nine Inch Nails is definitely a "repeated listen" band. Sometimes even years later in a silent room with headphones you mention Andrew, I hear things that I never heard before. There are a ridiculous number of layers to curl up in my ears. It is only occasionally I find a track that I don't like but for the most part, and this includes the remixes and B sides as well, I can shuffle the entire library and love everything. I am a highly trained classical musican and I love NIN because its complexities challenge me...and also when I get really depressed it keeps me going...and Robin Finck omg :P
What else I like Annie, is the fact that I feel I have matured alongside trent reznor and his musical taste/direction. Having grown up on NIN, and now being 36yrs young, I get everything out of his music I could want and more. I feel he's kept true to himself and it just works. still as relevant as ever, without giving anything up, its still all classic NIN. Being a musician myself, like u, im never left wanting. He delivers!! And with how many artists from my youth is this the case. Not enough, that's for sure. now I just need to get to one of his amazing live shows to complete the experience. Rock on NIN!!
yes you DEFINITELY need a NIN concert before you die. There is nothing more important! I'm 36 too and I accidentally discovered NIN when I was 15 and I lent a friend some money to buy Broken. For the first time ever I found someone screaming NO instead of YES.
I seriously cannot decide which thing is better: The dirtier live sound, Pino's killer bassline, the back bocalists, that sexy sax, or Trent's overall sex appeal.
This is the best outro for a liveshow (and Black Noise is the best outro for an album) ever. I've goose pimples in all my body, seriously (love this "Massive Attack's atmosphere). I hope Trent and the guys will be playing these songs in Paris in May 2014. It's just perfect.
I regularly watch this video since it was released in 2013. Everytime I see it, it sucks me in and I'm in another dimension and all I have is goosebumps for 5 minutes. Thank you for this masterpiece and for the great live performance, Trent!
I was at that show. Been to tons of shows over the years and this one still takes the cake for one of the best if not the best. My friend and I still bring it up to this day.
MESMERIZING! A friend of mine told me about this album at the time I was immersed in Ghosts I-IV. As a cartoonist, this music is a real fuel to me when I am workin from dawn untill dusk. Thanks again for sharing this song.
Does anyone else feel a tad bit relieved from that bittersweet feeling through out the song once the Sax clocks in? This is a perfect ending song, about endings, with a perfect ending.
This was so fucking awesome live and on youtube. This is the one song I can post on facebook and literally have a thumbs up from from older to younger people who have no clue who NIN is...
Amazing how this song goes to another level during the live performance. Kick myself for not seeing this version of NIN live, love the backup singers!!!
Trent Reznor should really make an album out of all his live performances and put it on Spotify. I would download faster than you can call, "RACISM!" A lot of these are even better than the original songs.
I always found this tour kind of funny taking Josh, someone similarly skilled and specialized in making his own brand of incredible electronic textures, and giving him like four notes to play over and over again on a saxophone or bass or whatever.
The static. The clarity. The static. The clarity. That clean guitar. This track means a lot to me (no, not drugs). I can only think of a few songs where it reminded me of chewing on aluminum foil, and for that to *NOT* be a bad thing.
Black noise is such a doomsday ending. I love it. And those vocals by Lisa and Sharlotte are incredible.
It literally sounds apocalyptic.
The album version was crushing in and of itself, but this is something else.
The sheer collection of talent up on that stage is astounding

Literally EVERY NIN Show is the best show I've ever seen Live, and I've seen enough to FUCKIN AGREE that that was one of the the BEST
Stay with me, hold me near, while I'm still here...
My favorite line of the song
The chorus is mind-bendingly gorgeous. Almost like an aphex twin chord progression.
This song is like watching the sun cry.
When the verses seem to build to something that will self-destruct, but then just resolves into a quiet, moody sort of feigned contentment. Oh, magnificent.
Oh damn, "like watching the Sun cry"... that brought a tear to my eye.
...like watching the sun cry.
You are a poet and a scholar whomever you are
Horn, vocals, guitars, keyboards and the drummer LORD!!!!!! Trent, Robin!!!!!❤

Even hear a song that makes you feel like you need to tell the world about it? That's this song for me.
Who did you end up telling? :)
I just did too my friend, I just did too🤙
Ughhhhh my god. This takes me back to how Trent made me feel when I first started listening to NIN. That outro is incredible. Fucking phenomenal performance.
Yeah his live versions tend to do that
Sing sing sing Lisa Fischer & Sharlotte Gibson my girls!!!!
27 years and still sound awesome!!!
Love NIN!!!
Still to this day standing in my kitchen just sobbing... I feel this so much
Hope you’re doin well

I couldn`t have written it better ;-)

This performance is so touching

+Juan Diego “JuanDHMPs” Herrera Mamanché you forgot the drummer.
Why choose?
All of the above!
+Juan Diego “JuanDHMPs” Herrera Mamanché or that lead ;)))))))))))))))))))
+Juan Diego “JuanDHMPs” Herrera Mamanché each time I listen to it/watch this video I get an eargasm from a different aspect. Today it was the sax.
The backing singers elevated this sing so much

I love the voice with the lady
Hearing this song live makes me want to listen to Hesitation Marks completely, love this live version even more than the album version
Yup =D
Word.... I still listen to the album
It’s a great record, Trent never disappoints.
It’s a great record, Trent never disappoints.
I am sitting down yet my knees are weak from this mind-blowing soulful experience
I could listen to that Black Noise outro for an hour ~ Phenomenal!
Best outro ever, but something tells me those ladies were just getting warmed up when the lights went out.
Way better than the album version!
This song is brilliant and incredibly sad at the same time.
trent is always one step ahead of the music, tecnology, sounds, etc. this song is in the top 10 of nin history
I regularly watch this video since it was released in 2013. Everytime I see it, it sucks me in and I'm in another dimension and all I have is goosebumps for 5 minutes. Thank you for this masterpiece and for the great live performance, Trent!
The transition into Black Noise sounded like it nearly destroyed the sound system when they played Brooklyn...
I was at that show. Been to tons of shows over the years and this one still takes the cake for one of the best if not the best. My friend and I still bring it up to this day.
Pink Nails vibe at the end
MESMERIZING! A friend of mine told me about this album at the time I was immersed in Ghosts I-IV. As a cartoonist, this music is a real fuel to me when I am workin from dawn untill dusk. Thanks again for sharing this song.

Sister sang it down
Some great gig in the sky vibes
Oh my goddddddd the atmosphere yesyesyesyesyes
This is a complex and emotional performance.
I had goosebumps on every square inch of my body during Black Noise
Youre not the only one
this was hands down the absolutely best part of the entire production
They would be mesmerizing to see Live! Trent Reznor is one of the few singers that sounds better live than in recordings.
A great gig in the sky.
Its been always on my bucket list is to see Nine Inch Nails live and in person. Love this song and this band.
Some of the best female singing I've heard in a while. Yum.
This was so fucking awesome live and on youtube. This is the one song I can post on facebook and literally have a thumbs up from from older to younger people who have no clue who NIN is...
Can someone please explain to me how the outro of this song, with no lyrics whatsoever....brings tears to my eyes?
Trent Reznor. That's why.
It taps into our deepest darkest unconscious fears. I think that's why
Fn amazing! NIN still crushing it after all these years. The 2 vocal accompaniments were dead on.
life changing music
Just can't stop listening to the track, amazing!!
Man that was crazy good.
Love this version, the song is so beautifully written simple but intricate and skillfully arranged. 💗
Gorgeous. Simply gorgeous.
God this never fails to give me goosebumps.
Words cannot.
almost four months later and those lights still make me drool. Most people don't even realize ow insane that setup was...
I saw NIN here in Chicago with my son, such an amazing show!!!!! Hated that it had to end!!!!!! Can not wait for next show!!!!
JFC... as complete a NIN song as I ever seen/heard - borderline operatic? Never disappoints...
I will say it again..If you have the chance to see Trent Reznor and company live...DO IT!!!! It will change your life
14 times and counting!!!
2:55-3:20 favorite part of the song with robin coming in a little louder
I'm in tears..... That was so amazing....
Im still crying at the end ugh it's so good
That was one hell of a new ending.
The addition of those two women singing in the back. Oh lawwwwd!! Hell. yes. More of them, on your original tracks!
He's fucking amazing
Y el final es brutal !!!
This version is quite mesmerizing.
I think you have a new Nine inch Nails fan now :)))) . i'm gonna check them all out.
13 year old me in '89 agrees
You have a lot to look forward to...I'd start with With Teeth
i just can't get over the bass synth @1:18 & @2:36 by Cortini , its whirring yet soothing.
Whoa. That was simply amazing. Had that pink floyd feel going.
Amazing how this song goes to another level during the live performance. Kick myself for not seeing this version of NIN live, love the backup singers!!!
Lord have mercy!

Trent Reznor should really make an album out of all his live performances and put it on Spotify. I would download faster than you can call, "RACISM!" A lot of these are even better than the original songs.
Exactly, man, exactly :-D

Me too
It was amazing.
Always a MASTERPIECE!
I always found this tour kind of funny taking Josh, someone similarly skilled and specialized in making his own brand of incredible electronic textures, and giving him like four notes to play over and over again on a saxophone or bass or whatever.
Universal happiness until the universe reminds me that NIN keeps me grounded in this one instant
Spiritual... very much so... it has a pulse... it's alive...
This is literally the best sing i've ever witnessed

The static. The clarity. The static. The clarity. That clean guitar. This track means a lot to me (no, not drugs).
I can only think of a few songs where it reminded me of chewing on aluminum foil, and for that to *NOT* be a bad thing.
She hit those damn notes
This pops into my head frequently for some reason…
Damn, I really wish I had the time to see a show in this particular tour.
Great Gig In The Sky anyone?
Fun fact. A few of Trent's works were influenced by Pink Floyd, especially The Downward Spiral.
Yep. Very GGITS.
Fun fact #2
Hesitation Marks has a strong Prince influence.
I was thinking the same thing. Perhaps with a dash of Saucerful Of Secrets. Definitely Floydian. Definitely wonderful.
yoyoBrando syd would like
